You know, there's something to that saying, everything happens for a reason. Three years ago, we moved to where we are now, and I just walked in the door. This is now officially the Hogs Hanger. It's been the Hogs Hanger for three years. We've been leasing. Today it is now our hangar. Just came from the title company signed all the papers. It's now my hangar. So, you know, three years ago, the Plymouth airport manager said, oh, well, you know, we really don't have a space for a guy who only has a helicopter half the year. And I'd been at that airport for 10 years. But the 10 years I was there, I was there because of a man named Dave Latimer, who was a retired Indiana state trooper who became airport manager. And that was why I moved there 13 years ago. I was there for 10 years while Dave was the manager. And Dave took care of us, took care of me. I can't even tell you. You know, when times were tough, there was a point where Dave Latimer paid my rent because I was working so hard and trying so hard and the airport was getting ready to throw me out. And Dave the manager goes down and pays my airport rent. And I sold a handgun that I used when I was a police officer, so it meant a lot to me. But I sold it to a buddy gentleman who hung out at the Plymouth airport every day, drinking coffee in the morning became a good friend of mine. I sold my duty weapon so I could go pay my airport rent. And I walk in the door at the city and they go, oh, well, your rent's paid. I'm like, what are you talking about? And they go, dave Latimer was just here and paid your rent. That was Dave. And that's what Dave did for me back when times were tough. And anyway, Dave, at some point, Dave had to retire. And so three years ago, new airport manager comes in and he didn't really know me, not that he would care, right? And about my 10 years that I had at that airport. So anyways, he said, well, you know, I don't have room for a guy who only has helicopter half the year. And at the time I was using one owned by my good friend Dr. Nick, one of my first students of all time. And half the year Nick had it, half the year I used it. And when the airport manager says, well, you know, we're not going to really have a space for you anymore. I was even like, well, just give me a space, I'll pay for it year round. You can use it half the year, double whammy. It charge people for using the spot, but, you know, leave me a spot, right? And he's like, oh, I can't do that. Well, David always said, as long as you're here, there'll always be a spot for a helicopter for you, always. So anyway, I left kind of hurt, you know, But I found this place and luckily they gave me a great deal on a lease three years ago. And it's funny, all of a sudden you find yourself going, wow, this is where I'm going to finish out my career. That's kind of an odd feeling, right? But it's an exciting feeling because I don't have to worry about somebody buying it out from underneath me. The company that I leased from took good care of me. They were great for three years. But somebody came along, put an offer on it, so I had no choice. And luckily, I'm in a position now where today I could sign the papers and make it my hangar. So even though I had to move after being at that last airport for 10 years, it hurt at the moment, but it forced me out of my shell. We got over here and my business has grown for three years. And now nobody's going to say we don't have space for your helicopter. So let me show you around. You've seen bits and pieces, but now that it's official, I just want to show you around. I'll do the best job I can at holding the camera, try to make it fairly steady. Here's my dad's tractor that we just drug out of the tent, drug out of my sister's garage. Been sitting for years. 10 years. It was all dusty and stuff. Lost my dad 10 years ago. Anyway, it now pulls helicopter in and out, one of two helicopters. We're using two helicopters owned by Venture Helicopters. Dr. Jason Cutter owns the aircraft and luckily he lets us use one and he uses the other. And we're his maintenance base. So this is the north end of the hangar. This is our maintenance area where we can move helicopters in and out, take care of the maintenance. And, you know, maintenance area is not super pretty, but got it organized as best we can. So this is the north end. This is our maintenance area. All of our parts for the spare parts for the helicopter so we can keep them flowing for our members that are coming to fly with us. Here's the workbench that you saw for years at the last airport that we were presenting with. That was the old presenting table. And we rolled it around on this. So now that table you saw for years. That's a workbench. And this is a nice cabinet for the mechanics to keep all the maintenance books, maintenance manuals, all in one nice place. Here's the backside of the Hogs Wall of Fame. And we talk about the Hogs Wall of Fame all the time, of course, because we're super proud of it. And here's the Hoggs wall of Fame. Look at this. You know this started at the last airport, right, with the old wood paneling on those walls. Like I said, everything happens for a reason. So here's our studio area over here where we produce and make videos and go live. Scaffolding is our new work table, which is nice to move around, adjust as needed. We used both of those to put the blades on the one of the 269 helicopters. We've got our grill over here. We're going to be grilling out for the customers when they come to fly. We're going to have a blast. Nobody leaves the Hogs hangar unhappy. So all of our equipment's over here. We got a little kitchen area. Just got us a new fridge. And yes, the fridge is stocked up with burgers, hot dogs. It's stocked up