55 days in San Francisco (DAY 8+9)

After accidentally washing his phone, the creator attends a Mozilla meetup on VR for creators and tries an Oculus Rift. He's convinced VR headsets will become household staples, citing Mark Zuckerberg's push into the space. Day 9 focuses on UI/UX work for a project called Jellybean.

Hi guys, so today's video is a compilation of day 8 and day 9. Yeah, I'm actually vlogging. It's a compilation of day 8 and day 9, and yeah, so the highlight of day 8 was like It was Mozilla, and the reason why I didn't do day 8 because my phone— I washed my phone in the washing machine, which is fucked up.
So how bad is it?
Huh?
Is it salvageable?
I have no idea. Like, I'm just leaving it for 1 week and hopefully it turns on and it works. If it doesn't, I'm screwed.
Like, throw it in a bag of rice.
Like, yeah, that's what I did though.
Oh, you did already?
Yeah, that's what I did. But if it doesn't work, I'm screwed because I do not have the money to get a new iPhone or any other phone, any smartphone.
Oh no, you can buy phone. Yeah, but— Just look on Craigslist. No one will scam you.
Yeah, like, so Mozilla, and I tried— so the meetup at Mozilla was virtual reality for YouTubers and filmmakers. So a lot of people who were interested in filmmaking in virtual reality stuff actually went to the meetup, and I met like tons and tons of interesting people, which was really awesome. And I actually tried Oculus Rift, which I would say that graphics on Oculus Rift can be improved, can be improved, but in terms of the technology, technology behind Oculus Rift is really, really cool. I can see it as a consumer electronic product, which I'm pretty sure that's the strategy Mark Zuckerberg is going for, because I am absolutely sure that virtual reality, the headset, would be something that everyone will use in their household. You think so? Yeah, I'm pretty sure it will. It's a technology that is very accessible, and that's what— if they can actually get the technology and the whole thing into a consumer price, that would be absolutely crazy. But yeah, it's not impossible. So yeah, that's on Day 8, which is the highlight on the whole day. And for today, Day 9, it's— I'm just working. I've been working my ass on the UI and UX of Jellybean. So I will actually send you guys the finished mockup on Jellybean, and once it's out, I will just shoot it out on Mailchimp email to you guys. Hopefully you guys can give me some feedback. But yeah, that's pretty much about it. Didn't do much today, just work all day. Yeah, see ya!
