Scroll down, see if it goes live. Should be live. Are we live? Refresh that page, would you, Gloria? There we go. Hell yeah. All right, gotta turn that volume down real quick. Always, always forget to do that. Yeah. Happy birthday, Helicopter Online Ground school. This is freaking cool. Hopefully get some people in here. Come on, we need some people logging in. All right, today, March 1, 2020, correct? Yes. I launched Helicopter Land Ground School eight years ago. And today we're celebrating the first as the eight years online. So we're going to play some helicopter trivia here, but I'm going to wait till we get some people in here because it's not shown anybody yet. So let us know you're here. Ah, I see Brian. Happy eighth anniversary, Kenny. Thank you, Brian. Awesome seven watching. So start logging in people. Let us know where you're coming from. Gloria, my daughter is here with me today. And it was kind of a fun story last night we were home, she was making cookies, pizza, what were they? Pizza, fruit, cookies. About 11 o' clock last night. And I said, you know, eight years ago today, as of last night, I was at the airport where I started this business all those years ago. Broke in desperation. And I'm not going to play the sad story for long, just for a minute. I'm living with my sister, driving my sister's car, so broke I can't pay attention. That's where I was eight years ago today. And I'd been working for several months building a series of video for our first line of videos inside helicopter and ground school. And I was in a panic that night before trying to figure out how to upload video to the original hog site. And back in those days you had to use a third party site, upload it with super slow Internet. So I'm going with this super slow Internet, uploading to a third party site, then taking a code from that and putting the code in the hog site, saving that and trying to get everything moved over. And I had a hell of a time. That was eight years ago and I knew nothing about computers. I knew nothing about anything. So my sister comes over and I can remember working late into the night, I can't remember what time I finally launched, but I knew it was after midnight and I wanted to launch March 1, 2012 as I'd been promising because I've been doing videos for 10 years. So two years was promoting my helicopter company and then getting ready to launch Helicopter Land Ground School. Because I had that vision for a couple years prior to launch. So for probably six months I was building videos and again, starting from scratch, knowing nothing. And I just. It was fun thinking back at home with my daughter last night about where I was eight years ago and where HOGS is now. Absolutely entirely freaking amazing. So being as today is March 1st and today is the birthday I launched eight years ago, we're going to give away a top 10 checkride book, we're going to give away a helicopter checkride book, and we're going to give away helicopter land ground school T shirt. We have a whole load coming in so we can take care of the giveaways over the next two weeks. We are going to do something cool every day for the next two weeks up through March 15th on my birthday. We did this last year and it was fun at that time. We were going live every single day with coffee with Kenny, and it was a lot of fun. And we did the biggest specials we ever had. Well, I had to beat that. So what I've built for this cell I just built today. Before I put it on the site, I built a code for KK50 that's 50% off. So you can get 50% off the private pilot membership. Either the monthly. The first month you get 50% off and that will go to the normal billing, or we brought back the unlimited membership. When we started helicopter land ground school, we had an unlimited membership where you purchased, you kept forever. And through the years of the marketing people I was learning from, they were like, kenny, you need to knock that off, man. You can't keep giving away all this hard work. Just leave it unlimited. Because, you know, a good business builds on its future and you're selling it too cheap and selling it unlimited. You just need to stop that. So we did stop that within the last couple years, but we occasionally bring back a special. So we've. I brought this back and I thought about it. I brought it back for the next two weeks where you can get unlimited on the private, unlimited on the commercial, unlimited on the cfi, unlimited on the instrument. So you pay one time and you keep it forever. No expiration. So we've discounted that at 50%. So you need the code KK50. You put that in the coupon box at checkout. So you can get 50% off the first month of the monthly off of private, commercial, CFI or instrument. You can get 50% off the unlimited, which means it does not expire. And this is a great freaking deal. At 50% off. I put the buttons back live. Those are normally hidden. You can't even purchase it normally. So we brought that back for this big special just because it's been an amazing eight years and I want to give back. And then we have the big professional pilot membership, which is private, commercial, CFI and instrument. All those memberships together, that's unlimited. That one's at 50% off. Call me crazy, Kenny, that's what we're doing, 50% off for the first month. Then you go to the normal month on any of the monthlies. We've brought unlimited back just for the sell off of any of those private, commercial, CFI or instrument. And we also have 50% off the big professional pilot. Alright, anything you need to look out there, Gloria, or is there just a bunch a lot of hellos and happy birthdays. Alright, so keep chatting