with some brats buns. And there's gonna be more chicken, fish. Got a microwave coffee maker. We're gonna add, probably an air fryer so we can whip up some things real quickly. My dad signed Ken Keller field from. My dad built a baseball diamond at Triton High School many years ago on his summer off with no pay. And they ended up dedicating the field to my dad. So that's from my dad's field when they updated signs recently. We have a bathroom with a shower, which is nice. It's a wonderful thing to have a shower. You never know when you're going to be like, leaving or you come to work for the day and you got to leave for an appointment or something or go out. You can take a shower before you leave. So bathroom, shower, office area upstairs. Take a quick peek up there. This is where we keep. Excuse me. This is where we keep hugs, T shirts and hoodies and our main servers up here. And nice office has its own heat and air conditioning. We call it Heather's office. Just keeps everything nice and neat and arranged. It's just a little messy because she hasn't been here for a couple of days, but she'll be here shortly. And so there's our office. So there you go. Just wanted to share a quick story about how everything happens for a reason. Left there kind of bummed three years ago. But you know what have to say, I guess I'm glad they didn't have room for helicopters at the Plymouth airport because it turned into all this. So we've got two H269 aircraft. Let's see if I can set this thing down. You can fly with us here in north central Indiana in the H269. Second aircraft is down with Jason Cutter at Frankfort Municipal Airport in central Indiana. You can fly either location. Here at Hoggs we have a discovery flight one day come for a full eight hour day, fly three hours and then we have a. Excuse me, a mini course for somebody who wants to like transition or just wants to really get the good H269 Schweitzer experience. Three full days, eight hours a day, nine hours of flying and then we have a five day final approach course. You're having trouble lining up an examiner and a helicopter instructor and sign offs and the whole ball of wax. We have two examiners we've been working with for 20 years and we've got the hookup for you. So if you need to finish, contact us. Information is down below this video for a final approach course. And then we have a 30 day accelerated course to private pilot. And it's intense. 30 days you walk in the door, 30 days later you leave as a private pilot. It's going to take some work but it can be done. We've proved it. You have access to hugs. We'll do zooms with you before you get here just like we will with the fac and we'll get all your ground and stuff ready before you ever walk in the door. So the day you walk in, you start flying and those are all available details@helopterground.com and or text or call Heather at 574-767-71797. Somebody's knocking at the door. So peace out. Catch you next video. All right, here we are. That was the landlord knock on the door earlier. I just ran outside. I don't hear, I'll put, see, can you hear him still sizzling. That literally just, just came off the grill. Can you see him? So Jenny will be here first. Jenny, we're going to cook for you. Kyle's going to be here for an fac. We're going to cook for Kyle and everybody, everybody, everybody loves my burgers. So here we go. When you come here to fly with us, Hot off the grill. Literally I just went out there and pulled them off the grill. I wish I had a mobile camera going So I could show you the little. You know what? Little charcoal grill. You know what? Some of the best food I make, it's on this little charcoal grill. I got a big fancy gas one at home. This gas and charcoal. This little charcoal grill out there given to me by a friend. I moved in the house I have. Amazing what you can do. We're going to eat like kings when you come to fly with us. I'll finish my burger soon. We're done. Heather's got the next pictures ready to go up here, and I'll just walk over there. I need to drink my cook after that burger. Nobody leaves the Hogs hanger unhappy. Oh, yeah. We want to tell this video. We got a bag of hats. Bag of hats, bag of hats. And look at me. You've never seen me wear a hat in a video since 2010 when I started making videos. So the first time in 12 years you've seen me in a hat. So going up on the Hogs wall, we got Nathan Hawkins, private pilot. Add on Jim Hardy going up again. He's up already as a private pilot. He is now going up as commercial pilot. And then we have Sai Nakami Nakama. And Heather goes, oh, my gosh, look at him. He's so cute. So there's the next three going up on the Hogs wall of fame. And you can see the boat's kind of blocking it, but it's filling up. We're going to have to pull that last panel out, start filling that up, and then we don't know what we're going to do. So, you know, funny thing is, I watched a lot of gurus. I'm not complaining anymore. I learned what. I learned to do what I do with Hogs online video. Building membership sites, getting customers, taking care of people. And one of the guys said, you can lose it all and you can get it all back. And 10 years ago, when I had to sell everything and I was in the dumps, I had to sell a piece of property that I owned for 20 years. It was a 40 by 70 pole building, had a bathroom, always wanted to put a shower in. But it was where I ran my towing service for 10 years. And then it was the beginning of Hogs. I started doing videos there years ago, actually trying to promote the helicopter company before Hogs. And I remember him saying, you know what? You can lose it all and you can get it all back. Well, when the helicopter business went down the tubes and I had to sell that property, I just had to. I had no choice. 