To attract customers, businesses need to be new and different. The hosts use a conference scene where a novel sound draws everyone's attention to show how our brains are wired to notice novelty for survival. Companies can create this through packaging, naming, or presentation.
Welcome to Honor Roll. And now here's.
Welcome back to yet another incredible episode of Honor Roll. I'd like to stage you for something incredible by saying the word incredible. Now you got that going on your mind. And I deliver incredible. First, we thank our sponsors. As always, thank you to Skype, thank you to American Express, thanks to Dex Digital. Thanks to Preventance Group for supporting what we're doing here. Supporting entrepreneurs.
Now here's what you got to do in your business.
New and different. Attracts customers. Same and stale. Does nothing. Nothing, I tell you. Have you ever been in a conference or a meeting where everyone's taking notes and someone's wiping their nose and talking and all this stuff's going on? Did you still know the sound effect? Did you hear me? Yeah, I just blew my nose. All right, I digress. And people are taking all these notes and doing things. No one notices until one person slowly opens the door. And then everyone looks over what's going on. It's something that's new and different and it catches people's attention. You know why this is true? Because it's in our brain here. In the old hunting and predatorial days, we had to pay attention for new sounds. If a hunter's walking through the woods and you hear some crunching leaves, it could be a saber toothed tiger that's going to.
Eat.
You or it could be a saber toothed tooth rabbit. So our brains are hardwired to identify something that's new and unexpected. And you as a marketer, as an entrepreneur can leverage that. Change up what you're doing, give it a new name, change the packaging, but make something new, different and improved and people will notice.
