Kevin Grimes Joins Thompson Burton

Hi, everyone out there, Kevin Thompson here, mlm, attorney and managing partner at Thompson Burton. And I'm very excited to make this announcement. It is the biggest announcement I've ever made in my career. Thompson Burton is pleased to announce the addition of a new partner and his name. Any guesses? Kevin Grimes. So I'm beyond excited. I'm not easily excited, actually. This face right here, this is me excited. He's a phenomenal lawyer. He's been practicing for 19 years in the space. He's worked with a few billion dollar companies. He's seen the good, the bad, and the ugly. He's got some fantastic experiences, and just like with me, he's got some not so great experiences. And through it all, he's got some valuable skills. So when I learned that he was on the market three months ago, the day I found out, I reached out to Kevin and we engaged in a discussion. And I made it very clear, look, that we can have this discussion. And if you decide to do your own thing, we part ways as friends and there'd be no hard feelings. So we flew him down to Nashville and he came to our office in Franklin, met the team. We entertained him at our home where he met my wife and my four kids. And we whipped out the special Signiago pasta sauce. It's a family recipe that we only bust out on serious occasions. And we had a great time together. And two reasons that led me to contact Kevin and why I'm so grateful for this relationship that we now have. First, he's a good person. So every time I've talked to him and I've known Kevin for close to seven years, and every engagement I've had with him, I walk away better. He's very open about his faith. He is very passionate about serving people. He has fostered over 24 kids, and the stories that he has are remarkable. And he cares. And that's one thing that we actually have in common. I was raised by a single mother, and I do what I can to help neglected teens, but not to the extent that Kevin does. I mean, he puts me to shame. So I'm part of a few mentorship programs, but to foster kids, it's a serious commitment. So he's a good person. And my wife really, really came to appreciate Kevin, and she said, you know what? That's the kind of guy you need to hang out with. So I don't care what it takes. You figure out a way to work with him, because that's who I want you hanging out with. And you know what? That means something to me. So that was the main reason. He's a good person. And Jim Collins says you get the right people on the bus and then you figure out the business details, then you figure out where you want to go. He's the right person. Number two, he's got a lot of experience, like I said earlier, 19 years of experience with network marketing companies. And I've been doing this for what I feel like a long time, but not nearly as long as Kevin. So he brings just a whole breadth. He brings a lot more depth to what we're doing over here. And there's room for both of us to service companies. So good person, good lawyer. He's now with us, and I'm excited for what this means. So I think in the industry, iron sharpens iron. He can make me better. I can make him better. There are some things that he's not doing very well, such as communicating. He hasn't communicated at all. Most of you don't even know who he is. We've got to fix that. So you're going to get to know him better. He's going through some issues right now, and he's dealing with them. And there's going to be a day when he. He's not dealing with them and he can focus on doing what he does best. He's been practicing for close to 25 years without any single bar complaints. So he knows what he's doing.