10 years ago, 10 years ago or 10 years today. I signed the papers and now this is. This is mine. And before I had a 40 by 70. Now I have like a 40 by 100. And now I have. I had a nice office there. I have a better office. Had a bathroom there. But it wasn't as nice as this. Now I have a bathroom. So you see how you can lose it all and you can get it all back. You know the shop, I called it my shop. You know, I used it for tow trucks in the beginning, heavy duty ruckers. I had Big Mac tandem axle trucks and did semi tractor trailer hauling and used to go out and flip semis over and haul them in. It was fun. Anyway, when I had to sell that property, that hurt. That hurt bad, man. It was like. But I got it all back. And I got it back even better. So the fact is you can lose it all and you can get it all back. So we're excited today. We just wanted to throw that out to you and show the world, hey, you know, proud of that. So we're gonna give away hogs ball cap. So here you go. I got the first one. First hat I've worn forever. Heather didn't even know who's here today. She was like, oh my God, who was that behind the computer when she walked in? So I got the first one, gave Nick one. Terry Walker's got one coming. Means we had and we gave away one Tuesday. So it means we have like eight left. So in our bag of hats, the next person. And we're not even going to do a warm up question. I'm just going to find something in here. I'm going to ask a question and the first person to answer correctly, please try to answer the exact question. Try to use proper pronunciation so we know exactly what you're talking about. And Heather's going to send you the hogs ball cap. Last week, the winner is on the fire department down at Bell Helicopter. We found out after the fact that was really, really cool. So let's find a. You know what? Let's find a weather question. Let's find something. Because weather is say people tell us. I did a poll four or five years ago. What are you struggling with? To our customers. And number one, I believe was weather. Number one was weather. So let's find us a weather. Oh, so many good ones. But I want to make it too. I want to make it easy to answer. See? And a bunch of things we've already asked already. Da, da, da da. All right, I'm going to ask the easy one. Oh, wait a minute. I had another idea, didn't I? You know what? This will be a bonus. We're going to do a warm up question. But any of you that are remotely even interested or been doing a student, you should know this. This is from the Private Pilot Study guide. Operations manager spent Brian Rutledge spent three years. Three years, spent three months last month. Not last month. Jesus, I better end this up quick. Last summer Brian spent three months putting this together. Over 400 questions. And yes, you can use it prepare. Even though it's called private pilot, it's good for commercial pilot and cfi because the stuff you got to know, you got to know it well at the private level. Know it better at the CFI level or at the commercial level and CFI level, you got to teach it. There's a link down below on Amazon for this. It's a hefty book. It's a nice book. Over 400 practice questions. So second question will be even easier if you watch the beginning of this video. And this is a warm up question so you just get a yay and a pat on the back when you answer. What distance should be maintained from thunderstorms? At least how many miles? Tell me. Type in how many miles in chat. How many miles or more should you be away from a thunderstorm? This is basic private pilot 101 and people still use the same 20 miles. Paul. Paul, man. Paul is on it. All right. He is getting good at this. Paul bangs them answers out. Private Pilot study guide. Over 300, over 400 questions. It's awesome. It's good stuff. Links down below. And don't forget we are helicopter online ground school and we've been talking a lot about helicopters the last six months just because we're excited about them. Don't forget we are helicopter online ground school. We help you with private pilot, commercial pilot, CFI and instrument ratings. You can go month to month on a private. You can go month to month on an advanced where you get everything. We have special 101 packages. They're listed on our website, helicopterground.com if you see something you're interested and you want to talk to somebody. Heather has the phone line seven days a week at 574-767-1797. You can text her or you can call her and you can even email her. Heatherelicopterground.com which is who you'll be emailing when we give away the hat here. Just a minute. So don't forget who we are and what we do, we're helicopter ground school. We just showed you three more members going on the HOGS wall of fame. This is what we do. The helicopters, honestly, the helicopters are a benefit to our members and they're for me to get to go play and have fun. Excuse me. Heather even said last week, she said, you know, you're really not making a lot of money on these helicopters. And I said, yeah, I know, right? We work hard at ground school to make it a good business and basically the HOG supports the helicopters now and eventually, hopefully the helicopter will support itself. But we added the helicopters again as a, as a benefit to our members. So when you see the prices and you go, oh my God, this is so expensive. No it's not. Helicopters are plain, hands down inexpensive. And you're coming here to fly because you're getting expert instruction and you're not getting run around and you're flying nice equipment, well maintained, with a super mechanic on board, making sure they're in shape. So our flight training is a benefit to you, our ground school members. You