The #1 Mistake Pelvic Health Marketers Make in 2026
7 Feb 2026 · 18 min
In this solo‑coach podcast episode, Kelly Alhooie outlines why pelvic‑health providers consistently fail at marketing and how to fix it. She starts with external marketing, insisting every practitioner must run an event (launch party, workshop, webinar, etc.) with a clear date, pre‑event outreach (texts/emails), a deadline‑driven sign‑up, a single purpose, and a post‑launch follow‑up that turns attendees into paying clients through a compelling offer. She then moves to social media, urging daily posts to stay top‑of‑mind and revealing a new AI‑bot service that creates and schedules content automatically, freeing clinicians from Canva and video production. The real sales happen in DMs, so she stresses a systematic DM follow‑up process and tracking to avoid lost leads. Paid ads are presented as a later step, only for clinics that can answer calls within five seconds; she compares Google Ads (high‑intent) to Facebook Ads (lower intent). Internally, Kelly audits clinical operations: ensuring patients complete their full plan of care, standardizing provider protocols, and establishing clear communication around packages and expectations. She advocates for long‑term follow‑up systems that nurture non‑paying contacts, turning the practice into a sellable asset and preventing burnout. The episode then shifts to mindset, lamenting that most therapists avoid investing in their business and settle for 15 patients a week, which she argues leads to overwork, resentment, and financial insecurity. She shares her own experience scaling from 60 patients/week to running multiple seven‑figure businesses without direct clinical involvement, emphasizing that higher income comes from replacing oneself, not working harder. Finally, she invites listeners to text her for system help, mentions a sponsor, and provides a call‑to‑action to book a strategy call.

Let's talk about internal marketing, external marketing. I'm going to start with external marketing first. Many of you guys kind of know how to do this, but don't really know all the little detailed steps that need to be had to be able to make your marketing pop. So here we go. Let's get into it. No fluff. Let's go. All right, so step number one, you need to have an event. Whether or not you have a launch party, whether or not you have a workshop, whether or not you have a webinar, you need to have some kind of event. And it could be many different things. It could be an online seminar, like, whatever you want to name it. Cool, name it that. Okay. But what needs to be had is you need to have the date, the time, and then you need to have text messages and emails that go out before that event saying, hey, guess what? This event is coming. Pay attention. If you want in, let me know. Okay? Then you need to have during the launch, hey, by the way, this event is about to happen. Please sign up and then put a deadline on that and create urgency. Okay? Then you have to make sure the event goes off as planned. Whether or not it's a workshop, whether or not it's an online, whether or not it's a big, like, community event, you have to make sure that event has a purpose and has one outcome to it. And then after that, I call it a post launch, where you need to make sure that again, you have text messages, emails, and systems that handle people that aren't responding. Handle people that are responding, what to do with them. What is the outcome that you're trying to get them? Are you trying to get them to sign up with you? What is that? Where are you leading these people to? So you have to create an offer. You have to create an amazing offer that they're going to say you, yes, I need that and I want that. And so that's all part of an event. And I believe in 2026, every single person should be creating some kind of event so that there's some massive movement and some massive push to get people to know, like, and trust you. And I believe that is key to growing and continuing to grow to make sure people in your community say, yep, I know, I like her, I trust her. So now I'm going to work with her. Okay, now that's just one way to do marketing. The next thing is social media. As you guys know, you must be posting consistently, I believe daily. Okay? I believe every single day you should be posting. And basically when you post, all it's doing is saying, hi, I'm here, remember me, pay attention to me. That's it. The DMs is where all these sales happen. So don't think you're going to post, you're going to get a sale. The DMs is huge. So the front end marketing is what post are you creating that's attracting your ideal client or speaking to them so that they say, yes, me too, and they start to relate to you. And we have created the first ever that I know of, AI bots that actually can create the post with your head, your images, whatever you want, your writing, and it will actually do the posting for you and take care of your social media. And it's the first time ever that it's going to save you tons of time, effort, energy. No canva, use no hair and makeup if you don't want to. If you want normal videos, we can use, you know, normal videos like from your iPhone, that's fine too. But basically it handles all the behind the scenes so that you can post. Get people in the door, get people to say, up, I remember them, let me call them. And then in the dms, that is more of the internal system of what do you have when someone follows you? Are you reaching out to them? What does that look like? Are you having these conversations? Okay, how are you keeping track of that? Most of you guys are not keeping track of any of it. And, and so then these clients and customers get lost. And so that, that's huge. You know, that's more internal. There another external thing again, I talked about social media, I talked about workshops. Another external factor that you can do besides