Hey, it's Kenny with helicopter Land Ground School for Fun video today. It's Saturday. Had a great week. This is day two of Live every day in May, and I want to answer a new member question. He just signed up and right before he signed me up, he sent me an email. He had just met one of my instructors named Eddie. Eddie is one of my instructors from way back remain one of my best friends to this day now flying ems. So this question from Mike is a police officer always dreamed of flying for helicopter EMS and somehow ended up at my buddy Eddie's EMS base to talk to him about chasing his helicopter dream. And so I want to say go for it, number one. Number one, he asked me about a particular flight school they'd heard about, and I actually know those individuals he's asking about. And those guys have a great reputation. Mike. They've been working with my examiner for many years. I know over eight. And he works with them very closely and says there are a bunch of great guys. So I have nothing but respect for that flight school. So I would say you're in good hands with those guys. He mentioned their 141 program, and he needs to use the GI Bill. So you're set, man. That. That is where you should fly. I know the area where you're living and that won't be super far for you. I think it's a very good choice. Probably the best choice for you. The closest, that's 141. So yes, on that question. That's a great flight school. Go for it. And your question, you know about being a police officer and want to go for your helicopter EMS dream? Well, I did it. You know, I am past Indiana law enforcement officer. Glad I did it. It was awesome. And then I became a helicopter EMS pilot later on, and I'm glad I did that as well. The five years I spent in ems, I learned a ton. It was great experience. You know, the amount of things that we learn going to every different job, every different style of flying, going new places, flying to different aircraft, flying with different Czech airmen and examiners and instructors and students. Everywhere you go, you learn something new. So basically he was just asking me about the flight school. I said, yep, go for it. And he was asking me about, you know, that I'd be a good motivator for his dreams. Well, I am a great motivator because I am a dreamer, and that's what I've done all my life. And I've done just about everything I said I was going to do. I've done. And there was always somebody that told me that I couldn't make it or I wouldn't make it. And every time they said that I couldn't do it, I found a reason to do it. And even flying helicopter EMS was one of them. This is back when I'm still a police officer. And as being a police officer I know what happens, right? You get excited by getting called out to scenes and the helicopter flies in and picks up a patient. And you know, being around that emergency environment, I get how you get hooked on helicopters. I did the same thing. I was inspired by the movie Blue Thunder back in 1983 or whenever it was back in the 80s, just as I was getting a kid, a kid getting out of high school. And I knew I wanted to be a police officer and I knew I wanted to fly helicopters after watching that movie. But I grew up as a kid loving helicopters. But that movie kind of pushed me over the edge. So I did it. You know, I left the police world and became to pursue helicopters full time is exactly why I left. I could have stayed longer, but I didn't. And so what motivation do you need? Sign up for helicopter land ground school dude and go for it. Probably ought to go for the professional pilot member. I think you signed up as the, as the private membership, which is fine. You can do that and come and go as you please throughout your ratings over time or you can also go for the big professional pilot package. We're there for you. You do have a half hour phone consultation coming to you from Brian Rutledge, our operations manager. And Brian is a just retired from 25 years in law enforcement and as a helicopter and airplane cfi. So he can give you some great insight as but we will be there as your cheerleader. So what do you need to know? Go for it, man. Go for your dreams. There's always naysayers, always, always people that are going to whine and complain and say you can't do it. But you know what? That's with any profession, anywhere, anytime, there's always naysayers, people that say you can't do it. So you know what I say? The people that say you can't do it. Here we go, let's do it. Here we go, let's do it.
