We are clear left forward and above and clear to the right. We're all good. So nice slow pickup. Eyes outside. Get light on the skids. Two stage pickup. Get real, real slow. As a race collector. Maybe a little left pedal. There you.
Go.
There you go. Clear left. We're going right. Clear. Right side stepping, tails clear behind us. We're gonna pedal turn to the right. And we're heading into the one. Now we can head over the grass. Clear. Clear. So I'd say we do first we'll go out here and then we'll just do a normal traffic pattern to get things loose. Yep. I'm gonna pull a little bit of carb heat. Just get that needle out of the yellow. Got it. Clear right. Should we use 18 or. I'd use 1 8. Earlier when I was flying with your dad. Just like what we were flying this morning. They were using airplanes. Were using two seven. I like one eight. I mean, because we can go down the Runway. Yeah. And we want off to the left. And we got no tail interference. Yeah. Nice and slow. Clear to the right. Clear to the left. Yep. Coming on the bravo. Make a call that we're. You guys want to bring that sucker back a little bit still. Clear left board and clear to the right. If you just want to go straight across, just make a radio call that you're entering the approach in one way. 18 just. Yep. Stay on top of the wind there, 1 8. Ready for a right traffic on the go or not on the go yet or something. A little long there, but we'll figure it. Yeah, we'll come over here, get in a nice stable hover. We'll line up with the Runway. Yep. There you go. Nice. We'll just slow it down there. That'll turn to clear right. We'll come in a nice stable hover. No warning lights. All the gauges are in the green. We're good on feel for what we're doing. Car beats out of the L. Nice and slow. Helicopter 346 Victor. Hotels on the go. 18 right. Traffic Warsaw. Yep. Just using those pedals to maintain your heading. Yep. Over the center line. And wind's coming from the right. So our tail's nice and efficient. Yep. And we're going. Pulling to 40. Want to balloon up. Good job. Fight through that. So as we climb up, you can kind of see how we were over the center line. That wind's pushing us a little bit to the left. Yeah. So we'll need to counter it. Yep. Yeah. And see that wind stock straight Out. So that's what I was talking about this morning when it's straight out like that. So right now 15 knots. Yeah, we got 15 knots coming out of our left. So, yeah, we're just gonna have to. Maybe not a ton. Just a little bit of cyclic pressure and a little bit of nose can to the right just for trim. Yep. Using those pedals, staying in trim. We'll keep climbing up. Pull a little more pressure. Yeah, you got air pulling 21. So we're good there. I mean, you still have plenty of power. Yeah. 21, 20. Bring that air speed back just a little bit. You'll get. You'll probably climb up to about 6 or 700ft. They're already at 600, so. All right, clear your left forward and clear to the right. Turn and right. Make a cross 1. Call if you just want to keep. If you want to call every leg just to get more Ready, that's fine. Yeah. War traffic helicopter 346 Victor Hotel is on a right. Cross one for. Sweet. That's not your dad. What I do. I'd kind of just split these roads. Okay. I guess that way we end up on the roundabout road. Yep. I just. Yep, we'll use that. I'd say that's roughly approximately a half a mile from the Runway, if I was guessing. Yep. Yep. If you just want to bring that airspeed back a little bit. We'll keep our climb in on our down one. We'll climb up to at least 500ft, maintain at least 60 knots. So if we did have an engine failure, we got airspeed to play with to get into our spot. So, like, just when we turned downwind, I thought, okay, if I have an engine failure right now, I'm going right here to this open area. So I'm constantly thinking of, where am I going if I have an engine failure? Even though I know the wind's behind us, if I have an engine failure, I'm shooting here because I got houses here. I don't want to go off to my left. Yeah. Get a little bit of room. Yep. Of course, the ones behind us too. So you could always pull to the right and do a 180. Yep. Traffic helicopter 346 Victor hotels on a right down one for one. A horse. Yep. So we beamed our spot. Pre landing checks. No one on the top of the gauges has been green. We're good on fuel. Carpets are good. So if you want to lower that collective to start our descent, as we lower, a little bit of right pedal, maybe a Little half cyclic bring the air speed back to about 60 or 65. 65. Start lowering U.S. down. Yep, we climbed a little bit but that's okay. Yep. So we're. You're clear left forward and clear to the right. Let's do it. Warsaw traffic, Aztec 62745 is going to hold line up and wait on 27 for the downwind traffic for Runway 18. Warsaw. Okay, so he's waiting for us clear for clear traffic. Helicopter 346 Victor Hotel was on right base. Turning final now for 18 Warsaw. I call full stop just to let him know we're under than making any more traffic or are we probably good if you just want to keep flying it in real quick. So yeah, another traffic at war saw this. 346 Victor Hotel, we're going to shoot approach to 18 new hover work. So Runway departing traffic 427, you're clear. Sweet. I was just about to ask. Thank you Sir. Good flight. YouTube. So normal approach. Yep. So as we. I'll slow it down a little bit so you bring that airspeed back. But like I said, typically what I use is the top of the all strings. So we'll start bringing that airspeed back. Watch our descent rate. So as we start slowing down, which like your BSI's got two types of. It's got a trend in a rate. So it's gonna initially show an initial rate and then once it stabilizes, which I think the book says six to nine seconds. So. Yeah, because it's got a little delay, right? Yep. Okay, sweet. Yeah. Because we're edging up toward our 200. Yeah. Because it was showing 500 for that little. When I was bleeding air speed. So and as always, collective controls your angle, cycle controls your rate. And then about, like I said, About 100ft, I send my eyes out to the end of the Runway using my peripheral vision to keep my spot in. So now like right now I'm looking at the end of the Runway, but I can see 18 using the bottom of my peripheral. My vision. Yeah, I'm just going to keep using that as I approach my spot. And like I told you this yesterday as well, I used to stare at my spot and I'd always come up about 50ft short. So using my eyes in the end of the Runway, using my peripheral vision, Since we got time if you want to we can do one more. That was a normal approach. We'll do a steep approach. We'll get. Let it get a little bit steeper. I'll show you something. So we'll do a steep approach and then we'll come back and do some hover work. Sweet. So no wonder that's all the gauges are in the green. We are good on fuel. Carpets out of the yellow. We are clear left, forward and to the right. He's on. Well, just hanging out for you for a second. Yeah.
