Why Virtual Coaching Is The Future

Kelly Alhooie explains virtual coaching in healthcare, distinguishing it from teletherapy: virtual coaching provides general guidance (classes, courses, group or one-on-one coaching) without medical diagnoses, superbills, or HIPAA-bound recordkeeping. She advocates for one-to-many virtual group coaching (small groups of ~2–10) as cost-effective for patients (about half the price of a typical one-on-one session) while increasing providers' hourly earnings. Benefits emphasized include community building, peer support, scalability vs AI/market pressures, and practical scheduling (e.g., morning sessions for postpartum or pregnancy groups). Examples include postpartum moms and male pelvic floor cohorts. A phone contact is offered for follow-up.

Virtual coaching in the healthcare space for healthcare providers. Let's talk about it. So when you are a healthcare provider and you are using your license, you have many restrictions. You cannot cross state lines, you have to provide diagnoses, you have to provide potentially a sewer bill if you're a cash based service and you have to write notes and be, you know, in a HIPAA compliant software. When you are a virtual coach, meaning you're online, this is not teletherapy. Teletherapy still falls under the realm of actually practicing underneath your provider realm and the rules and regulations of that. A virtual coach is someone that is providing guidance to whatever issue someone may be having. It doesn't necessarily have to be one specific issue. So let me give you an example. Postpartum moms, they could have many issues. They could have weak abs, they could be peeing themselves, they could have constipation. So I'm not solving one thing. I could be solving many things through a class or a course. I could do it one on one. So I could do virtual group coaching one on one or I could do virtual group coaching one to many as a group. And so I would prefer to do one to many because that way it's less of your time and you're going to be saying the same exact thing that you're going to be saying to one on one to each person. This is what I discovered guys, and I'm telling you right now, I believe this is the way it's going because AI is coming. I believe that jobs will be cut, there is opportunities for people to get other jobs. Guess however, I do believe prices are going to have to come down from what we normally charge with one on one sessions. So how do we compete with that? Still getting the providers the income that they deserve and need and also giving the patient an opportunity to get their problem solved without it being, you know, over $200 price point each session or each visit. And so I came up with this thing called group coaching and it could be virtual or it could be in person. Today in this video I'm going to talk about virtual. If you want more of other ones in person, please make sure you watch the other videos after this. But what I'm saying is you could get a group of women together, hey, I got openings and put it at a, you know, time that a lot of people can do, which is typically moms or nine o' clock in the morning. Okay, at nine o' clock in the morning. And we're going to start, you know, in a week. From now. Okay, great, awesome. Can't wait for that. And what you're going to do is walk people step by step on how to actually get them back to the gym, how to actually feel more confident. Pregnancy is another one that this is, this could be very, very popular. They can come in at any time during their pregnancy journey and you have every single Monday at 10 o' clock set that this is when they're going to actually be coming in your door and you know, getting their problem solved. And then that group of people that, that are with you, you know, and you could do anywhere between two to four to even 10 people if you wanted, you know, whatever you're comfortable with. But I would start small and then you could go up from there. But this group of people is the benefit of this is like this mom is going to, can relate to this mom and they're going to get to know each other. So then they're going to build that community around it. And that alone. This is the thing that we don't talk about. We think that we as the providers have to solve their, all their problems, but that's just not the case. When you build a community of like minded people that have actually the same thing and they're going through the same thing, that right there is so powerful and so underrated. And if you are able to cultivate that and create a safe space for these women to have conversations while also being healed with you, the outcomes of this are just going to be astronomical. Comparatively. If you work one on one with them, they're going to be like, yeah, how many times have we heard I'm the only one that has this problem, right? I'm the only person that you've ever seen probably that has this issue or this bad of an issue and you're like, no, you're not. You actually many people, I even have like six today that I worked on that were just like you and, and they start to feel like less alone. Like even male pelvic floor. Like I would love to put all those guys together and they're all tech engineer guys. Put them all together, all their brains work the same and be like, yeah, all you guys, you see, you see the similarities, okay, this is the reason why you have the problem. Like I would love to do that. And that is, is what it's going to go to. I really believe we're moving in that direction. And whether or not you want to jump on the bandwagon now and start promoting it or not, but I would highly recommend you doing it. And that is virtual coaching. And virtual coaching, I don't have to write down notes of anyone. I don't have to have HIPAA compliance software. I. They get, again, they get group interaction which is going to make compliance go up. And I don't have to put a diagnosis and provide a super bill and worry about the insurance I have to any of that. And I'm going to charge like half the price of a normal visit for them. Half the price of a normal visit. But my hourly rate goes up because I have multiple people. Think of it like group Pilates, okay? Think of it like group Pilates, but in a. In a more. In a more coaching realm. That's basically what we're doing, but from an advanced perspective. Okay? And so, yeah, I really believe people are going to want this and need it, and I believe that's where it's going. So that is virtual coaching online. So if you guys have any questions, you can literally text me. I will text you back. 703. 783. 2388. 2, 388. Thought it was 85, but 88. Okay. And text me at any time. I'd be happy to answer, get back to you and get things going. So. All right, guys, peace.
