#75 STUDENT PILOTS and RENTERS | Insurance | Does flight training include it?

Kenny Keller and K2 from Plymouth Municipal Airport explain that flight training insurance varies by school. Some schools cover students under corporate policies, while others require students to sign contracts with deductibles ranging from $5,000 to $20,000. Ask your school which applies to you before you start.

Okay, this video is for student pilots and renter pilots. Coffee number three is finishing up over there from J4Real. Can you talk about insurance? Does flight training include it? Usually. If I mess up, am I on the hook? Great question. What about after private pilot certificate as well? The lifetime package he bought. The professional pilot membership I got last week seems great so far. Really helps visualize a lot of of text that otherwise seems daunting to learn. Thanks. That's right. That's what Helicopter Online Ground School is all about. Another coffee cup sent in by a viewer. Thank you very much. Day 75 Coffee with Kenny. This is awesome. First I want to share with you. Member just sent this this morning. Just passed a checkride. This is from Jake. He said, hey Kenny, I passed my private checkride this afternoon. Between my personal preparation using hogs and the information and skills taught by my local instructors, it was a great day. Thank you. The information you provide is invaluable to all of your members. Onward instrument. Looking forward to shaking your hand when you come out to fly the cabri or cabri, however you pronounce it. So yes, Taz and I are going to go out to Oregon to fly that. If you missed that video, I'll put the link down below where we. Taz and I checked out the cabri at Heli Expo. Pretty good video. Talk to two instructors that are currently flying in that aircraft and tell you all about it. And they invited us out to come fly it. So we're going to do that soon. So I'm going to drink a little more coffee while I wake up and have K2 answer the question about insurance. Go K2. Yes, K2 here from the Plymouth Municipal Airport headquarters of Helicopter Online Ground School. Take this example of this instrument right here. This is insured under helicopter line Ground School. We have no contract with you. If you come to fly here, you are insured through our corporate insurance with the corporate commercial policy. Here's an example of another aircraft we were using for just a little bit. We're not currently using that one. That one we had to sign a contract that said we were responsible. Any of my instructor was responsible or anybody flying it was responsible for $5,000 in the initial damages as the deductible calls for two different aircraft operated by two different people, there's two different scenarios. So yes, this is a question that you must present to your flight school. Flat out ask them what's the policy? Are you responsible? I've worked at many different schools over the years and every single school had a Different policy. Some had contracts that you had to sign anywhere between 5,000 to $20,000 worth of damages that you as the student could be responsible for. Most all of us that have been in this business for any length of time have heard horror stories about scams, bad things that happen, people suing people over this and that. And if they have any type of a contract at minimum, make sure that you read through it and understand what it is you're signing. And hey, before we head back to K1 finishing his coffee, I want to give you a quick looks at the Hog's Wall. K1's been mentioned that quite often in these Coffee with Kenny videos, but you may have seen it once or twice. Everybody's got a story and I'll bet you every single one of these flight schools has some type of a different policy with their insurance. So something you just need to check out, look into, ask the questions, find out the dealio again. Knowledge is power man. See all the cool stuff we've been teaching you? You should go to the private pilot membership for only $49 a month. Don't forget, got 24 hour test flight and a 30 day money back. No hassle guarantee. Okay, back to K1 finishes coffee. Okay, I'm more awake now so I can finish up. Thanks again. Veer for the coffee cup. Proud of my new T shirt. Raging against the Machine. I love Rage against the Machine. What a great band.
