In this presentation Kit Neoh expands on the OOTD (Out Of The Day) photo‑sharing concept, arguing that the prevailing square‑format used by Instagram and similar apps is outdated for modern iPhone screens. He traces the evolution of iPhone display sizes from the 3.5‑inch iPhone 4 to the 5.5‑inch iPhone 6 Plus, showing how larger screens enable a full‑screen design language that preserves image detail and offers a more immersive experience. Kit outlines the core problem: users must crop photos to fit the square canvas, losing detail, and third‑party tools like Squaready only partially mitigate this at the cost of quality. OOTD’s solution is a native full‑screen photo‑sharing UI that could become a new design standard. He defines the target market as three niche but growing verticals—fashion, design, and photography—citing the relative immaturity of existing platforms (Pose, UltraVisual, etc.) and the opportunity for a focused brand. The main challenge is building a new UI/UX paradigm; Kit estimates the current design is about 60 % complete and anticipates a more refined version for a 1.0/2.0 launch. Strategically, he emphasizes building an “awesome product” as the primary driver before marketing. Finally, Kit reveals his solo founder status, his need for a technical co‑founder (iOS expertise), and seeks angel investors or advisors, mentioning an upcoming graduation, potential relocation to San Francisco or New York, and contact channels (AngelList, Skype, email). The video concludes with a call for collaboration and a hopeful outlook for OOTD.

Hi, to those who don't know me, my name is Kit Neoh. Previously, I did a video showing the demo of OOTD itself, and for this video, I've done a lot of research to explain further on OOTD itself. This, this video will show you the target market, challenges, and problems of OOTD. Itself. So I am actually gonna show most of the stuff on the whiteboard, and the whiteboard is pretty small, so I'll try my best to squeeze all the information into the whiteboard to illustrate more information for you guys. Thanks. Whiteboard. Yeah, I'll try to cram as much information as I can. Now let me explain the advantage OOTD have over a really popular photo sharing app like Instagram, but to understand that, we need to learn about the timeline of the iPhone itself. And let me illustrate the timeline of the iPhone. This is the first generation iPhone, fourth, fifth, sixth, and 6 Plus. The iPhone, the first iPhone was launched in 2007, 4th was launched in 2010, 5th 2012, the 6 and 6 Plus this year 2014. The first and 4th have a 3.5-inch while the 5th have a 4-inch, 6, 4.7, 6 Plus, 5.5. Instagram was was launched within this timeline itself. And this is the interface of Instagram. This is just a mere illustration. From my understanding, Instagram, Instagram built the square interface around the iPhone 4 because they tried, they definitely tried the full screen And the square interface would fit the 3.5-inch much better than the full screen on a 3.5-inch because it's not as immersive as a square, because a square was enough for the 3.5-inch compared to the full screen. Full screen, they would have sacrificed much more on the design language of the Instagram because Instagram design language itself molds itself around the square interface. And it has brought forward all the way here to the 6 Plus. Your 6 Plus will provide a much better, much more immersive square interface on Instagram. And this is where OOTD comes in. This is where OOTD comes in. A design language that will be full screen on all generations of the iPhone itself. And now let me illustrate the problem. Let me show you the problem that OOT is trying to solve. The square interface introduced by Instagram itself have been a design language for most social photo sharing apps right now in the market. And the reason with this square is that It's really annoying to crop all your photos, and if you have a really nice photo, you have to crop it out. It's really annoying. But you know what? Some users actually have, actually use third-party apps like Squaready to get their full, to get their full image into this small square canvas that shows their full image. But The thing about that is that you have to sacrifice a lot of the detail in the photo. Maybe it looks like that. That's your full screen image. Pretty sure that's your full screen image on Squaready itself. So you sacrifice a lot of the detail. So what the problem that we at OOTD are really trying to solve is to port the design language to a full-screen design language. Why? Because it is more immersive, you get much more detail out of your photos, and it will— and we at OTD will set a new design language for most of the soft— most of the application and software out there in the App Store itself, probably for most social networking apps itself. And why you might say that, um, well, maybe some apps has already done it. And to this day, some apps have done to the photo size, but it's not full screen yet. And the trend of the iPhone itself, the iPhone 4 was a 3.5-inch, the 5 was a 4-inch, and the 6 right now is a 4.7, 5.5-inch. This clearly shows that Apple acknowledged the fact that a bigger screen is much necessary because people demand much more immersive experience into their phone. A bigger screen equals to a more immersive experience. So that would also translate to software having bigger screens on their apps as well. It creates