Kenny Keller (of Portland Helicopters) speaks directly to viewers about how to get started learning to fly helicopters. He recommends scheduling an introductory flight as the most practical first step — stressing that hands-on experience is more revealing than reading or watching videos — and encourages viewers to book a lesson and follow the video series for more tips.

Hello, this is Kenny with Portland Helicopters. Have you dreamed of always flying helicopters? Could be a dream. Along with my dream of wanting to shoot a video by the ocean. Been wanting to do this for quite a while and now I'm getting my chance to do that. We can help you make your dreams come true. The first question a lot of people ask is, how do I get started? Getting started, the best thing to do is just schedule an intro flight. Find a helicopter somewhere near your area and schedule an introductory flight and go out and get your first helicopter lesson. You can sit and think about it all day long. You can read books, watch these videos, but until you go out and try it, you're not going to know what it's really all about. And the actual flying experience speaks for itself once you go up. So if you're wanting to know where to get started, schedule yourself an introductory flight and go out and give it a try. We're putting out a series of videos to help answer a lot of the questions that people ask about learning to fly helicopters. So get that introductory flight scheduled and keep checking back with us for some more videos and more tips on learning to fly. Thanks.