Hey, this is a prompt to video. We're just going live on our last day of our 13 year cell and we're sharing some R22 content with you. That is our newest CFI Hunter Gamble and he's a brand new instructor so he's done some filming so far going out by himself. We edited out I think 12 new videos inside Hogs Robinson R22 section. So you can just go in and see a brand new CFI going out and working on his verbiage of how he's going to talk and things he's going to say. And then this is his second student he's been out with. So what we're doing, we're trying to film as much as possible of the R22 content and then a lot of that's going to go into either the R22 section. Some stuff is going to go into like the CFI section for new CFIs learning to talk. We have a CFI applicant right now who is really sharp on the ground but he's struggling a little bit in the aircraft. So we shared some of these videos with him and we're going to do another video soon, within the next day or two on to help people that are going for their CFI or they're brand new and they're struggling with verbiage in the aircraft. So we're going to shoot some of that as well. So a ton of content coming to the Robinson R22 section in side Hogs. We've already got a bunch of updates and there's going to be more. That's the focus as we end this 13 year cell. Next month we're gonna be flying with some students. We're gonna be flying the advanced autation course and finishing up a couple of final approach course members and shooting new R22 content. Update, updating the R22 course. So I'll have Lindsey let her know she's got some slides ready for you. I'm gonna tell you about the cell. Are you ready to bring up a slide?
Yep.
Bring up the first one. So our monthlies have been at $97 for years. We didn't inflate the price like everybody else. Has during the last four years of prices shooting our monthlies have stayed at $97. So before midnight tonight you can sign up for a monthly. So you're going to save 4850amonth and that 4850 is good as long as you keep that monthly membership. So 4850 right now that is less than what we were charging in 2016. 2016 I think we were at 49amonth. So you can get any monthly membership right now for $48.58 50 cents a month. And then if you want to go for a 12 month membership the 12 month memberships are 697. Normally right now it's 50% off. So you can get a 12 month membership for $348.50 and get that by midnight tonight so you can get 50% off. 348.50 is what you save and what it will cost you. And then lifetime. I think we have just on the private pilot that's normally 997. You can get that before midnight tonight. 498.50 is what you save and that's the price you pay. And you're going to need the code Lucky13. When you go to helicopterground.com enter that code and you will see that discounted price. And then propilot I'm going to tell you about a choice of goodies you get. Propiler is normally 2,800. It is on sale 50% off. So you can get professional pilot until midnight tonight for $1,400. And as soon as Lindsey goes back to the camera will show you that with the pro pilot you can get the famous hogs ball cap. It's the trucker style hoodie. We really really like this hat we all stuff we buy is nice stuff. This is a really nice hat. You called it a hoodie. Okay. Trucker ball cap. It was a wild weekend. I'm still recovering actually. I'm getting over being cold. A bad cold last week and then the hot one that everybody's been seen to be going for the. This is. You've seen them in our videos. This is packaged up brand new with pro pilot you can get the badass knee board. A young guy makes these and he sent me one years ago and I ended up using them and I've been using them in videos. So I don't sell these. I buy them as giveaways. I buy them from him at a discount if you're interested in picking one up. It's Moa Gear, not gear moa gear.net or search badass kneeboard on YouTube. You can get that with propilot or you can get the Hogs backpack. I carry one of these. I've been carrying it for a year and a half now. Every day back and forth from the airport. Takes my laptop, my daily essentials things. I want it with me all the time back and forth every day to the airport. We've got some of those. So you got your choice of any one of those three things for private pilot. So we're going to play some more videos for you in the R22 and Hunter is a, he's going to be our new superstar. Hunter is a long time Hog super fan. Comments on every single video, every single post. He's trained with us for all of his ratings. He's used togs and then his last rating CFI he did with us and then he did his R22 and R44 instructor sign offs. So we brought Hunter in as our next CFI and again we're helping him move along in his career. So go ahead. We saw the feedback. The students needs to loosen up on the controls. Somebody said already yeah, this, this is a new student that Hunter's out with. The kid's got a few under hours under his belt but he's still brand new. So we're going to share these videos as the teaching moment. Let you see what they're doing this way. I'm kind of watching over 100 and I can help guide him along the way with some of the things that I'd like him to be talking about like making sure he does hover pre takeoff checks every time. Make sure you're doing tell clear left and right. In that first video I want to mention if anybody noticed that was a pretty fast hover taxi. I know Hunter flew with this kid and made that same comment. And so I'm gonna, I'm gonna bring that up because this is a consistent problem. We have people coming here and they'll say oh yeah, we want to hover taxi at the speed of a brisk walk. But what we're seeing, people are hover taxiing at a full on run. Even though they're saying speed of a brisk walk. Well you can look outside the helicopter and you can tell what a speed of a brisk walk is. And in this first video they were a little fast and we'll probably see it again. So that's one thing I'm going to mention to them is it's not just verbiage that you tell someone you got to make them stick to that verbiage. Right. Like if they're going too fast, just gotta slow them down. We want a speed of a brisk walk during that hover taxi. So if anything happens you can just add that pedal, keep the nose straight and slide the thing on the ground. If the engine quits, you don't want to be going too fast. So I have Lindsay queue up the next video and if she doesn't have any questions, we'll go ahead and roll it.
