When you were babies, you knew who you were. Psychoanalysts refer to that as the oceanic feeling. They don't really like it, but they admit that it exists where the baby cannot distinguish between the world and the way it acts upon the world. It's all one process, which is of course the way things are.

This video sheds light about the core message or truth that unifies most religions. It is a simple one, one that is liberating and self finding. It is an invitation to believe in yourself and to find the truth within your own heart. This video is a combination of two messages, a talk by Alan Watts and several channelings.

A lot of people don't know how we got the Bible at all. We Westerners got the Bible thanks to the Catholic Church. The Catholic Church and members of the Church wrote the books of the New Testament and they took over the books of the Old Testament, which even by the time of Christ had not been finally decided upon by the Jews. The Jews did not close the canon of the Old Testament until the year 100 AD or thereabouts at the Synod of Jamnia. And then they finally decided which were the canonical books of the Hebrew Scriptures and embodied them in the Masoretic text, the earliest copy of which dates from the 10th century, early in the 10th century A.D. the books to be included in the New Testament were not finally decided upon until the year 382 AD again at the Synod of Rome under Pope Damasus. So it was the Church, the Catholic Church, that promulgated the Bible and said, we are giving you these Scriptures on our authority and by the authority of the informal tradition that has existed among us from the beginning, inspired by the Holy Spirit. So you receive historically the Bible on the Church's say so. And the Catholic Church insists therefore, that the Church, collectively speaking under the presumed guidance of the Holy Spirit. And you can take that or leave it. Hindus believe that the Vedas are divinely revealed and inspired with just as much fervor as any Christian or any Jew. Muslims believe that the Koran is divinely inspired, and some Buddhists believe that their sutras are also of divine, or rather a Buddhic origin. The Japanese believe that the ancient texts of Shinto are likewise of divine origin. And who is to be judge?

It is a journey of remembering and rediscovering who we truly are until all falsehood is let go and replaced by truth. At its core, falsehood means division, the belief that the universe is separated into an infinite number of parts, small egos, all of which are in Conflict with one another. Falsehood is the idea of a struggle of all against all, in which the realization of the inner unity behind all things has been lost completely. What is the solution to this division? It is to understand all these egos from the inner level and to start embracing all the parts that we have fought against the hardest. For example, a person who has discriminated against people of a different race will choose to live a life in which they undergo discrimination themselves. In this way, their understanding will evolve. The result is ultimately the realization that all those separated egos are connected. Then the love and the light of the soul starts to flow again. The choice for having certain experiences on earth is taken by the soul. When the awareness of the earthly personality is still far removed from the soul. The choices of the soul will be experienced as a kind of power coming from the outside. God or karma. But karma is ultimately nothing more than the lessons that consciousness needs in order to grow. And these lessons are chosen by the soul itself.

So if the church says the Bible is true, it finally comes down to you. Are you going to believe the church or aren't you? So, really, I won't deny anybody's right to hold these opinions. You may indeed believe that the Bible is literally true and that it was actually dictated by God to Moses and the prophets and the apostles. That may be your opinion, and you are at liberty to hold it. I don't agree with you. I do believe, on the other hand, that there is a sense in which the Bible is divinely inspired. But since inspiration always comes through a human vehicle, it is liable to be distorted by that vehicle. In other words, I'm talking to you through a sound system, and it's the only one now available. Now, if there's something wrong with this sound system, whatever truths I might utter to you will be distorted, my voice will be distorted, and you might mistake the meaning of what I said. Now, so therefore, everybody who receives divine inspiration, and I'm using that in a very loose way, but anybody who receives it will express it within the limits of what language he knows. And by language here, I don't only mean English, Latin, Greek, Hebrew, or Sanskrit. I mean language in the sense of what sort of terms are available to you. What kind of religion were you brought up with if you were brought up in the Bible Belt and that's all the religion you knew, and you had a mystical experience of the type where you suddenly discover that you are one with God, he is trying to express what happened to him in terms of a religious language, which is Circumscribed by the Holy Bible. It's all one process, which is, of course, the way things are. But we learn very quickly because we are taught very quickly what is you and what is not you. What is voluntary, what is involuntary? Because you can be punished for the voluntary, but not for the involuntary.

