Short instructional video (December 12, 2022) demonstrating a two-step helicopter pickup procedure to avoid dynamic rollover. Speaker A narrates a step-by-step walkthrough: (1) make the aircraft 'light in the skids' by gradually raising collective while monitoring RPM and preparing pedal input, pause and neutralize controls once light, then (2) gently lift the helicopter off the ground. Heather provides contact information for follow-up questions and sign-up help.

Experienced pilots roll these things over from not doing a good two step process. The key to a good pickup is a two step process. Step number one is get the aircraft light in the skids, pause, neutralize all movements and then step number two is gently lift the aircraft into the air. The first thing I want to do is get the helicopter light in the skid. So I'm raising collective. I want to be ready on the pedals. I know I'm going to have to add left pedals. I add power looking at my rpm, looking outside. I want to get the aircraft light and I want us to start to move. I'm going, they'll the nose go up or down and skids want to go left or right or nose go left or right. As I gradually raise, I want to get it light. So I'm just, I'm doing this real super slow. I'm still pulling collective, I'm pulling a little more, trying to keep cyclic centered. And I'm still racing, still raising. We're up to rpm. Aircraft should start getting light here pretty soon. I still don't feel any changes in the aircraft. I'm still gently raising collective, still raising. That's a hot day. Okay, we're finally getting a little bit of movement. I'm adding a little bit of left pedal. Okay. So the left suit started to come up. So I'm pushing a little left cyclic nose feel is going down. So I'm going to go half cyclic there. I'm light. Step number two, I got it neutralized. Now I'm ready to pick up. So here we go. Step number two, gently lift the helicopter up off the ground. And that is your two step process. Experienced pilots roll these over from not doing a two step process. You get in a hurry, you don't take your time and then before you know it, boom, the helicopter's over on its side.
