YouTube conversation led by Kenny Keller (with Todd Ketterman and another speaker) about whether H.O.G.S. helicopter online ground-school courses can transfer as college credit. Kenny cites a concrete affiliation: Madisonville Community College (Kentucky) uses HOGS courses and quizzes as part of its curriculum and records quiz completion for semester grading. He also explains that HOGS reports completed FAA written-test practice results to the FAA WINGS program every morning at 10:00am, and promotes askhogs.com (a 24/7 Q&A tool) and the channel's social media links.

So we're gonna do a laid back video just. Todd Ketterman is here. Helicopter CFI did both his commercial and CFI ratings with us here last summer with the final approach courses. He stopped by to visit. He's in the area. If you don't know yet, we have this thing called askhogs.com 24 hours a day, seven days a week. You can go to askhogs.com and you can either type in a question or you can click a button and speak to your phone or your electronic device. And you'll get a verbal answer from my clone. And we get a daily report from the clone on what people are asking about and things that might, people might want more information on. So we picked one here. There are repeated inquiries, inquiries, inquiries about the transferability of your courses to other colleges, indicating a concern for the long term value and recognition of the training received. So I would first say there is a college, it's called Madisonville Community College in Kentucky where they are using helicopter online ground school for their entire curriculum. In the school they go to the college for their flight training. Most of them are going on VA benefits. And then the college assigns them a HOGS course, whether it's private pilot, instrument pilot, commercial pilot or certified flight instructor. And they use the quizzes for all the lessons for their permanent college record. They assign them a lesson for this week, another lesson for another week, and then at the end of their semester for that course, let's say it's private pilot. We have FAA written test practice at the end of that course. That's not only available for FAA Wings credit, it is also their final test for their course as they're finishing up that rating. So as far as transferability to other colleges, that's the only really college affiliation that we have. In general, when you're going for your ratings, you're just, you got to know the material to go take the check ride.
Right.
You're not, it's not something you're doing normally to transfer that information to a college for credit.
Yeah. You're looking for an endorsement perhaps to go take a test.
Exactly.
Or credit. Got wings credit for certain things. Right, Right.
Which does answer another question. Are you recognized by the FAA? Yes. Our computers talk to the FAA's computers every morning at 10:00am and report any completed testing. That's in our FAA written test practice. Once those courses are completed and you've passed, every morning at 10am that reports to the FAA wings program. So daily that happens daily, it reports to the faa.
So would that question, then be more geared to folks who are, you know, maybe they're going to a college. They're in some sort of aviation administration program. I know Purdue offers like an aviation administration. They've got a. They've got a pro pilot, clearly takes them through whatever ATP. But then they've got an admin side where you take certain courses that go. So I'm curious maybe if that's what they're thinking. It's like if they could come here and then they get some sort of credit that the. That the college recognizes. But you said you've got a college.
You'Re working with, right? That's the only one that we have now. But we would be open to talking to any college that would want to work something out with us where our curriculum could be used or our training could be used. That's a great question in a college environment. So I think we'll wrap that up. Go check out our social media. Lindsey would love it because she's put a lot of time and effort into this and we'd love it if you went there and gave a, like, gave a comment. They're all down below. Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn. They're all there. All those links are down below the video. And ask Hogs Calm. If you have a question about helicopter training, go check it out. It's fun, it's free, and they're available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Peace out.