War traffic 346 Victor Hotel is waiting for traffic to clear 18. Then we're going to be on the go. Right traffic, Warsaw war traffic 62745 going to be turning left across then for a left down one departure. WAR departure. Okay, so. So they're going to turn left downwind. Yeah, I'm going to wait for him to be on his downwind so we know there's no reason to rush it. We got plenty of time, plenty of fuel for what we're doing and plenty of hover practice too. I mean you're doing a good job. I mean obviously we got that's showing right now about 12 knots out of the west. I mean we got 12 knots out of the west that's showing. Yeah. You're doing a good job at maintaining this right over the center line. We're not really doing a bunch of moving and aft. Yeah, I mean doing a real good job of staying over your spot. So I'm pleased. Alright, I'll wait for him to turn on his down lane and then all go. Sarah. Just to confirm, no warning lights, all the gauges are in the green. We're good on peel and carpets. Nothing snuck up on us. All right, nice slow takeoff. I'll just let them know. Warsaw Traffic Helicopters 346 Victor Hotel is an Allen. We go for one eight red traffic. Yep. As we get through effective transitional lift, the rotors can become a little bit more efficient. So we just do a little bit more nudge of a the cyclic force to keep from ballooning up. Now we're at 50 start up and then. Yep. If you just want to shoot for about 53 knots while adjusting for that one. There you go. Yep. Good job. But just like I said last time, right now it's showing 12 knots, 9 to 12 knots out of the west on that windsock. So yeah, it's wanting to push us. So maybe a little bit of right cyclic. This will keep us over the dash. Yep, yep. And then you just want to add a little bit of right Pedal to get in trim. So I've got him on the downwind. He's clear of the area. I don't see anybody else. We'll just keep coming up about another 50ft. We'll have our 300ft AGL and we'll make our right crosswind. Clear. Let's do it. Keep climbing up to 500ft. And once we roll out one more power as well. Yep. Once we rot on our downwind, our come up to 500ft. Maintain at least 60 knots. Yeah, you're doing a good job there. Yeah, that guy's moving away, so I'll just call it down when it. Yep. This one's gonna be a steep approach to the numbers. So before we be in our spot, no warning light or we'll do a pre landing check. So no warning lights. All the gauges are in. The green carpet's out of the yellow. We'll go ahead and turn that landing light on. We will be clear below when we make our final approach. Cool. Cool. Make sure we don't slide over there. Yep. So, yeah, so when we're on our downwind, we may have to do a little bit of left cycle because that wind's want to push us. And we can confirm that with the flags down there. The wind's definitely coming out the west. Yeah. So yet we can be start. Lower the collective to start. Warning lights are T's and peas are in the green carpets out of the ollie. Ours are matched up. We're all good. Still coming down. I'll keep above 60. There we go. Yeah, we'll just use this road as our base since we were at 1400. So we're about 50ft high and that's okay. Yeah. So clear. Clear left, clear forward and clear to the right. I think I told you this yesterday too. I've flown with somebody that only clears the way they're turning. I like to clear in the office direction because make sure we're not turning a beam or turning parallel to traffic. Yeah, yeah. Because somebody could be coming in. It's not using a radio. Yeah. I mean, this is an uncontrolled area. You don't have to use a radio here. So we are clear left. Forwarding clear to the right. We're clearly clear. Let's do it. Traffic helicopter 346 Victor Hotel was on right cross or was on right base. Now turning final for one eight war. Yep. So we're coming up on the 300ft AGL. If you want to raise that collective and hold this. We'll hold this to what we believe for our steep. Yep, yep. If you just want to start bringing the airspeed back to at least 60. Around 60. Yep. And then we'll just hold this what we believe to be a steep approach, which is about 15 degrees. So for I know you're a little bit taller than me. For me it's going to be about right here. So we'll hold that. My slight base of the string, like right about here. Yep, there you go. Doing a good job right there. Maintaining 200ft. We'll just see how you feel the shutters. Yep, yep. We'll just ride the shutters in, keep it a little bit forward cyclic just to make sure we're still moving forward. Doing a good job of staying on top of those pedals, keeping a 200 foot descent rate. So there's a 100 foot buffer. So like I said, you're gonna have some people that are going to argue with you like, oh, this is too slow. But look how controlled you're in the aircraft. We got a good aircraft engine's probably not going to fail right now. And we're good. We're not monkeying them with the power settings. So it's all stable. So yep, doing a good job. And even on a steep approach, like a normal approach and a shallow approach. Well, not a shallow approach, but once I'm about 100ft, semi iced in the Runway. Using my peripheral vision to keep my spot in at the same spot. Using my peripheral vision to watch my spot and keep our normal, our steam approach coming in, doing good. Good job at fighting that wind, especially when we got 12 knots, 9 knots right out of the west right now. They're doing a good job of staying on top of those pedals. Yes, There you go. Bring that cycle back just a little bit and we'll stop our forward momentum and we'll come to a nice hover. If you want to set it down clear below. There you go. All the way down. Pedal neutral. So see, yeah, you did a good job right there like that. So, yeah, we could have turned in the wind. But it's also good practice. We're right over the center line. We're not left or right. You maintain it right down the center line, using those pedals to maintain your heading. We came straight down. Nice control on the cyclic. The right cyclic, putting a little bit of pressure in to fight to counter that wind. We sit right down over our spot where. But yeah, feeling good. Yeah, I feel great.
