Hover Autos Made Simple: Just Ease It Forward & Right

Kenny Keller teaches the hover auto technique for helicopters: gently push forward and right on the cyclic to keep the nose straight. Heather also covers a free pilot training resource and affiliate program for helicopter students.
All right, quick little tip for you. What I do in high hoverados, very gently when I enter it, I push a little bit forward and a little bit to the right with the cyclic to help try to move the helicopter this way. And I do that because early in my training at our flight school, somebody rolled a helicopter during a hoverado and it went like this, caught the back skid and rolled over. And the helicopter has a tendency of wanting to move left and move a little bit aft. So I just add a little bit, not a bunch. But when I enter the hoverado, I go just a slight push forward and a slight push right. And it just helps me keep that nose straight. And just a little tip that works for me.
