Kenny Keller (Creator Helicopter Online Ground School) presents a walkthrough of a newly added Robinson R22 Advanced Autorotation section inside the R22-specific Online Ground School. The video demonstrates the module UI on a mini iPad (also noting parity with computer and iPhone layouts), lists the Advanced Autorotation subtopics (entry, recovery, common mistakes, RPM effects of controls, demonstrations), highlights paired classroom and in-air instruction by Brian Rutledge and Dave Redmond (Odyssey Aeronautics), and points out student progress tracking and downloadable materials. The host endorses the instructional method and recommends the section.

Hello, I'm Kenny Keller with Creator Helicopter Online Ground School, and I want to give you a look at the new Robinson R22 advanced autorotation section inside our Robinson R22 specific information inside Online Ground School. So we currently have an introduction, R22 pilots operating handbook, Robinson R22 preflight. And we now have the Robinson R22 advanced auto rotation section that we just added, along with a download section that we're adding as well. And I'm demonstrating this for you on the mini iPad. So you can see how the iPad basically matches exactly how it looks on a computer on an iPhone. It looks similar to this. The screen's a little smaller, so it's laid out a bit. A little bit differently, but all in all, still works pretty much the same way. So here's a peek at the Robinson R22 advanced auto rotation section. We have auto rotation entry. Autorotation recovery. Autorotation recovery. Common mistakes. How control inputs affect RPM collective and RPM cyclic and RPM cyclic and RPM demonstration. Why the RPM changes with cyclic input. Cyclic and collective. Cyclic and collective demonstration. And then the end goal, and the neat thing about this is Brian Rutledge is responsible for going out with this instructor from Odyssey Aeronautics. They do both classroom and they do the flying. So they're giving you the take on both. They talk about in the classroom. And then there's footage of them completing these maneuvers out in the aircraft. So it's really neat because I like Dave's take on it. Dave Redmond is the instructor along with Brian. And Dave explains how with auto rotation, some instructors just take guys out and just start going, okay, this is an auto. And just starts doing it. And Dave goes through the process and explains his method of teaching autos, how he breaks it down in sections and starts to ease the student into it. And it's a really good section. I really liked it. I picked up a few things that I think I'm going to start using after watching these videos with Dave. He does an awesome job. And I want to mention the tracking. Check this out. You can see I've been all the way through these videos here. I've been through these. I haven't watched these quite yet. So this is showing you student progress tracking, which this is exceptionally, exceptionally cool. So if you'd like to learn more about the R22 specific section inside Helicopter Online Ground School, there's a link below this video to our secure site. So go below.