All right, so if you're just coming into this video and you Missed our first little intermission there. What we're doing is we're showing you some content that we've been shooting in the R22. We're shooting a ton of content and we're going to decide what's going to go into the new R22 course. So we might use some of it for the CFI course for new CFIs and and more. We'll just kind of see as things go. Hunter that you're seeing in the videos right now is on his way now to the Hogs Hangar. And today, if everything goes right, we're going to shoot all brand new R22 pre flight videos here in the Hogs hangar. The R22 pre flight videos we have are really good. They were made about eight to nine years ago, maybe even 10 with an old, you know, original GoPro and they're great videos, but we want to update them now with our helicopter and, you know, some fresher footage and showing the highlight in the Hogs wall in the background with all of our members that have made it through their checkrides. And also, I believe if Hunter has his power points ready, we're also going to redo the SFAR SFAR 73 videos that we have inside the R22 course. Again, great videos, but they're just now older. They're like 10 years old. So we wanted to update Fresh look with our aircraft that we're currently using. Some of those videos were made by another company that aren't even, they're not even in existence anymore. So anyway, we want to update as much as we can the R22 course and get, get new content in there. We're trying to rebuild the whole course. I'm going to grab my notes here. So in these videos with Hunter again, he's a brand new cfi. He's out there, he's learning, we're proud of him and he does an excellent job. The content that he's teaching, he has a notebook like this taking notes from the Hogs videos. For the last three, four years he's been working on his ratings. This notebook is phenomenal. And he's, it's. Everything's come from the Hogs course. So we know he teaches with the methods and the things that we want to be taught. And I'm going to, you know, we can use these videos to kind of help evaluate a little bit. So I already mentioned that they were hovering a little fast in that first video, but again, very common. People, you got to slow that hover taxi down to the speed of a nice brisk walk. They do pretty good on the hover pre takeoff checks. Not every single takeoff it's been super clear. But you got to make sure you're doing those type of pre takeoff checks. They're doing a good job at clearing left and right. A little more talking on the setup I think would be good in some of these videos. But all in all, really, really good. So we are super proud of Hunter and just know there's going to be a whole bunch more content. We have a brand new pre flight video that or not pre flight. We have a brand new startup video that I did a couple weeks ago that's inside the R22 section right now. And we took our time, used multiple cameras to give you really good bird's eye view of the whole entire startup. And we go through it really nice, really slow and talk about all the things like how to use your hands and guard the collective. And we just took our time to make a really, really good startup video that is inside hogs now. So I'm gonna real quick mention the cell. We'll start with propilot. Lindsey can bring it up. Propilot is normally 2,800. You get the pro pilot for 50% off. So it's savings of 1400 bucks. For 1400 you get professional pilot. That includes private pilot, commercial pilot, instrument pilot, certified flight instructor, no expiration. The training will be there as you're going through it. One time payment and you're done. And I'll have Lindsey come back with propilot until midnight tonight. You can get the hogs ball cap that I'm not a big hat guy but everybody that's had these really, really like them. Heather wears hers all the time. Lindsey wears hers occasionally. Hunter wears his most all the time.
They're super comfortable.
They are super comfortable. What everybody says. And then you go or with propilot we will send you a badass knee board made by moagear.net Again I don't sell these. These are giveaways. I buy them from the young kid that sent me one as an example and I've been using it ever since. So with propilot you can get the ball cap or you can pick the kneeboard or we got these backpacks with the hogs logo on it. I've been carrying one of these for the last year and a half. I use it every day going back and forth between home and the airport for my laptop and necessary items. I've used it when I travel. Really, really nice backpack. So we'll Go in reverse from before. There's a lifetime on the private pilot. That's normally 997. So at 50% off, you save $498.50. So you can purchase it by midnight tonight for 498.50. And then we have monthly or a 12 month option, I believe on most all the memberships that is normally 697. So that's 348.50 savings. It costs you $348.50. You know, a full bag of groceries. If you go to the grocery store right now with a cart and you fill that card up, you're going to spend that so you can get a full year of training. Watch as many times as you need it, as you need to get through your ratings for basically the cost of a full basket of groceries at the supermarket. And then monthlies. They've been at $97 for a long time, for years. Right now, S4850 with 50% off. So you can get the monthly membership at $48.50. I know now when I run to the grocery store and go, hey, I'm going to run in and just get a few things, it's 100 bucks or it's 110, 120 to go in and get two or three little bags of stuff. So you can get this monthly membership for $48.50 with the money you're spending on your lessons and what this could benefit can do for you for 48, 50. Private Pilot, you remember now how many hours and number of videos in there? It's unreal. All right, well, we'll go back to the next video with Hunter out working as the brand new CFI with a young pilot working on his private pilot. So if you've got that queued up, Lindsey, go ahead and we'll roll the next video.