or letting us know where you're logging in from. We got 29 people. I think that's about time to start some helicopter trivia. I think we'll just start with top 10 checkride tips. So what I'm going to do is I'm going to share my screen here in a minute and we'll start with the question we left off last week. Actually, let me go ahead and bring that up. Make sure I can bring it up. Okay. Make sure the audio is still working. So this is where we left off on Thursday night. Thursday night we did a little test run and I wanted to try it out and Heather's like, oh, why don't you wait till the sale starts Sunday? And I'm like, no, I can't stand it, I want to try it. So we went through the first five questions and these are from our private pilot membership. We have written test practice in all four courses. So I thought, you know what, let's go back to the private pilot. Because no matter who you are, whether you're working on your student, working on a private, or you're refreshing your private knowledge or you're going for your commercial, you need to refresh all your private stuff. If you're going for cfi you need to teach this stuff and this is the basics. But so many people forget lot of basic stuff. So we went through five questions and each time we would see who could put or who could plug in the correct answer in the chat. So this is where we left off. So we're going to do five questions, the first four for practice. The fifth question I'm going to give away top 10 checkride tips. Then we'll do five more after that for helicopter checkride and we'll do five more for the T shirt. So I'll get ready to go Here. So again, this isn't for the description box below the video because we're not refreshing that. We'd have to be refreshing that every 10 seconds and that just wouldn't work well. So get ready in the first four practice to answer in the comments and all you got to do is type in A, B, C or D. So Gloria is going to be monitoring these and then the winner on the fifth question, first one that types it in is the winner and we'll make sure that we. I'll have Gloria jot your name down and then we're going to have you email heather helicopterground.com with your shipping address because it's easy to get shipping addresses, you know, typos or things. So we want you to, if you're the winner, we want you to email Heather. All right, are you ready, Gloria? All right, so make my mouse over here on the correct page. First question. And this is good basic private pilot stuff. And I know a lot of people that A. I see Ross guessing the question. We're not on the question yet. So Ross's A does not count at this time in the chat box it's question six. Question five was from last week. So here we go. Oh, okay. What angle is the appropriate angle for a normal approach to land a helicopter? 45 degrees, 5 degrees, 15 degrees, 10 degrees. First one to answer is the winner of this round. Come on, somebody. Can't believe you haven't already typed this in there. Five degrees for A normal. Wrong C. 15 degrees. Wrong. Come on, people, huh? The answer is 10 degrees. It's D. So move, breathe, freeze. Was that the first one to get D, Gloria? Okay, so move, breathe, freeze. You are the first one. A normal approach to land a helicopter is 10 degrees. Man, I'm surprised how many wrong answers there were. Man, this is basic private pilot stuff. And this is the thing that we tell people all the time. Oh, well, you know, I already got my rating. I don't need to refresh my memory on anything. This is basic private pilot stuff. So get ready to go. Here we go. Next question. Oh, okay. Gotta mark it right. Okay, so it is 10 degrees. Let's go to the next one. Be watching. Gloria, what approach angle is appropriate angle for a steep approach to land in a helicopter? Is it 45, 5, 15 or 10? So we're waiting for the first correct answer. We are doing steep, so we are looking for who got it first. C is correct. Who got it first, Gloria? Brian. Alright, Brian, you got is 15 degrees for steep approach. Yeah, people out there flying Steep approaches at like 45 degrees. That is crazy. Alright, you got that Jaw down, Gloria, for you, the next one. Alright, so here we go to the next one. Again. The book is going to be on question 10, the first book. So let's go the next one. What angle approach? What angle is appropriate for a shallow approach to land a helicopter? Which one is. Is fun, isn't it, Brian? That's cool. I can see your comments in Lifetime. We're waiting for the first answer and it is B. Brian. Got it again. Looks like awesome. So yes, shallow approach on a helicopter, five degrees. All right, we're gonna do number nine and then the book's going to give away on question 10. Next question. Why does the helicopter have a VNE? Never exceed speed. Now think about this before you answer it. This is important. You're going to get this at the private pilot level. This is to prevent retreating blade stall. This is a manufacturer's determination considering the structural limits of the helicopter. The VNE is set by the FAA to prevent interference with commercial airliners. D. Both A and B. Correct. So the answer is D. Who was the first to get D? Move. Breathe. Freeze. Again, you are the winner for D. Yes, both A and B are correct for the V and E. Retreating blade stall is one answer. But if you answer that on your private pilot checkride, that is not the correct answer. It is also manufacturer's determination concerning the structural limits of their helicopter. And I know this. When I failed my private pilot check ride with the guy from the faa and he was very blunt about this question and it's the one Kenny Field. That's right, Brian. Yes. I