Is the Far AIM manual. And there's a lot of people that seem to have a Far AIM and they tab the heck out of them and they pretend that they kind of know how to use it and what's really important. But again, through the stuff that I've been doing over the past 10 years, I find that guys don't really know how to use the FAR AIM or they don't know some of the tricks and things that are really important. And what I want to show you is right here is you want to go to the FAR AIM contents page and we'll say for the private pilot level there's only a few places if you're going to look up something in the Far AIM that you're going to need to go to. And the first one's going to be part 43. I take my highlighter, I grab the students Far Aim and I go, let me see your book. And they've got it all tabbed up and all open this page and I can tell they've never been there. So I say, well what's important on this page? And they kind of look around, don't really know. So, so I go, give me your highlighter, give me your Far aim. I take it and I highlight them, I go right across there. Part 43 Maintenance Preventive maintenance Rebuilding and Alteration examiner is going to ask you a question such as can you replace the landing light? Well, you have to be able to give him an answer. And if say he asks you about something that you're not sure, it doesn't mean it's going to be an automatic failure. It means you need to be able to go to the FAR AIM fairly quickly and look up what you want to look up. So if he says can you replace the landing light and you're not sure at that moment you can say, I'm not sure, but I can look that up in part 43 in the far aim he's going to go great. You probably never even have to open the far aim. But that's the point. There's one of the first sections is part 43. We take that and highlight that the Next 1Part 61 certification pilot flight instructors Pilots Flight instructors ground instructors part 61. Probably a lot of you guys have heard 61 is how you get your license. 91 is how you lose your license. So anything in part 61 is going to tell you the things that you're going to need to know to get your private pilot rating and these things examiners are going to ask you about so you want to be familiar with 61, what's in it? What do I have to do? Do I have all these things in my logbook and you're going to go through this stuff with your instructor or he should be going through these things with you step by step, making sure everything is covered before the day of your test. So I just mentioned 61. We'll go to 91 in a second, but I'm going to mark 67 as well. Take your handy dandy marker. Boom. Straight across Medical standards and Certification. If he asks you a question about your medical and you're kind of struggling with, you've read it and you know it but you don't remember, you never tell the examiner, well I don't know. You say I've read that because you have read it and you're having trouble. And he says okay, look it up. And if you can say I can go to part 67 and look that up, great. He'll probably say that's good enough. If not, you go to part 67 and you know where to go. So 67, medical standards and Certification. And then as I already mentioned earlier, part 91, general operating and flight rules. Again, 61 is how you get your license. 91 is how you lose your license. You go in and you break a reg something in Part 91, that that's how you're going to lose it. So you really need to be familiar with Part 91. And then the next one is take the good old highlighter. Make sure you have one of these in your bag. NTS V830, that's only a few pages long but you're going to see NTSB830 come up time and time again. It has to do with accident reporting and incidents. And the examiner is going to ask you about these things. You're going to see them probably on your pre solo written, you might see some of that, probably not more, more. So you're going to see it on your private pilot written test, guaranteed. You're going to see questions out of NTSB830. It's a short section, there's only two or three pages and there's a lot of information in those few pages. So basically bottom line right there is what you got to know. There might be something you look up in one of those other areas, but most likely probably not. So 43, 61, 67, 91 and part 49, those are going to be the areas that you're going to want to go to when you're looking something up. And there's a couple other tricks to using the far aim that we can cover at a later time. But that's a big one that I've been wanting to hit for. Since I've been talking about a lot of these different things and thought we'd go ahead and shoot something quick on the far aim manual. So, as always, thanks for stopping by and we'll see you all soon. Thanks a lot.
