Kenny Keller describes assembling a single comprehensive helicopter training notebook from many earlier tablets and ground-school materials; he uses it as the core reference for his teaching and requires students to pass his notebook test before checkrides. He cites specific memorized items (e.g., transponder/emergency codes 7500, 7600, 7700 and a "five Cs" mnemonic) and announces an upcoming online ground school to be built with Nick Logan based on this notebook.

Notebook together about 10 years ago. And basically I had so many different tablets floating around from all the different ground schools and places I'd been. And I decided, you know what, I need one good place to study. So I made this book and now if you look at it, the back cover is gone, the edges are all wore out and this thing's falling apart. And basically what I did was I took all of my notes from, from all the different tablets, this one tablet, that tablet, and I put everything together. And this has the meat of everything that you got to know. For example, the private rating and what I do before I send somebody for checkride is they got to pass my notebook test. And there's things here, like all the stuff that's the meat you got to memorize. Like for example, there's your code, 7500, 7600, 7700. Those are things you got to memorize. There's the five Cs and it goes on and on. It's all the meat of everything. And I've taught out of this thing for about 10 years and it's worked out real well. And that's what we're going to base our ground trading on. It's my notebook, so stay tuned as Nick and I put start putting this training together and we'll let people know the details and how you can get access to it and figure out how it's going to work. So stay tuned for our online ground school that's going to be put together by myself and Nick Logan and we'll be announcing some stuff on that very soon. So.