social media is you can do ads. Um, and I recommend only for the clients that are ready for it, meaning that they can answer the phone in less than 60 seconds or less. Otherwise you're wasting money on ads. There are stats that if you cannot answer your phone in less than five seconds or less, there's an 80% chance that you will not get that lead, even if they fill out a form on your ad and everything. So that means you're wasting money. So unless you have that dialed in, I recommend not running ads. Okay, but that is a form externally to help build your caseload. Google Ads and Facebook ads. Google Ads typically outperform Facebook ads because they're hotter clients, because they're going to Google and specifically saying, hey, I have this problem, can you help me? And so that's key. They're not necessarily saying that on Facebook. Okay, now when we talk about internal systems. This is what I look at and see. Quick interruption. For those that have questions on today's episode, please text my personal number. It's second 703-783-2388. I'd be happy to answer any questions that you have to get you unstuck. Let's get back to the episode, look at and see. Okay, first off, are all the patients completing their plan of care fully? Are they? And if they're not, then what can I implement into the system that actually allows them to complete their full plan of care? Meaning what are things? Can I remind them of their goals? Can I can set more expectations and better, better clarity? Right. Do I have a specific method internally that all my providers go by or and or myself so that no matter who comes in the door, it's the same service that I am providing every single one of my patients and it's not like off or different or so that the, the standard is clear. Many of you guys don't have that. And that's what you need to create to make sure that everything's consistent across the board and then you grow your brand. That's key. The next thing is how are we talking to customers? How are. And that's all internal, right? Like let's just say for a package, if you guys sell packages, whether or not you sell packages or not, how are you getting them to commit to a full plan of care and getting them the actual result? That's all internal marketing. How are you marketing to them saying hey, this is what you need, like legitimate, you know, it's not made up, but legitimate, saying hey, this is what I really believe you need. Are you comfortable with that? You know, and the next thing I would say is for either yourself or admins, whether or not you have an admin or not, do you have systems on the back end? This is again internal marketing where anyone that doesn't book with you, are you actually following up with them for years on end, following up, providing value to them, helping them out even if they aren't paying clients? Are you actually doing that? And if you do not have these systems yet, this is key to have to continuously grow your business because some of you guys, you don't know if you're going to sell it in a year. I mean I never thought I was going to sell, thought I was going to have my company forever. You may not know that, but if you want to create an asset, you have to have systems in place so that you can continue to continuously build without getting Burnt out. If you do not have systems in place, you will croak trying to keep up with everyone that does have systems in place that you're like, I just can't compete. I just can't compete at all. Because a human, one human cannot out compete, you know, 12 other different humans, plus bots, plus agents, all the things. It just doesn't happen. And in today's world, it just is not it. So if you're not on the forefront of this, then you need to hire someone that is like, we have this all built out, okay? That allows you to be more proficient and allows you to do things without it taking as much time, effort, energy, so that you can focus your attention on truly what matters, which is getting the patients the results. And it's not going to take you two, three, four years to get there. It'll take you one year because you invested in these things that have shortened that gap. And I think that's key. I don't believe a lot of people really understand that. Guys, I talked about 30 of you guys just recently and I was so shocked. So, so shocked. How many providers, I would say two out of the 30 honestly understood investment. Two out of the 30 therapists that I talked to. And it honestly made me so freaking sad for our profession because I feel like they just sold us on a lie. We invested, we took out, I took out $230,000 student loans because I invested in my education, which then got me a return of $62,000 a year, which ultimately I probably made 40k a year off that. Had to work four jobs, killed myself, killed my body for eight years doing that. And it was all a lie, comparatively. No one wants to invest. I shouldn't say no one. You want to invest outside of school, you're okay putting money to Con Ed, but you're not okay putting money into building a business. It doesn't make sense to me. And every single one of the people that I talked to said, yeah, Kelly, of course I want time, of course I want money. You know, I really want to just help women. So many of you guys, your deeper. Why was I really wanted to help women? Well, if you want to really help women, why are you only limited to 15 patients a week? Why are your goals only 8 8k a month? I can tell you why. Because you're scared. Because you don't know any better. I was the same way. I didn't know. I just wanted to replace my income and make 4K. That was the standard I had for myself. Because you're not surrounding yourself with people that level you up and get you to understand that there's a way bigger life out there than anyone ever taught us. And that's your problem. That's what's costing you. It's going to cost you to live your life at 8k, which by