Kenny Keller walks through reinstalling dual flight controls in an Enstrom F-28F helicopter. The collective uses a pin retained on wire, pedals have three possible positions with center most common, and the cyclic requires two pins. All controls must be verified and locked before preflight.

Right here is our middle seat for when you're having the pilot plus two passengers. So to put the controls back in, we remove the seat cushion collective. We've got a hole right here in the top for a pin and a notch here that goes inside to lock the control in. Hole up. The pin stays back here on a little wire. We insert the pin, get the hole lined up, push the top of the pin down to lock it in, and that's how we install the collective. Once it's in, make sure the throttle works correctly, and then on the preflight, we'll release the collective, make sure it's all working, but it's firmly in place. Pins in there. That was working. There we go. Now we'll move on to the pedals so we have the collective firmly in place. Now we're going to reinstall the pedals, put the pins in here when we remove them so we don't lose them. So we take them back out, insert it here. There's three different positions you can put it in. Majority of the time, the center position works pretty good. We put the pin through this way. The hole is lined up, Push the pin through, and then we put the locking pin here so that it won't catch. On your feet. Take this out, Slide in there, center position, and lock in the pin. Nice and secure. Ready to go. So we have the pedals reinstalled, the collective reinstalled. Now we're going to reinstall the cyclic. Slide right in here on top, we have two separate pins, The holes. We have another pin for this side. Plug this back in so we can use our radios. Nice and secure. And there we go. Controls back in.