Taxi with a tailwind. Taxi with a tailwind over to the practice. Hovering. We'll just pick up sidestep, side step, side step. We'll just start our traffic pattern. I don't want to go too far with the tailwind. Like I said, five, ten knots. That's okay. But when you start getting gusts from 9 to 15. Yeah, we just want to put our stuff in there if we don't have to, so. Got it. I'll turn the landing light off. Yep, landing light is off. We are clear left forward and above and clear to the right. Aircraft is yours side stepping to the left? Yep. Or you can go to the right wherever you want. I Guess. Yeah, whatever you want to do. Let's go to the right. I haven't gone there yet. So. Yeah, you turn in the wind till is clear. Left clear. I got those Runway lights. We'll go out here and just hover for a minute because I've not been on this side of the airfield. So we'll just make sure. Make sure it's stable. Yep. We'll just come in a nice stable hover. And whenever you're ready, set it down. Yep. And then since we're not familiar with this, we lower the collective about an inch, do a stability check. Yep. We're committed. We're not committed, but yeah, we like what we're doing. We can lower it all the way down. Cycle considered. Sweet. Picking it back up. Yep. Just so we'll do it super slow, this is a two step pickup because let's say we weren't unfamiliar with it. We thought we were comfortable. Skids are state one. Skid's stuck under mud or whatever and we go to pick up. That's where we get into dynamic Rover, do you know what we need to get into dynamic rollover? Yeah. We need an obstruction in a pivot point, like a rock or something. And we need a greater than 5 to 7 degree tilt in order to get past our. What is that? Point of no return. So our point. I forget what they call that. What is that? A point of pivot point. Pivot, yeah. Critical angle so far. You need power applied, a rolling motion and a pivot point. Yeah. So the vent that you do accidentally get into, you know what the corrective action is? Collect and pull down. Yeah. Don't try to stop it. Yeah, we'll keep going forward. Yeah, there's a hole there. So we'll keep going forward. Penny says three step process. Collective down. Collective down and collective down. Yes. So yeah, because if you try to save it and counter it, there's not enough time. It's gonna happen quick. Not that I've ever been in it. Tell spirit. Right. Just dump that collective. Yep. So this one you're just going to just be mindful of. That winds off to your right, so you might have to apply a little bit of right cyclic. Doing a good job. We are clear below. But yeah. Would you say that's the only thing we do fast in helicopters if we're dynamic rolling? Yeah, you just dump it. So if it was me, I mean, if I start feel like, oh, crap. And obviously you try to avoid putting yourself into that, but if you get into it and you start feeling the Helicopter, go. I am slamming that collective. I'm trying to slam it through the floor because I'd rather have a jammed up collective than no rudder system. Yeah. God forbid. If we're at like. Obviously right now we're at flight rpm so if this were to come over. This thing's gonna smack. Yeah. And there's a possibility it could come through the windshield too. Yeah. It's not gonna feel too good. Nope. So this one will pick up, go up about 20 yards, turn in. Just be mindful of saying that. Tailwind. Yep. We'll keep an eye on this rain. There's a plane way up there. No factor. Nice slow pickup. Make sure that our skids are not stuck. He said there was traffic somewhere. Yeah, he's way up there. So we're just hovering over here. So. Okay. Yeah. If he makes a call, just say we're doing hover work. Parallel 1 8. Nice and slow. Just be mindful to stay on top of those pedals because we're gonna have a tailwind which looks like it's slowed down. Tub about six knots. And we'll stop here. Doing a good job. Doing a good job staying on top of those pedals. Set it down with the tailwind. A little rough, but we got it down. Yep. Right angle. Okay, we're good. Warning lights are out. Ts and Ps are in the green. And your rotor RPM are good. Carpets out of the yellow. We'll do another check once we pick up. Pick it nice and slow. Just make sure none of our skids got caught. Or do our two step pickup. Get light on the skids. Cancel out any movement. If you want, we'll just turn around. We're not going to face to the left because I really don't want that wind just blowing right. Yeah. Tail river seats back into our thing because I think if you face to the north, it's going to get a little difficult. Just keep that turn coming around. We'll face back to the west. Yep. There you go. Just keep fighting through it. Come up a little bit. You. You're good. Yep. Good job. Go ahead and set it down. Yeah, I just didn't want to be trying to land with that wind. With that much wind blowing that. That's. There's no reason to put ourselves back. Yeah. We don't want to put ourselves into an actual situation that over nine knots. I don't think I'd ever put it down in that aspect. So. No. But like, this is good practice. So this one will pick up if you just want to bolt. Just go up, make a of lot left traffic. And we'll just practice off the right side because that. That I think is more feasible. Like. Yeah. You may come in land to the west. The wind's out there, so it's blowing the dirty portices. So it's practice. It's getting you to practice. Maybe just like countering that wind. But with that wind, I don't really want to do any more tail stuff because there's no reason to put ourselves in a real situation. So we're out here just training. Yeah. Don't want to get into lt. Okay. One events are out. T's and peas are in the green carpets out of the yellow introvert. RPM are matched up. Yep. And we'll do another check once we're up. Two stage pickup. Nice and slow. We'll count down the movement. We'll pause. There you go. Yeah, that. I felt that actually that rear right skid was a little stuck in the dirt there, but. Or maybe a little bit. Not too bad. But get the feel with the two stage. Yeah. So as soon as you start seeing any movement, you just pause it. Try to hold it right where you're at. And then the key is that once you think you've got all the movements cancelized or neutralized, I mean, then it's just slightly raise that clutch up. And if you got it all cancelized and you're super light on the skids, the helicopter should just come straight up. Yeah. Clear right? That's clear right. Pushing through. Yep. Always be mindful of that.
Yep.
Good job at staying on top of those pedals. Come up here about another 5, 10ft, come into hover and set it down. Nice and slow. Do our stability check. Yep. We're good like that. I kind of. As you load that clicked up. I kind of felt the helicopter. Not that we're those low attitude, but or tell low attitude. So we'll be super slow on this one. Yeah. And if anything, put the cycling forward. Yep.
Just one second.
