A helicopter pilot explains why you should keep the strobe light on during shutdown to catch yourself if you forget to turn off the battery. Quick safety tip to prevent a dead battery next time you fly.
We always leave the strobe on all the time. The reason is if you walk away at any point in time, maybe you left the battery on. You go, oh, battery's on. Because you see the strobe flash and you can go back and shut it off. So we never shut the strobe off ever. It is always on all the time, never goes off. And it has saved me a couple times where I was somewhere, stopped to go eat and somebody goes, hey, your master's on. Always leave your strobe on. That way you can be 100% sure that you turn the master off. Oh, and by the way, for some more helpful information, Private Pilot 101 a helicopter training blueprint. Amazon number one best seller.
