The ONE THING That Could Change Your Life and Business
11 Oct 2025 · 9 min
Kelly Alhooie argues that group coaching is a timely strategy for healthcare providers—especially pelvic health clinicians—to increase income while reducing hours. She gives market context (fewer traditional job openings, automation trends), niche figures (≈700 US pelvic‑floor business owners; ≈25M people needing help for leakage), and concrete pricing/revenue examples (e.g., ~$130 per person for group sessions yielding higher hourly revenue). The episode covers practical setup: niching, marketing cadence (3–4 weeks advance), session structure (in-person vs online, guided home programs), legal/structuring notes (separate entities or consult an attorney), and a call-to-action with contact info for help.

Are you a provider and you're looking into increasing your income and decreasing your time? Well, guess what? Group coaching is the way that you're going to do that. So hear me out on this. Group coaching is something where you can coach 1, 2, actual mini, meaning you don't have to schedule patients every single hour, maybe every 30 minutes. However you operate, you can actually schedule five patients at the 9 o' clock time slot where people can come in and do things together. This is, I believe, where health care is turning now. Why do I believe this? The reason why I believe this is because people are going to have less job opportunities. And as providers, we would like to get paid what we are worth and to just be able to pay off our student loans. And this is why we charge what we're worth. Because we have a very special niche, especially in the pelvic health community. We have a very special niche. There is only 700 of US business owners for pelvic floor, physical and occupational therapy. That is a small niche. Well, when you have a small niche and an increase in demand because there's 25 million people that actually need our help and our services just for leakage alone, guess what? Our price does, it goes up. But here's the problem. If people start not having jobs, if they jobs are going away. I just saw a stat today that the job market is actually, you know, going down, which is why they lowered the interest rates. Okay? The reason why is because companies are realizing they don't need 40, 50, 60 person team. What they're doing now is they're actually using chat to then create their team for them and constantly have that team working in the background and be able to solve complicated problems without actually hiring a person. Well, you're probably thinking, well, Kelly, why does this affect me? It affects you because what happens is when people don't have jobs and now they're going to have to learn a new skill, there may be a dip in the market where people do not have the money to pay 2,5300 dollars a session. So what are you going to have to do? You're going to have to adjust your prices. Well, here's the thing, you're not going to be able to take that hit of you're making 250 a session and now you're making 150 a session. Because how are you going to pay overhead? How are you going to pay your staff? How are you going to pay your other providers that you're supporting? How are you going to pay, you know, all the things that you're have to pay to run an actual business. Taxes, all the different things. Right. So what are we going to do instead, guys? I was banging my head ever since I sold my practice. I was banging my head against the freaking wall of like how do we do this better? And because I had time to actually process and think, I came up with group coaching. No one is doing this. And I truly believe this is the way that is going to help negate the problem that I see coming down the pipe. And it's coming quickly. So I believe that you can charge about 130 a session. So it lowers literally the price point for the patient. Isn't that a win? Who's going to complain about that? No one. However, it's going to increase the income per hour that the provider gets because you're going to have at least two people for group coaching at the same time. Now let's just say you had one person only sign up for that slot. What I would do is I would actually give them a guided home program that they could follow for that price point at 1:30 a session and then they could be on their way where it didn't have to really involve you. Okay, but if you have two or more people, I would do it live at first so that you can understand what the patients and the clients need and then make it better and better and better. And if you have at least two patients an hour, you're going to be making 260 instead of 250. That is a win. Win. If you have three patients, you're going to be making 300, almost $400 then almost $400 an hour. Which one would you prefer? Help more people.
Condense your time, make money, make more money per hour, or you do an eight hour day, you're exhausted, you see, you know, eight patients that day and you only are making your cap at making 250 an hour. Which one would you prefer? And by the way, you're locked in that room for eight hours a day or you're locked to the computer screen if you're doing online. I don't want to be locked to either. I don't want to be locked in a computer screen and I don't want to be locked to a treatment room 8. I'd be happy to answer any questions that you have to get you unstuck. Let's get back to the episode. As the job market starts to go down, it'll be less opportunities for jobs. So.
It'S just something I wanted to bring up to bring yalls attention to and, and think about it differently than what we've been doing in health care. And so there's many different ways to do this. You have to market it. You have to know how to market it. That's key. So I do marketing at least four to, four to three weeks in advance for it. You're going to have to niche the group down, okay? That is key. You must do that. You must decide your price point. You must decide on how many people you actually want in your group coaching. What does the structure of the group coaching look like? Is it in person? Is it online? Is it where they can ask you questions? Is it once a week? Is it multiple times a week? What does that look like for you specifically? And like, what makes you feel confident? Do you have the back end set up where you know each week on what you're going to teach or each time you see them when you meet that you have a plan? Exactly on. I'm going to teach this. I'm going to teach this. I'm going to teach this. I'm going to teach this. If you don't have that stuff, guys, we have it all. I've already created it all because I knew this was coming, okay? And if you need help with it, please just text me. 703-783-2388. Text me, yes, it's me. I will answer you back, okay? If you have questions on how to do provider to group coaching, that is what we're really teaching on now. And it's working. And people are doing it and getting good results from it, okay? And they're getting their time back. So all my busy moms out there actually have time with their kids. Like, how freaking cool is that? And they're helping more people, which is what we want to do.
So if you're like thinking about, I don't know if this is for me or not, okay? And by the way, you don't have to write notes, you don't have to do super bills. You don't have to code anything with a diagnosis. Code.
Like, why are we not doing this? It's like a no freaking brainer to me. And I think most of us are just so freaking scared of like, something that could happen. But, like, nothing can happen. Nothing can happen. And if you're really terrified, then hire an attorney, okay? If you're really terrified, hire an attorney. I even talk to people that have two separate entities where like, they're like, this is my coaching business and then this is my doctor business. Over Here you could do that, but it's just really how you word things, how you, you know, put things together, how you put the offer together, how you communicate effectively. It really comes down to communication on how do you communicate to the, to the patients, on like, hey, this is what we're going to do. This is what we're about. And if you don't know how to do that, I'd be happy to help you to get you over the hump, because most of you guys are just lacking, just getting over that hump and then like the rest is history and you could go out there and crush it. And the people that are first, the marketplace, on doing this, I truly believe are going to be the winners. The people are like, yeah, I saw my other person colleague do that over there and I guess maybe I'll do it, maybe. And they wait and be too late, way too late. Speed is king. So the faster you can integrate this, I promise you, the better, the better you're going to be.
So I think that's huge. And I think more and more people will be going online. I've also seen that trend and I don't care. All my competitors out there saying, you know, that's not correct. Well, I see it differently. And in my programs we see massive influxes of people.
Moving to online and getting clients online. So I believe that's going to be integrated whether or not it's a teletherapy or whether or not it's coaching online. Both of those all fall into the same category.
And so you have to learn how to do this well. And yeah, I just want to come on today and talk about why, you know, why you really should consider this and where the market is going and give you guys just some quick insight on what's in my head and what I've been seeing. And, you know, I got insight because I work with a lot of people, so I know what's happening in the market a lot and these are the things that we're seeing. So I just want to come on and bring you a quick update on what we've been seeing, what's happening and what my predictions are on what's next to be prepared for. So hopefully this is helpful.