Get more clear on this side. So nothing's not stuck nor is secure. Sweet. It's a nice. Oh yeah. I'll check this. That's a good habit. You want to go collective real quick. Good habit. I guess. Now we're good on this side. All right. Of course, I'm used to the doors off, so it would just be easier to check if they were. But. Yep. So we'll do super slow. Nice and slow.
Slow.
If anything cyclic forward. Saw one if eyes outside. About 75ft. Super slow. Once it starts to get light, just pause. So right there. Pause. There you go. Now it comes straight up. Yep. If you want, we can do another normal approach. Okay. If you just want to. Actually, if you want to sidestep to the right.
All right. If you just came into the video, we're just showing you some content that may or may not go inside of hogs. We're shooting a lot of new R22 content with our new instructor, Hunter Gamble. And we're kind of going through and debrief a little bit what they're doing out there. And I want to mention what they're doing in this video that we just watched. They're doing a hovering square pattern. And many of you may have know this or have used this, but we introduce it to a lot of people, have never seen it. When you're going through the training. And one of the best ways to gauge your progress over time and build your skills is what we call just the hovering square pattern, which is just picking out a small square of an area and flying one side of it. Set it down, pick it up, do a clearing, turn and turn, Go over here, stop, set it down, pick it back up, turn again, go all the way around the square. And when you get to your. And set it down. When you get to your starting point, you turn and then go back around that square, all four sides of that square, back to the beginning. And of course, you don't want to do this on a high wind day, but when you're doing this, you're picking up and setting down with the wind on those different angles. Yes. We normally want to try to pick up and set down into the wind if possible. But there are certain times where you choose may choose to not park into the wind because you're worried about bystanders or somebody approaching the aircraft. You might have a valid reason that you're not going to set down pointing into the wind. You're going to point another direction. So this really gives a person an idea of where they're at. If you introduce it when they're new, they might not do very well, but then show them a week or two or a month later, go out and do it again, and they'll see their progress. And I've used it just like when, let's say I hadn't flown for a little bit, like when the R44 was gone for last winter for three months. When it came back, I went out and did some hovering square patterns just to go out and freshen up my own skills. So it's good for anybody, really, anytime. But particularly good for students. So what I like in the last three videos, or in this video specifically, he did mention the three things that combined together for dynamic rollover. They did good clearing turns. They talked about getting that collective down with no delay. If in the event you got hooked on a pivot point.
The pickups were.
A little bit rushed, you want to take your time, especially when you're new. Like this young kid is working towards solo. There shouldn't be any rush. And I saw a couple of those kind of yanked it up and kind of plopped it down. So in the beginning or anytime you should be going super duper slow, lifting that thing up and setting it back down to avoid that dynamic rollover. So we got one more video we'll show you here in a minute and I'm gonna run through our sale real quick. Ending tonight. We've been online for 13 years and until midnight tonight we'll do monthly first Lindsay. 97amonth is our normal price has been set at 97 for more than four years. Probably six, seven, eight years. We've been at 97amonth right now for 48.50 you can get the monthly membership and that lasts as long as you keep the course. If you're running to the grocery store and buy three or four bags of stuff real quick, you spend a hundred bucks. This is 48.50 for the amount of training you get. It's a steal. Next, we have some 12 month options on private commercial instrument CFI. That's normally 697. At 50% off, you're saving $348.50. So by midnight tonight you can sign up and get 12 months of any of those choices on the courses for 30.48.50. Then there's a lifetime on private pilot. This normally 997. You can save $498.50. You pay 498.50@helopterground.com we'll make sure the links down below the video. But you can go to helicopterground.com and type in the code Lucky13 and then it will show you the discounted price. Right now you don't see it when you go to the website. You need the code and you got to enter the code to see the discount. And then lastly ProPilot $2800. It's been there for five, six years at least. That's 50% off. So you can get pro pilot. That's private commercial instrument cfi. It does not expire you'll have it as long as it takes you to get through your training, whether it takes you a year or takes you four years like it took me 1400 bucks. And with Propilot right now, you can get the Hogs ball cap or we can send you the badass knee board made by moa. I keep forgetting. Just search badass kneeboards on the Internet. You'll go right to his page. A really, really nice knee board. I buy them from him. I buy like five at a time and use them for giveaways for special events like this. We'll send you the badass knee board or you can get the Hogs backpack. I've been carrying this for a year and a half every day to and fro. I use it when I travel, use it to carry my laptop and things I want to keep with me on a daily basis. You can get those with Propilot right now until midnight tonight@helopterground.com link down below the video. So we're going to show you one more video from these guys out training. And again, if you're just rolled into the video, we've uploaded a brand new startup video inside the Robinson R22 section inside Hogs. We've got maybe 10 or 12 videos from Hunter out practicing as a new CFI. I believe we're going to put those also in the CFI section because that one's geared for anybody just wanting to learn, but especially for someone who's trying to figure out the terminology like it's you practice as you're getting the cfi. Getting the cfi. The trick is to go out and fly to a good commercial standard, but also talk and teach while you're flying. And that's the hard part for a lot of people. So we sent Hunter out first thing and let him just go around the pattern and just do nothing but practice talking. We put all those videos inside the R22 section and Hunter is on his way right now. Today we're shooting brand new pre flight videos. We're going to reshoot the whole thing. Not because we don't love the ones that are in there, they're just pretty old at this point. And we are also going to shoot today, I believe, all new SFAR videos to help you decipher the SBAR 73. And I'll give you a tip. I have to look it up, right? Like when you're having conversations, it's hard to remember every single thing in that SFAR. When you're trying to figure something out, you just go to it open it up. But we have the basic videos on breakdowns on the Sfar. They've been in there as well like 8 or 10 years. Good videos. My friend Sarah Green did those and they're. And she did a great job with them. But they're now like I said, 8 to 10 years old. So we're currently working as of today we're going to be shooting all new pre flight videos and getting a start on some fresh SFAR 73 videos. So let's go ahead and roll that last video and then we'll be back to wrap up.
