A live-demo YouTube session (Feb 9, 2018) where two instructors demonstrate ForeFlight on an iPad/iPhone. They cover how to download and subscribe to ForeFlight, configuring map downloads and distance/range rings, using the sectional and legend as a study aid, viewing chart supplement/AFD entries and FAR AIM, creating a flight plan (FPL) and navlog with computed leg distances, time and fuel, and interpreting sectional symbols (obstructions, Victor airways, VOR info). The speakers stress practicing on the ground before flying, that ForeFlight automates many calculations (wind correction, ETA, fuel burn), and that some examiners still require manual paper/chart work for checkrides.