got hammered by that, by the FAA on that question when I failed my private. So I know the answer to that one. Alright, so we got you guys tuned in. Awesome. So we're gonna go to the next question. This one is for the book Top 10 Checkride Tips. That's right. Sorry Gloria, I've been making you write everybody down, but none of those are giveaways. She's shaking her head, rolling her eyes at me. Sorry, I goofed and all. Excitement, man. I can't. I can't help it. Just saying. Alright, so now we're gonna do question 10. First one to answer this one's the winner. Everybody else has been winners. But just meaning you won against everybody else. This one's for top 10 checkride tips. Did I misstate this already? Okay, they're shaking their heads and I'm good. So here we go. First one in the chat box for the right answer. Is the winner of top 10 checkride tips. What is retreating blade stall? The advancing blade has reached its critical angle of attack. B. The retreating blade has reached its critical angle of attack. The retreating blade stops rotating. The retreating blade is turning at a slower RPM than the advancing blade. The answer is B. The retreating blade has reached its critical angle of attack. Who's our winner? Ross. Ross. Okay, so now we got me back on track. Gloria says Ross was the first one in chat to get that correct. So Ross, email heatherelicopterground.com give her your mailing address and she will ship you a copy of top 10 checkride books. She can get these books out in the next week because we have a whole pile of both books. So she will be able to send that out to you as the winner of that question. All right, we're going to do five more. First four for practice and just test all of your knowledge out there. And then number 15 will be the winner of helicopter trick ride. So here we go. Next question. What is the chord line? A. The top of the rotor blade. B. Invisible line from the leading edge up to the trailing edge of the rotor blade. C. The invisible line from the front of the helicopter to the rear of the helicopter. D. Helicopters do not have chord lines like airplanes. The answer is B. An invisible line from the leading edge to the trailing edge of the rotor blade. Who got that first? Awesome. Good job, Scott. Sorry you didn't win nothing on that one, but you're the winner. Alright, so we're gonna go to the next one. Remember, we're gonna give away helicopter Trek rite on question 15. Let's do the next one. What is relative wind? A. The airflow relative to the rotor blade. B. Speed indicated on the airspeed indicator. C. Relative wind is the air pushed downward by the rotor blades. D. Relative wind is the direction of the airport windsock. The answer is D. No, I'm teasing you. I'm just messing with you. The correct answer is A Airflow relative to the rotor blade. Scott again, man, you're on it. Awesome. Let's go to the next one. Question 13 of 100. And again, this is from the private pilot questions inside Helicopter Only ground school. So everybody that's a member has access to these on private commercial instrument cfi. Each one has a practice written test. And by the way, you can get FAA wings credit for completing this and scoring 70 or higher and you can print out a document. So this is straight from our course and we got a big announcement coming the end of this month. But one of the things that you'll be hearing about is how we're going to be updating the written test. We'll be checking all the questions and talking about the new updates with the FAA to the written test, along with some other great big news coming the end of the month. Oops, I changed questions. Sorry. All right. Are they answering this one already? All right, I gotta read it. I ended up talking too much. How does a rotor blade create lift? A beating the air in a submission. B Air flowing on the rotor blade creates low pressure and the blade lifts upward toward the low pressure. Bernoulli's principle. C. The rotor blade pushes air downward, creating a lift upwards. Newton's law. Both B and C are correct with a radio of approximately 7030 ratio. Alright, this is B. Airflowing of the rotor blade creates low pressure and the blade lifts upward towards the low pressure. Bernoulli's principle. Awesome. Alright, let's do one more freebie. Then we're going to go for the question with the giveaway, which is not a contributing factor to retreating blade stall. A Speed over V and E or high gross weight. B Steep abrupt maneuvers or turbulent air. C low rotor RPM D, low G pushovers. Answer here is D, low G pushovers. These things for retreating blade stall, you should have memorized VNE steeper brep turns, low rpm, turbulent air. Those are all factors to retreating blade stall. All right, so that was a freebie. Next One is question 15. This one is going to be the winner of Helicopter Checkride. So my daughter Gloria is on there. She's watching your comments to make sure she can track who the first one to give the right answer on this question. All right, here we go. Number 15, it's next. What will be noticed by the pilot if retreating blade stall occurs. And now this is a counterclock rotating system, by the way. Abnormal vibration pitch up of the nose and a roll to the left. Abnormal vibration pitch up of the nose, roll to the right. Or abnormal vibration nose will pitch down with a roll to the left. D abnormal vibration nose will pitch down with a roll to the right. So in a counterclockwise system this will be abnormal vibration pitch up of the nose and a roll to the right. So yes, we know. More and more people are now starting to fly the clockwise. Who is the winner on B? Gloria. I'm sorry, what's the