Pretty good. Yeah. That was sweet. What are we thinking? If you want to. You want to try a shallow approach with run on landing? Yeah, let's do it. So no one lets. All the gauges are green. We're good on fuel carpet. Alleho we're bus and nice and slow. So I'll let you go on the go and then when we're on our downwind I'll explain the shallow approach with the run on landing why we might use it. Common errors and stuff like that. So still clear left. I don't see anybody. There's a helicopter over there. There's our guy. Yep. What is that? A 407 Traffic Medevac Express south of the field delaying the hospital just south of the field. We got you inside. No factor. We're clear. Clear. Clear. Turning. I don't know where the hospital is at over there, but yeah. Warsaw traffic helicopter 346 Victor Hotel is now moving away from traffic on a ray cross one for one eight. Good. Lucky. Yep. We'll just keep that climb coming in. Once we get past this we can turn here. Use this. Follow the road.
Clear.
Clear. Clear. Let's go. We do our normal our shallow approach with the run on landing. Once we beam our spa we'll do our pre landing checks. No warning lights. All the gauges in the green. Five degree approach, right? Yep. So shallow approach is about a five degree approach which a normal approach for an airpoint is three degrees. So a shallow approach for us is about five degrees. Okay. A time that we might use it. Let's say it's hotter. High density altitude. Yeah. So let's say we were at a lower elevation and we end up climbing up to higher elevation. So let's say we took off here at 850. We went to an airport that's 2,000ft. We don't have the performance in there. Which we should have done a pretty good pre planning. But let's say we Lost a magnet and it's not pulling as much power. Yeah. And we can't come into a hover, so there's birds below us. You're good. Yep. So if you want to lower that collective, starter descend. We have beamed our spot. Landing light is on little left pedal to stay in trim. Yeah. As we roll out on final, once we make sure we're clear of our obstacle. If you're clear left forward and clear right, you want to start that turn to the right, south, southwest. Enter left on. Good job at maintaining the air speed. And then as we go out on final, Warsaw area traffic. America coming around again for the hospital. Warsaw. There no factor. So we're going to shoot for not the numbers, but probably like the. Between those two. You see the two white lights right past it. Those next two intersections, we're going to shoot for that. We're just going to keep riding this down, all the way down to a shallow approach right before touchdown. We're going to ride the shutters in. Let's just keep working that back. Yep. So we'll keep working that back. Right before touchdown, we want to be above etl. No slower than etl. Use your pedals to maintain your heading. Use your cyclic to control your lateral movement. So basically come down over the center of the Runway using your pedals to maintain your heading. And then once we skid down level, we're going to slide lower, gently lower the collective. We're going to use that as a brake. No slamming the collective and no abrupt aft. We do not want no aft. So this is the time where I'm going to sit here and guard it. So I don't want you going aft. Yep. So we'll just keep riding this in. Nice and slow. Warsaw. Charlie Comforter 346 Victor Hotel is short mile for one eight. Warsaw. We'll just keep riding this in. If you want to, just do a little forward cyclic. There you go. Just like that. Aiming for the lights. Yeah, just roughly in this area. So we'll just keep moving forward. Maybe a little bit more forward cyclic. As you get closer to the ground, you're going to raise that collective a little bit to slow their sink rate. And again, once. Once we make contact with the ground, just use those pedals to maintain your heading. I'm following a long light with you. Still your. Nice and slow. Nice and slow. Just keep going. You're almost there. There you go. Use your pedals to maintain your heading. Down collective. No AB cycling. Just like that. Sweet. Alrighty. So we're giving Fuel. I guess if you want to do one more approach, we'll do a steep approach just for fun. Yeah. And then we can do a little bit more hover work if you want to. We'll come in at like 50, 52 minutes, if that's okay with you. Yeah. So we're clear left, forward, and then to the right. Your aircraft, my aircraft. I doing all right job explaining it. Yeah. You're comprehending it. Yeah. Yep. Nice and slow. We'll cancel out any movement. There you go. Just like that. We'll come back over the center line. Easy visual reference. I'm still a new instructor, so I'm trying to work on my instructing style. So if you're thinking like, hey, oh, this is good. Yeah. So. Yep. So no warning lights. All the gauges are in the green. We're good on fuel. Carpets out of the yellow. We're clear four and above. It's cool to see. I don't see any goose at 109 every day. Yeah, those things are slick. I could be wrong. I don't know if those are two pilots or there's just one flying them.
Yep.
