We did something cool the last day and a half. Never thought of before. One of my friends, Todd Ketterman, one of our final approach members.
I'm tired.
It's been a long day and a half. Did his commercial and CFI up here came up with this idea about a executive team building event. So if you guys wouldn't mind just filling us in on what did we do here and what was. What did you think of this executive team building event?
Sure. So I've been working on the channel for about 15 years now. This is the most unique experience that I've ever had. Last night we came in, we did a sunset ride around here. So you see multiple different views of coming in different parks. And today we did an executive briefing with our partner that we work with and to understand their business, how to get more about them in really an intimate setting. And then we got training to actually go and help operate a helicopter, which is a bucket list item for me.
Definitely an experience learning how to fly a helicopter. It's a humbling experience. A lot of fun, a lot of great information, Very informative. Definitely recommend it.
What was the best part? Karaoke. Last night.
Karaoke was. And that's another experience going in there. We were kind of all pushed the steps out of our comfort zone. I haven't karaoke in about 15 years as well. And went in there and we did a duo Oasis Wonderwall. And I don't think it went that.
Well, but hopefully that wasn't recorded as well.
And coming in today and really seeing everything, it was an unbelievable day and a half.
Todd, come over here.
Oh, my goodness.
Put your sunglasses on. So you're so cool. So tell them about the SBAR training.
You gave these guys this morning. Oh, my goodness. That was. Well, first of all, just from a team building perspective, it was really awesome just to bring everybody together. And when you think about team building, you know, there's a lot of sports analogies and things like that that people use to wrap aviation around it, to do team building, to kind of stretch and do something that you', not, you know, used to. Pretty incredible, right?
Amazing.
Yeah. So it was really cool. So part of that, we had to do some training to manipulate the controls of a Robinson R22 and R44.
You covered all the SFAR awareness training, right?
Covered all the awareness training on the helicopter so that these guys could be official and we could do it safely and make sure that. One question I have for you guys. So we talked a lot about before you flew. Obviously you went on the Sunset flight.
Right.
Which was fun. So you got to kind of get that perspective that we talked a lot about what it would feel like flying a helicopter. What was that experience like? I mean, for someone that you didn't sign up to go become a pilot, but all of a sudden you're in this situation where you get to learn and manipulate the controls. What was it like?
It was a great experience. It was definitely humbling. Something that most people never get to do, and we're fortunate enough to do it. It was the best feeling was getting down on the ground safe and, you know, actually getting up there and manipulating the controls and just having a good time with a great instructor.
I think it was one of those things that you try to prepare. We had all the training this morning, but actually getting in the helicopter itself was completely different. And understanding and truly saying it's very light to the touch, where some of us, myself included, went a little too far overboard. Luckily, we had instructors to make sure that we didn't go too far. But I think that was the biggest realization of getting in there and having hands on experience was incredible.
It's awesome.
Nobody mentioned the Hog's famous cheeseburger.
Well, like Kenny said, I mean, you. He always says, come on out. We're gonna feed you, we're gonna give you concierge service. He never fails. The burgers were absolutely amazing.
Right?
The.
The thickness of it cooked to perfection is some of the best we've had.
I think we were all Clean Plate members last night. You know, prior to the Clean Plate.
Club, all of our mothers would be very happy.
That's it.
Well, I appreciate you guys coming up.
It was fun.
I'm glad we got to do it. I didn't want to give Todd credit for coming up with a good idea, but. Okay, I gotta give Todd a credit for a good idea. If you're interested in a typical or this type of event for your organization, reach out to Hogsmember Support at 574-767-1797.