answer? The answer is B. B. Grill Master. Grill Master. All right, Grill Master is the winner of Helicopter Checkride. So again, email heatherelicopterground.com with your shipping address. If you try to type it in here. Then of course you're giving your address to the world. Heather is in charge of shipping these books. She's got them all up in her office. We have tons. So she will ship starting tomorrow. So probably the next couple days she will get them shipped and you'll get them soon. So email heatherelicopterground.com to get your free paperback copy. We'll ship it to you. So the next is going to be four helicopter on ground school T shirt. So again, four more practice just to test your knowledge. Keep everybody going against each other. See who can type it in the fastest. And then on question 20, the winner will be winner of the helicopter on the ground school T shirt. So here we go to question 16. I'll try to stay on track. Here we go. One, two, three. What is the first thing that a pilot should do if retreating blade stall occurs? A. Apply general aft cyclic. B, lower the collective sum. C, Enter auto rotation. D, roll up the throttle and raise collective sum. The answer is A. Apply gentle aft cyclic to start slowing down. Who got it? Gloria. Scrap. Scott. Awesome. Still on it, man. You're doing good. Alright, so yes, retreating blade stall. You want to apply a little bit of aft cyclic and start slowing the helicopter down. Increase rotor rpm, minimize maneuvering, get the thing back under control. But the biggest thing is start slowing it down. Alright, let's go the next one. 17. Here we go. What is the critical angle of attack for retreating blade stall? A, 10 degrees. B, B, 15 degrees. C, 5 degrees. D, 0 degrees. The answer is B, 15 degrees. Who got B? Brian who? Brian. Brian got it. Awesome. Good job, Brian. Let's go to the next one. Remember, the winner is on question 20. Here we go to 18. What is the danger of entering a low G condition in a helicopter? A. Mass bumping the semi rigid system B. Droop, stop pounding. In a fully articulated system C. Both A and B are correct. D, none of the above. I'm going to go with. You know what I got to think about this one. Mass bumping a semi rigid. Yes, that is the problem. Droop, stop pounding. A fully articulated. Could be. Good thing I'm not giving something away on this one because I'm not positive I want to say A. But you know what could be B. Hmm. Well, I'm gonna have to check this and I have to check it in another course because you can't check your answers till the end of the course. So. Yep, we're gonna say this one doesn't count. I'm gonna go With A. But I could be B too. Look, I'm gonna have to check and we'll talk about that tomorrow. I'll check it tonight. Alright, so this one don't count. It's good thing we're not giving nothing away on that one because I'm not absolutely 100%. Screen's blurry. Still looks good here. I'm not sure why you're getting do what it does. Hmm. We got a good feed here. We got all kinds of. Just went good again. YouTube glitch, I guess. Alright, let's do the next one. What will the pilot notice when experiencing low G? Light in the seat and a roll to the left. And again, we'll say this is a counterclockwise system. Light in the seat and a roll to the left. Light in the seat and a roll to the right. Light in the seat and abnormal vibrations. Light in the seat, abnormal vibrations and a whooping sound. I'm going to go with. For a counterclockwise system, you get low G, you get light in the seat and the helicopter is going to start a roll to the right. So we're going to go with B on that one. All right, here we go. Number 20. This will be the last one of the day. This is for. No. Oh, this is not. Do what? Okay, so you want me to go to 21 for the giveaway because of. Bad question. Okay, gotcha. Good call, Gloria. Okay, so we're going to skip 18, we're going to do 20 and then the giveaway will be on 21. So let's go 20. What is the correct pikelet action when encountering low G, lower collective and some enroll on throttle gentle aft cyclic to read the road. Reload the rotor system and then correct for the roll. Correct for the roll using the cyclic D, move the cyclic rearward as abrupt as possible to reload the rotor system. Oh, it's not right answer is B. Gentle aft cyclic to reload the rotor system and then correct for the roll. Again, this is on a counterclockwise system. You have to go gentle aft cyclic first, then correct for the roll that we've been taught since absolutely day one. And the key term is gentle aft cyclic. All right, so 21 is the winner. Let's hope I have an answer for it. Hopefully don't go past my knowledge on a late Sunday afternoon. All right, here we go. For the helicopter online grill in school T shirt. And by the way, we have small, medium, large, extra large and 2x. So here we go. What is selling with power? My Favorite right. When the helicopter lands smoothly, when the helicopter begins to set on its own vortices. C, normal approach. D. Normal approach. The correct answer is when the helicopter begins to settle in its own vortices, it is B. Who's the winner? Move, breathe, freeze. All right, so There we go. Three rounds, three giveaways. So move, breathe, freeze. Email heatherelicopterground.com Let her know what size you want for your T shirt and also your shipping address for your T shirt because you are the winner. Was there any questions or anything that came up during that? All right, cool. So no questions. We'll just kind of wrap things up here pretty quick because it is Sunday night, people have things they want to do. We usually go to supper on Sunday night. So just some