Nice normal takeoff. I think he's got a medical crew in the left seat. I watch a bunch of guys doing Augusta work and 145 work, and usually they're just solo, but I may be wrong. If you just want to add a little bit of right pedal, we'll be in trim. We're still clear left forward into the right. You want to give them a traffic that we're on the go. Right traffic, Warsaw traffic 346. Victor Hotel is on the go, about to turn Crosswind right traffic 1 8, Warsaw. So we'll keep this climb in, but wait about another 50ft. But in the meantime, we are clear left forward and clear to the right. There's our 300ft AGL. We can make our right crosswind turn. Doing a good job at maintaining 60 air Soviet trim. And then you want to bring the airspeed back just a little bit to, like, around 50, 53, 55 knots. We'll keep our climb in, climb up to 500ft AGL. There you go. If you want to start your turn and then just forward cycle, keep the aerospeed up and then lower that collective where right. There's our 500ft AGL. We'll just set up another steep approach. You're doing a good job at not letting that wind push you around. I think the one traffic pattern, we started out here over the roads and then we scooted over I think that may be in our first traffic pattern. But you're doing a good job at keeping the winds. Maintain compensating for the winds. Yeah. With the cyclic. So obviously beam our spot. No warning lights. All the gauges in the green carpet tell the yellow as soon as we beam our spot, slowly lower that collective. As we lower the collective, small right pedal aft cyclic will start that descent. Little updraft there. So you got a bird behind us and above us. So he's no factor. Okay. And if you want to start your turn, we do have a tower out here. So if you want to come ride, make a. Just to come right and then like me a little further out. So that's fine. Yeah, give yourself plenty of time. And especially on a check ride, obviously the DP is not wanting you to go out two miles because obviously we need to stay within traffic pattern. But especially on like your autos, give yourself plenty of time because a good, like the key to a good auto is a good setup. Same thing with a normal approach, a steep approach, a good setup to ski. If it's crappy at the end of it, you're going to be fighting it. So clear left forward and clear to the right. Earlier when I was looking at foreflight, I think I was probably seeing. My radar is probably showing these rain clouds. It's not raining down here, but yeah, they're just kind of overcasting. Ride this in. Once we 300 race collective, we're probably. I'll wait a little. Maybe you're gonna hold this just for another second. Like I said, for me it's about right here. But obviously you're a little bit taller on me. So in the middle of the street. So you're gonna have that wind pushing a little bit. So you may have to keep a little bit of forward pressure in just to keep us moving forward. Because there's been times where I'm up at. I think when I did one of my 00 air speed autos, I think we were ground speed was showing zero. But like indicator, see was showing like 25 knots because it's just the air moving up there. So we'll just keep riding this in. Yeah, we're showing, I mean pretty much 16 right now. Yep. You're see. Yeah, I had that little light. Yeah, We're at 150 VSI right now. Minus 150. So nice and slow. Feeling good. Feeling those rumbles. Kind of feels like we're shaking apart, but that's a good thing. All right, that's. I I like and now we got told you yesterday I've got a couple patches in my stickers. Binders say ride the shutters. I like riding them in. Yeah. I mean yes, I'm right at etl. Cuz theoretically if you like, I mean if you wanted to which we'll do it here in a minute show you something. But yeah. Why don't you have a timer? I gotta rest my fingers. So have you want. It's whatever you want to do. Yeah, let's do is door receive. So let me receive some information. Right. All right. I'll come and do a nice hover and I'll just do another set down and then if you want to do a set down then I'll pick it up if you want. I mean it's up to you. It's your time. Set it down for you. So come in a nice stable hover. There you go. You're good. Yep. Adjust it with the pedals coming down.
All right. So that was the last of four videos we just want to share. You share, you share you show you a little bit of the new content. Hover or hunter's on his way. We're going to start shooting after some food we're going to start shooting the new pre flight videos. I did notice that he, he finally got around to mentioning the key to a good approach is a good setup near the end of the end of their flight. And that's one thing that I really, really push. Right. Like whatever. No matter what maneuver you're doing, a good setup makes for a good maneuver. If you enter it sloppy, it's going to be sloppy. If you enter it nice, it's going to be nice. People say well that's not real world. Well it is when you're training to a standard and you want to go out and make a maneuver look good each time as many times as possible to get ready for a test training to a standard. So one of your keys is a good setup. If you take the time to set it up really nice, it's going to be a nice approach. So don't forget midnight tonight. We've been running this cell for over a month just because we were proud of making it 13 years online. You know most businesses make it I think three to five years and like 80% or 85% or something of new businesses fail. So we're happy to be here with your support for the last 13 years. We couldn't have done it without all of you that come by and watch our videos and, and make a comment and Give us a like we really, really appreciate it because we couldn't do it without you. So we'll mention the monthly is only $48.50 a month for as long as you keep it. 12 month memberships. Normally 697 you can get for 348.50 lifetime private. Normally 997, that's a ton of value. You can get it until midnight. 498.50 lifetime on the private pilot. That's going to do a lot for you over your training to help you get past the overwhelm of all the stuff that you got to learn to get through the test and mastering the maneuvers and the practical side of everything. And then lastly, ProPilot, it's 1400 dollars off at 1400 private instrument, commercial CFI. It never expires. One time payment and you're done. So you can do that with the Hogs ball kit and you get the Hogs ball cap, your choice. Or you can get a badass kneeboard or you can get a Hogs backpack. So those are available with propilot intel. Midnight helicopterground.com is the place to go if you're interested in one of our flying courses. You can reach out to Hogs member support 574-767-1797 and we'll get you on the schedule and that the customer went home with a thumb drive with two flights. So if you want to come and fly with us, we will build you a custom video that you can take home with you and that we could maybe possibly share it on YouTube or at minimum have to take home for yourself. And after all these years of doing this, we're realizing works pretty nice for evaluating a flight after the fact. Whether you got the skid view or you're looking at the panel view, it's really nice to go back and watch something and go, that was good. This was good. Need a little improvement there. So we thought, you know what, why don't we just start offering up. If you come here to fly with us, we'll make you a custom video that you can take home with you. All right, Midnight tonight we're going to wrap it up. Going to start shooting pre flight videos here shortly as soon as we get some food and we'll see you in the next video. Peace out. You feel the pressure to fly, but know the right decision is to stay.
On the ground, hit the Hogs no.
Go and live to fly another day.