must become a member before you come here to fly. It can be as simple as the monthly option or you can go for one of our larger packages and you can self sign up@hospitalopterground.com and remember we have a 24 hour test flight on the monthly options. So you can go in for 24 hours, check it out and then keep it for a month and you got 30 days to try it out, still have a money back guarantee on top of the 24 hour test flight. So there is no reason to not go check it out if it's not right for you. Unsubscribe in the first 24 hours, we part as friends and we'll see you when you come back later. Because we've had people that got on, we've had people that refunded and then went and failed a checkride and then came back and said, can I rejoin? I failed my checkride. We constantly hear the horror stories in the helicopter industry. Oh, my instructor did this, my flight school did that. The helicopter's down, the instructor left. We can't get an examiner. We hear the horror stories every single day. We know they're out there. I always say it. There's a ton of instructors out there doing a great job and, and there's a ton of flight schools out there doing an amazing job as well. But there's also a lot of horseshit that goes on out there that shouldn't go on and people get frustrated. It is expensive. But if you come here, you're getting the full Hogs experience, the whole full Hogs treatment. You're not going to have yin yangs taking care of you. You have expert help. We have the facility, we have the maintenance, got the hotel set up for you. So for the bulk out, because I want to eat my burger. In the beginning of the video, I stated how many years we've been here prior to now before I bought the hanger today. Sign the paperwork. Hot off the press. It's mine. First person that says how many days, how many years have we been at the Hogs hanger? Paul G. You got it. Paul, do you have a hat yet? He probably won one before. Paul, do you have a hat? I guess to be fair if you. Paul, did you have a hat? Or Paul, do you have a hat? Paul, do you have a hat? No? All right, Paul, you got it. And you deserve it because you have, you have, you have done well, my friend. So here's Paul's hat. I'm gonna hand it over to Heather. Paul, you know the drill. Email heatherelicopterground.com with your shipping address and Heather will ship it out like right away. So we got some new videos coming. We're gonna do a startup and shut down video for the H269 Schweitzer helicopter. But we're also gonna go out and film a diversion, which will be a new video inside private pilot. The diversion video that we have is really, really old. And I made it years ago, like long time ago. And Brian Rutledge, our operation manager was getting ready to do it and he said, you know what, why don't you and Nick do it. Have Nick come up with a presentation on what a diversion is all about and what you're going to do. And then we're going to take that example. We're going to go out and get the helicopter and we'll film the startup video, we'll go do the diversion video and we'll do the shutdown video. One flight, boom. We got three new videos for helicopter on ground school. And the H269 is available with private pilot or advanced pilot. So if you're on any of the memberships, you get that along with R22 specific, RF44 specific, and term specific. And now we're building the H269 Schweitzer videos. People say, well, how long are you going to have before you have this video? Give us time. You know, we're getting the flight training up and running. We're going to start Shooting video. I didn't shoot video. We've done a lot of flying. But I wanted it to be about me and Nick getting comfortable in the aircraft and getting comfortable together before we started filming. Because we want to be professionals in the cockpit, not in there. Like we're mowing around trying to figure things out. Right. So Paul, email Heather, go down below. If you want a self sign up for helicopter line ground school, go down below I Heather's numbers down there. 574-767-1797. If you go for a final approach, of course we're gonna feed ya. Sarah Green says hi. Sarah, when are you coming to fly last? I talked to Sarah, we were gonna go to heli Expo and then I stayed home because I was gonna go to see Corn with my daughter, which I'm glad I did. It was amazing concert. Oh my God, it was unbelievable. Sarah, the helicopters are up and going. I'll be no one even come fly. So June or July. Awesome. I might see you before then. Sarah, you probably don't know this. I'm gonna run out in April to fly with Dave Faulkner because Dave is going to give me my flight review in R44. I have R44 time. I'm qualified in R44 time. I just haven't flown one in a while because we do have one coming to. Hugs. And we have one R44 final approach customer scheduled now. Aircraft should be here in a couple weeks. We don't talk about it a lot just because I don't want to promote it. Super heavy. And then something falls through with the deal. But the deal is supposedly done. They're installing air conditioning in it and doing a couple other things. I should be here soon. So I'm going to run out to fly with Dave Faulkner just because I've been wanting to. I've been out of the country or out of the state hardly since COVID So I was going to go out and hang out with Dave and Sarah. He is in Southern California. So if you're still in Southern California, let you know when I come out because I'm going to run out, fly with Dave. I bring Gloria with me, come out for a few days. So, Sarah, I will let you know when I get ready. Head that way. So peace out. Thanks everybody for tuning in. Paul, enjoy your hat. I'm gonna eat my burger and we'll see y' all in the next video. Peace out. Yum.