parting words. Eight years online, birthday is today. I'm freaking amazing. I got to thank absolutely everybody that has either a current member or been one of our past members or you subscribe and click the bell on our YouTube and you make comments or you're on Facebook and make comments on there. It's all part of the big picture and the fact that we've been online for eight years. Friggin amazing. You know, I really didn't. In my heart I thought I could do it and I knew the industry needed it, but you know, would it last? And very few people in the beginning, a lot of people, that was a good idea. But first few years was kind of rough, right? And people are going, man, why don't you just give it up and go get a job? And I could have many times given up and just went and got a job like everybody else, but I kept at it. So 14 more days of fun. We'll be back again tomorrow live. We'll do some more trivia, go over the discounts again. Yeah, go to the discounts again. Okay, so here's how it works. The code that you need to know is KK 50 and that is for 50% discount. So to give you the rundown, for those of you that maybe don't realize what we have, we have a private pilot membership that comes as a monthly option. So you can get 50% off the first month and then the second month it will go to the normal like $49 a month. You can keep it as long, as long as you like. You can cancel any times. For this special sale, we've brought back private pilot Unlimited means you get the private pilot course, everything's included. You keep it for as long as you need it. That is only a two week special through the 15th and then that will be be removed from the site. We won't offer it again. You can get 50% off that private pilot unlimited means, meaning it doesn't expire. You keep as long as you want, it'll be there for you. Next step, is the commercial important here? Commercial includes private. So if you go for the commercial membership, we tell people go through the private first to hone your private skills, then go through the commercial material because it's in addition to the private that's offered as a monthly membership. You can get 50% off the first month, then the succeeding months will be, I think those are 59amonth. Now keep in mind you can just do 30 days. You can do that first month at a 50% discount. Unsubscribe before the end of 30 days and you won't be billed again. Or keep the course. You can unsubscribe yourself by removing your credit card from within the site. Or you can do the same thing. Yeah, you can remove it yourself or we'll do it for you. Then we have a CFI membership. You can go monthly on that. That's 69amonth. But CFI includes commercial and includes private because we tell people, go through the private first. If you're going for your cfi, everything's fair game. Go through the private material, hone your good cemented private pilot knowledge, review all the commercial stuff, then go through the CFI material because it's about becoming a teacher. So, so you get private, you get commercial along with CFI. You can get 50% off the first month or we. Like I said just today I brought back CFI Unlimited. Meaning you keep that, no expiration date. 50% off. That's dirt cheap. The instrument pilot is a standalone course. You can do that monthly, 50% off the first month and then it goes back to the normal. I think that one's 49amonth. Keep as long as you like. Cancel anytime you can unsubscribe yourself, we can do it for you. So that's 50% off the first month and then goes back to the normal 49amonth after that. But again you can cancel after the first three weeks if you want to. You can cancel after two days. The monthlies all have a 24 hour test flight too. So you can go in and be build Nothing for the first 24 hours on any of those monthly memberships. And then the unlimited or instrument Unlimited, keep the instrument course forever. That's 50% off now through the 15th again we're doing eight years celebration online for helicopter and ground school since the launch, all the way through to my birthday, March 15th. Then we have professional pilot package. That is the private, that is the commercial, that's the CFI and that's the instrument. The instruments a standalone course except for with Professional Pilot. With Professional Pilot it never expires. You can get 50% off professional pilot right now through the 15th. 50% off. And let me say, we've never done 50% off anything ever in eight years. I think last year we went 40 or 42 or something. I thought, you know what, I'm going to give back. Because we've proved that after eight years, Phil kept delaying. Ground school is doing awesome and we're strong and it's going to keep getting better with lots of new things to come. So we wanted to give back this time around. So you can get 50% off through the 15th. The professional pilot membership, private, commercial, CFI and instrument. All you need is the code. When you go to the site@helopterground.com there is a link down below for helicopterground.com you go to our site and click on private, commercial, CFI, instrument or the Professional Pilot. You can watch a short video about what's included in the course. We explain again how you can unsubscribe to the monthly memberships, then click whatever it is, purchase, offer or checkout. On the last checkout page you'll see a coupon box. Enter that code KK50, click apply and I believe it will then show you the full price and the discount price which is 50% off. Alright, any questions? I need to look at here, Gloria. A lot of happy birthdays. That's awesome. Thank all of you. That's awesome. Yep, KK50 for 50 off. That's right where we located.