a much better experience, and that's what OTT is trying to solve. Previously, we talked about the problems and solutions OTD will introduce, which is having a full-screen design language. Now let's look at the target market for OTD itself. OTD will focus primarily on 3 categories, which is fashion, design, and photography. Fashion design and photography. And why just fashion design and photography? It's merely about focus. And we do not— we believe that having focus is at absolutely core, and we do not want to lose the integrity of OTD name itself, which primarily focusing on this 3 parts. So if we introduce it as a general, as a general photo sharing app like Instagram or EyeEm, it will lose its integrity of the brand OTD itself. And the best part about the fashion design and photography market is that it is it is still very immature because there are, there are only very limited players like Pose and UltraVisual compared to most, compared to most general apps like Instagram, EyeEm for general photo sharing. Well, Instagram and EyeEm are technically much like the Facebook of photo sharing. And you go to food spotting and burple. These are for food. For fashion design and photography, you only have pose, ultra visual, and de jour. And a bunch of other OT hashtag names out there which are not even photo sharing application. And the whole point of going into this segment, this market, fashion design and photography, is to introduce OTD as its own platform to be fully integrated into fashion design and photography. And like I said, the best part about this target market right here, it is still immature, and therefore it has a much more competitive edge on this target market compared to the food or general. And obviously OTT wouldn't be in food market, but OTT could be in the fashion design and photography market or the general, the general which is under Instagram and I am. But we choose to be primarily focused on these 3 categories, and that is target market. Firstly, we talk about the target market. Now let's look at the challenge that OTT will face, and the main challenge is building a new design language. Instagram has shown the square interface design language for most of the photo sharing as social photo sharing apps out there. And I believe that OTT will be able to usher a new design language of full screen in the current photo sharing app arena today. And the main problem is the UI UX, solving the main design language. I've, I worked on the first version of OOTD, and it is far from completed. I would give, I would give to say about 60% of the design language would have been completed, but a much more better understanding towards the full-screen user interface and user experience will allow us to create a much better version of OOTD in version 1.0. 2.0 when we introduce it out to new users. Let's talk about strategy. Most strategy out there we have, it's generally really repetitive, but I think the most constant strategy that most people would apply till this day is generally building a bloody awesome product, and that is the only strategy Well, the only main strategy that I believe until this day is to build a really good product that people would actually want to use. And then it will go through to different marketing strategies and so on. But primarily at its core, building a really good and awesome product, it is the most fundamental strategy out there. And that is what I believe we will do for OOTD. But now let's talk about a team. Right now I'm working on OOTD by myself, and over the course of years I worked with different people on OOTD, and I would say that I was really naive in the course of working over all those years. But right now I need one technical co-founder with me. And man, if I can actually find a really good technical co-founder, we'll go through a huge and long journey together. But I promise you that this will be one journey that will be so awesome. And this is one journey personally I feel that it is really hard to go on as a solo founder. That is why I need one technical co-founder with me to build the whole iOS infrastructure because I'm not a technical founder itself. I need someone who can complement on my flaws and that's why I really I am addressing to whoever you guys out there, if you are an iOS developer who's really interested in fashion design and photography, really hit me up on AngelList, Skype me or email me. And any angel investors or venture capitalists out there who are really keen on this project and who really want to be an advisor as well as to invest, just really hit me up on AngelList, Skype as well, and I will definitely try to reach back to you as fast as I can. But the status right now, I'm graduating in a month time, and I would most likely be relocating to either San Francisco or New York. I'm still debating on whether to move to San Francisco or New York. So if I can actually get in contact with a couple of investors to gain some advice on which place to move to and to pitch this idea, it would definitely be great. And that is me explaining all about OOTD, and I'm really tired with recording everything, so thank you for watching it. And, um, if it's too long, I really apologize to it, but I try my best to sum most of the information inside. And I really hope that I can create an awesome product. I really hope that I can find a team and we can create a really awesome product for you guys out there. So thank you.
