A short conversational tutorial by Kenny Keller (with a second speaker) demonstrating and explaining running landings for helicopters (skid-equipped). The speakers contrast exaggerated long sliding demonstrations with a practical short ‘little slide’ technique, emphasize pedal and skid control, and show a real landing example.
So many people teach these running landings where they slide a quarter of a mile down the Runway or taxiway. And in real world, you might have to do that, or maybe all you gotta do is what we're gonna do right now. Little short, little slide. Portland county traffic, Skyhawk 422, limitiera 10 southwest. Make straight and Runway 1 1. Fulton County. Moving forward. Moving forward. Easing it down real nice and slow. Keep the skid straight. And voila. That's a runny landing as well.
Very nice saves.
On skid shoes.
Does. And I was watching, did a very good job of using your pedals to maintain your heading. No ab cycling. They come down. You were coming down at.
Like, Mach.
1 and sliding on forever.
Sure.
It was very short distance. So very impressed.
