Kenny Keller explains that many pilots describe hover taxi speed as a "brisk walk" but in practice fly faster, and examiners will notice and call them out. He shares an anecdote about examiner feedback, emphasizes self-enforcement of correct technique, and briefly promotes askhogs.com as an archive/resource of his aviation content.

So for anybody listening, when people come here for check rides consistently, they tell me they'll be doing a hover taxi and they'll go, okay, speed of a brisk walk as they're going like 10 or 15 knots across the ground. I just mentioned that to Gabriel the other day, and yesterday on the cfi, the examiner did it on my checkout. And the critique, he goes, well, you said the speed of a brisk walk, but so just we're a little bit higher and a little bit faster. Right? So just, just a note that that's a common thing that people, they have the right terminology, but they're not actually doing it. And the examiner is going to call you out on that. I think it's a matter of enforceability. At the end of the day, we're not enforcing ourselves to do it. Right. Exactly.
