Kenny Keller (host) explains the FAA flight review requirement: it is required every 24 months and must include a minimum of one hour flight and one hour of ground instruction (instructors may require more). He advises pilots to know documents, privileges, and currency items thoroughly because examiners typically begin checkrides with document/privilege questions. The clip closes with a brief merchandise promotion for Fort Wayne Helicopters hoodies and a sign-off.

Anyway, what I want to talk about is the biannual flight review, which is the first thing of the three. I know it's not called biannual anymore. A lot of us still say biannual flight review because we've called it that for years. The terminology has changed and it's now called flight review. You have to have a flight review every 24 months and it must be a minimum of one hour flight and one hour of ground. So your instructor can require more than that. If you show up in an hour and you're on top of things and you been stayed on the books and on top of regs and you can go out and fly to a good standard for your rating, whatever level you're at, you're going to be good. If instructor needs you to come back and do a little bit more, you may have to do that as well. So it's now called flight review. Has to be every 24 months and an hour of flight and an hour of ground. That's one of the things to keep your license current. So again, another memory thing, you got to memorize it. Everything we've been hitting in this past 17 days, not everything, but a lot of things we've been hitting are the stuff that's going to start off the check ride. The beginning of the checkride is going to be documents. What do you have to have on your person? What do you got to do to keep your license current? What are your privileges as you can do, for example, private pilot. What can and can't you do as a private pilot? That's all the stuff that he's going to hit at the beginning of your checkride. Most likely, most examiners are probably going to do that. So you want to be really good with that stuff because you want to start your check right out on a good note. So all those things relating to you, your certificate, what you can and can't do, documents of the aircraft, that's where the examiner is going to start. So make sure you know all that stuff and you just know it. Boom, boom, boom, boom, boom. So anyway, thanks for stopping by and in the event you're interested in one of our hoodies, we've had these for a while now and they are nice.
