Kenny Keller credits his students for passing five helicopter checkrides this year. They studied HOGs courses beforehand, showed up prepared, and stayed focused through full-day training sessions. He says the pattern works: prepare ahead, arrive ready, apply yourself.
Yeah, Awkward in the car videos. I don't do them very often but whatever. I just driving home on a Saturday, working with a member. We don't do much on the weekends, but went in today for this member and I wanted to say that he's doing really, really well. And with all of our five members so far this year, including the current one that's going for number six. They get the credit. Our members get the credit for showing up prepared, studying ahead of using the HOGs courses, using the private pilot study guide. I'm not working like some magic to get these people checkrides. They get the credit, okay? They get the credit for using the videos, taking their time to study at home, making sure they've covered their requirements before they get up here. They do get the credit. I like saying look at us getting these checkrides done and they're all coming out successful and that's great and I'm proud, proud of that. But you know what it boils down to is I've had five really good people come up here and pass checkrides and now I have number six. So it's not like anybody can just come up here and we just whip up this magical check ride. It's not like that. It's a lot of hard work on the part of our members who work so hard before they get here. We're good at making a nice calm, cool environment where you fill it ease and the helicopter's all yours. You know, I, I've been meeting the student or the applicants at 10 because I get up and do my stuff at home before I come into the airport. So once you're here all day, I'm 100% with you. I'm not stopping to make phone calls, answer emails while you're here. Whether our time is from 10 to 6 or whatever, I'm with you all day. We take a couple little breaks, sit down and eat. But we stay with it. But it's a nice. Excuse me. Been talking all day. It's a n smooth pace and it goes nice and smooth because people are showing up prepared and they have applied themselves. So I just want to put that message out. By the time I get home I'll be. And I'll be like, I'm ready to take a nap. I thought throw that camera up there and just shoot this so that everybody understands I'm giving credit to our members. They've all been pro members for most all these pro or monthly and they've went through the HOGS courses and they've applied themselves and they work at it and they show up with great attitudes. That's how it's all working. So we'll put a link down below for Hogg's courses. That's how they're doing it. They're using the courses before they ever get here. All inspired by you, Jamie, back in, like, 2017, when we did your checkride and he said, man, you should be doing this for people all over the country, but make sure they go through the Hogs courses before they ever show up. So there you go. Kudos or congratulations or good job to everybody that's been up here. And for those of you that want to come up and finish up your rating, just do what these guys are doing and girls are doing. Just study, apply yourself, go through the pts, make sure you're ready, make sure you have everything you need. All right? Peace out.
