Kenny Keller explains the FAA rules that separate private flying from commercial operations. Part 91 lets you fly privately, but Part 135 is required if you're carrying passengers or cargo for hire. One-way drop-offs for payment also count as commercial and need Part 135.

Hey, day 211 coffee with Kenny. I'm up on the side of a mountain, so I don't have a cup of coffee with me right now. I had taken the opportunity to use this background because how many times in my life am I going to be able to do that? I'm going to answer a question I got from somebody asking a bunch of questions about Part 91 and tours and rides and cargo and dropping people off. And I'm like, whoa, hang on here. You can't hire a part 91 oper. You can give rides, but you have to go back to your point of original departure when it gets into passengers and cargo. You can't do that as a Part 91 operator. That has to be Part 135. Part 135 is where you get into hauling passengers and cargo for hire. You cannot do that. That's just a commercial operator under part 91. So hopefully this video comes out. Probably pretty noisy in the background. Still on our trip. Awesome. More awesome stuff to come. Click subscribe. Click the bell. Leave a comment down below. Give us a thumbs up. See you at day 212. Peace out.