the way, now is like poverty level. Okay? Like, it really is. And I, and I just got off all these calls and I honestly just put my head like this and I was like, I'm so sad. Like I'm just so sad. And I remember my husband being like, why? And I, and I was just like, you don't understand. Like, all they taught us was a lie. And us women, we don't have these big goals. I'm not saying everyone has to have big dreams, but want more for your life. Want more. And I'm not saying, I'm not just saying money wise, but the money is the thing that is then going to allow you to have the freedom. You have to have the money first to then get the freedom, which I don't think also people understand. You can't just work 15 hours thinking, yay, I made 10k a month and thinking like, you've won the lottery. I know at first that may seem like yay, like that we're all excited about because that's like amazing. But like, that's not it. You don't stop, stop there. You're just getting started. You have to learn how to replace yourself if your kids get sick, your husband gets sick, you get sick. You don't have that money coming in. You're playing with fire. How do you have a business to support your family? You don't. So what are other ways that you're going to build this thing that doesn't rely on you? And how do you raise your standards to be like, no, I do want more than one vacation a year. I want three vacations. Cool, we'll have three vacations. You're going to have to ask more for more than, you know, 8k a month. Like you, you just are. I, I don't know. And I just think that I, I just, I don't know. I just, I think I was just so disappointed. And it's not that I'm disappointed at us, the therapist. I'm just disappointed at, like, again, like, no one taught us this stuff. And I, and I feel like I have so much work to do. I think that's why I'm so passionate about it because I, I was in this position, but I didn't stay here Long. And I think that's what is different is I saw it for a GL. I wanted like 4k for like 1 month and like that was it. I didn't want it for like the rest of my life. And a lot of us are saying right now, yeah, I just want 4k for like the rest of my life. And I'm like, no, because that 4k is going to be like a penny in 10 years from now. It's just not going to, it's not going to be real. And so I just want to encourage our profession to level up. Level up. Want more. It's okay to want more. And if you want more, I think most of you guys are so scared to want more because you're like, that means more work. No, this, I've done it all. I've been at the level here and I've been at the very high level. I can tell you I did way less work. I promise you I did way less work at the higher level. I had no contact with my clinic. I did not see patients. I was, you know, traveling back and forth from coast to coast. I didn't do anything with my clinic. And it was growing to multi sevens, okay, Comparatively. I've also been in my clinic where I saw 60 patients a week, probably more than anyone's ever seen. Okay, 60 patients a week, no joke. Back to back for three months straight and ran two companies. What do you think is, what do you think is more work seeing 60 patients a week or having no contact and my clinic is just running beautifully? It's the latter. And I was making so much more money when my hands were out of the pot, not in the pot. So I'm, I'm not. This is not like, you know, hypothetical. I've actually lived it. I'm one of the few coaches that have lived it and done it, which is why I'm the best coach to coach on this. Because I've had the range, I've gotten out of the job. I've been in the business, I've seen so many patients. I've been able to replace myself. I've been able then to sell my company. I was able to pull myself out of the company before I sold it. For years and years, you know, I've been able to do online, I've been able to do in person, I've been, I've been able to do it all. And of course there's probably still more to do. But you know, I'm just saying that this is coming from knowledge of actually doing it not just hypothetical. Well, this is what could happen or not. And I think some of you guys have a hard time believing that it could be you because no one showed you the path. But I'm here to tell you, I've lived it and I've coached so many other people through it, and that it can be you. And that it can be like you pushing towards bigger dreams so that you don't have to work harder. But many of you guys just stay stuck at 15 patients because you believe that that is the thing that's going to keep you safe and not be overworked. And that's actually the thing that is going to overwork you. And a year from now or two years from now, you will have resentment towards your business. Mark my word, you will. You'll hate it. And you'll build something you hate because you can't your handcuff to those 15 hours a week either at a clinic, mobile, online, what it could do, computer screen, whatever it may be. And you're like, but Kelly, that's not that much. Yeah, it's not much right now, but it will be. Especially when your kid is like, hey, I need you over here. And you can't do that because you have to serve the clients. And that's when it becomes a problem. So, yeah, these are just the lessons that I've seen that I wanted to bring up to you guys. And like, please, just, if I have one message to you, please set your standards higher, please, I beg you. And like, let's really move our profession and like, just level each other up because every single one of us deserves the best. So if you guys want to level up and you don't want to be like, you know, you don't want to be like everyone else and be different, don't follow the pack, be different, be unique, then text me 700-378-32388. Text me and just say systems, Kelly, or help me. And that way we can start moving forward on this. All right, guys, bye bye. That is the code for Jane.
