A short instructor-led YouTube video by Kenny Keller highlighting a common training mistake: pilots say a hover taxi should be at the "speed of a brisk walk" but actually move faster (10–15 knots) during check rides, risking examiner critique. The clip emphasizes lack of self-enforcement among pilots and directs viewers to resources (AskHogs.com and HelicopterGround.com).

So for anybody listening, when people come here for check rides consistently, they tell me they'll be doing a hover taxi and they'll go, okay, speed of a brisk walk as they're going like 10 or 15 knots across the ground. I just mentioned that to Gabriel the other day. And yesterday on the cfi, the examiner did it on my checkout. And the critique, he goes, well, you said the speed of a brisk walk, but so just we're a little bit higher and a little bit faster. Right? So just, just a note that that's a common thing that people, they have the right terminology, but they're not actually doing it. And the examiner is going to call you out on that. I think it's a matter of enforceability. At the end of the day, we're not enforcing ourselves to do it. Right. Exactly. And hey, go to Ask Hogs Calm. Did you know we have a clone? Six years or no, 14 years of my content, blogs, videos, podcasts, everything has been loaded in that ask hogs.com and in 24 hours a day, seven days a week, you can go to it, get your questions asked, answered.
