Transform Frustration into Effective Sales Strategies

Kelly Alhooie (YouTube) explains how healthcare providers can convert frustration with the insurance-based system into increased sales and better patient outcomes by moving to cash-based practice. She uses personal and patient anecdotes to argue that cash-based care allows more time per patient, holistic problem-solving (nutrition, stress, multiple body systems), and clearer patient communication — and she recommends using that frustration as motivation and as persuasive material during calls/Zoom consults to close more clients.

Are you frustrated with the current healthcare system? Are you so freaking tired of it that you're like, I gotta quit my job or you already quit your job, you have a business and you're like, man, but my sales still stink and like, we can't convert anyone. Well, today's episode is for you because I'm gonna talk about how you're gonna use your frustration to effectively close deals and make sales increase. So that's what I talk about today. So most people are, most providers in health care are over the health care system. We have all seen behind the curtains of what the reality is. Reimbursement gets lower and lower every single year and providers get more and more worked with more patients just to try to make overhead and to make a living wage. And the reality is most of us are burnt out, tired. We're sick ourselves because we can't give to ourselves because we're giving to our patients 24 7. And so most of us are actually leaving the insurance based realm and going cash. And this is why I am a cash health coach and wellness coach because I know that most providers are going that way because they're just over the healthcare system and we all should be. I'm not blaming anyone because I did the same thing because I was over it, even for my own health. Like it was just enough's enough and they weren't actually giving me real results. I can't tell you how many times I was in Portland, I had a heart issue. Not solvable. I paid $10,000 with insurance, but the cardiologist couldn't solve it. I swear it was from a dental procedure. But the doctors couldn't connect the dots because they weren't in the same hospital. You know, the dentist and the heart doctor don't work together. And it's like, I think this is 100% correlated. And they're like, no, it's not. It's not. Same thing happened with my face. I saw so many different providers and, and they're all saying, well, it's this thing or it's this thing and this, and no one's talking to each other. Did I get my problem solved? No. And it was all in network because I couldn't find a dermatologist that was at a network. Shocking. By the way, if you're a dermatologist out there, please go out and network so that you can actually listen to your patients and pay attention to them. Okay. Because if, I mean like really, if we were able to put. I was bringing so many stuff to my dermatologist just desperate for answers. And they'd be like, no, I don't think so. And I'm like, why read on the Internet this barberry thing is, it is a natural, you know, antibiotics, I take that. No, I don't think so. I'm like. And I started taking it and helped. So you have to use the pain whether or not it's your own personal, you know, story of your own personal health. Or maybe it's a family member. Like I had to deal with two very sick family members during my whole journey and seeing them struggle and go through the system and again, they couldn't figure it out and use that pain and that struggle to do it differently to help patients out the way that we know that they deserve to freaking have help and to have answers because we know we can give so many more answers. Being a cash based provider, we can. Because you know why? We have time with the patients. We have time to understand the complete full aspect of who they are and what their needs are. That's the benefit. Comparatively, every 10, 15 minutes a new patient walks in the door. How am I supposed to give every single patient my undivided attention? I can't. And it becomes very challenging and very hard and you burn out. So the last thing you want to do is go research something like that's not for your patient to like help them. You don't. If you didn't know it, that's not helpful. It's not helpful for anyone. So the point of the episode today is use the frustration to convert more people into coming and being with you and, and doing, you know, business with you and basically you changing their lives. So what I mean by that is this converts to over the phone or over a zoom call. If I'm with a new customer on Zoom and I am trying to say, hey, you know, I'm the best fit for you. I'm going to use my stories of patients that have gone elsewhere to an insurance based clinic or online and have had horrible results only with symptom management. And they weren't actually getting their problem solved. Comparatively, if you look at all of our reviews, the problem has actually been solved completely. And that is the main difference between you using insurance and coming, you know, or going somewhere else versus coming here. In addition to that, we have a method the way we do things. We are not bound by insurance. So insurance is able to control, you know, what those providers do over there, but they can't control us. They meaning we can treat many different body parts. We can put all the Pieces of the puzzle together. We can talk about your nutrition, we can talk about your diet, we can talk about your stress. We can put all the pieces of the puzzle together. If you go the traditional route, you can only focus on that one thing that you are there for and that is it. Whatever that diagnosis code is, you can only focus on that. And I can't tell you enough is like that should be so passionate over the zoom call or over the freaking, you know, phone that they feel it, the patients feel it because they've lived it or I mean, nothing's worse than like a chronic pelvic pain patient coming to see us. And they have literally seen seven different doctors, urologists, endosurgeons, PCPs, you know, nurse practitioners, all the things and gotten zero results. They've been on antibiotics, they've done all this stuff. Nothing has helped them. And they say to me, you're my last resort. I want those patients so freaking badly because I know that I can change their freaking life. And I need them to feel that over the phone because I am 100% confident that if they tried all those things that I know was not going to help them anyways, that I am the go to person to help them. Because I know those other people did not hit the way I hit it because they're so focused. Urologist is just going to focus on your urine and taking a urine sample and your prostate and giving you antibiotics. It's classic. A primary care is just going to focus on blood work and thinking you have cancer. Classic. Okay? An NP that's maybe like hormones, they may check your hormones and they're going to focus on that, but no one is putting the piece of the puzzle together. And that's why I think it's so key for us as these providers to spend time with our patients so that we can put all the pieces of the puzzle together and truly give them the best outcome. Because we have all the answers. We do. I truly believe we have all the answers. We just need time with them to understand fully who they are and what they want out of the treatment or the session or whatever else. And so when I say like transform your frustration into sales, this is what I mean by that. Use the fire. I know you guys have it inside of you. Use the fire. Whether or not it's your own personal frustration of the health care system or it's through maybe a family member or someone else or even a past patient that experienced it, that should light you the heck up to stand up for these people. And then in return. It's going to grow your business and it's going to get the patient the best freaking outcome. It's a win win situation. So please use your frustration with this so that everyone benefits and we're not just stuck in the same health care system doing the same thing over and over again, getting zero results and just managing on the back end. We all know that does not work. And so please use your frustration and effectively get people to come hang out with you and treat them so that they get the results and you become the hero and you win the game. That's it, guys. All right.