What is the purpose of going through duality? Please do not underestimate the meaning of your lives on Earth. You belong to the most creative, advanced and courageous part of God. You are explorers of the unknown and creators of the new. Your explorations through the realm of duality have served a purpose far beyond your imagination. It is hard to explain to you the deepest meaning of your travels, but we can say that you have created a new type of consciousness, one that did not exist previously. This consciousness was first displayed by Christ when he walked the earth. This consciousness, which I call the Christ consciousness, results from a spiritual alchemy. Physical alchemy is the art of transforming lead into gold. Spiritual alchemy is the art of transforming dark energy into the third energy, the spiritual gold present in the Christ energy. Please note that we do not say that the purpose is to transform dark into light or evil into good. Dark and light, evil and good are natural opposites. They exist by the grace of one another. True spiritual alchemy introduces a third energy, a type of consciousness which embraces both polarities through the energies of love and understanding. The true purpose of your journey is not to have light conquer dark, but to go beyond these opposites and to create a new type of consciousness which can maintain unity. We will explain this rather difficult point by means of a metaphor. Imagine you're a deep sea diver in search of a pearl, which everyone talks about, but nobody has actually seen. Rumors go that not even God, the chief diver, has never touched the pearl. Diving into the ocean is full of perils, since you can get lost or go too deep to catch your breath in time. Still you persist, and you dive into this ocean time and again, for you are determined and inspired. Are you insane? No. You are explorers of the new. The secret is in the process of finding the pearl. You are creating it. The pearl is the spiritual gold of the Christ consciousness. The pearl is you, transformed by the experience of duality. What you have here is a true paradox in exploring the new you are creating it. You have become the pearl of God's creation.

What would the real gospel be? The real good news is not simply that Jesus of Nazareth was the Son of God, but that he was a powerful son of God who came to open everybody's eyes to the fact that you are too. And this is perfectly plain. If you will go to the tenth chapter of St. John, verse 30, there is the passage where Jesus says, I and the Father are one. There are some people who are not intimate disciples around, and they're horrified. And they immediately pick up stones to stone him. He says, many good works I have shown you from the Father, and for which of these do you stone me? And they said, for a good work, we stone you not, but for blasphemy, because you, being a man, make yourself God. And he replied, isn't it written in your law, I have said you are gods? He's quoting the 82nd Psalm. Is it not written in your law, I have said you are gods. If God called them those to whom he gave his word, gods, and you can't deny the Scriptures, how can you say I blaspheme because I said I am a son of God? Well, there's the whole thing in a nutshell. Because if you read the King James Bible that descended with the angel, you will see in italics in front of these words, son of God. The Son of God. Because I said I am the Son of God. And most people think that the italics are for emphasis. They're not. The italics indicate words interpolated by the translators. You will not find that in the Greek. The Greek says a son of God. So it seems to me here perfectly plain that Jesus is. Got it in the back of his mind that this isn't something peculiar to himself. So when he says, I am the way, no man comes to the Father but by me. This I am. This me is the divine. In us, is the divine in the creature by virtue of which we are sons of or of the nature of God, manifestations of the divine. This discovery is the Gospel that is the good news. But this has been perpetually repressed throughout the history of Western religion. Because all Western religions have taken the form of celestial monarchies, which is not the religion of Jesus, which was the realization of divine sonship.

My message was that the Christ energy is present in all human beings as a seed. When you look up to me as some kind of authority, you have misunderstood my message. I wished and still wish to invite you to believe in yourself, to find the truth within your own heart. And not to believe in any authority outside of you. Ironically, the official Christian religion has placed me outside of your reality as an authority to worship and obey. This is quite the opposite of what I intended. I intended to show you that you can be a living Christ yourself. I now ask you to recognize the Christ within and truly a friend and brother to you all.

Utterly exclusive. And so it becomes a freak religion, just as it has made a freak of Jesus an unnatural man. It claims uniqueness, not realizing that what it does teach would be far more credible, that is to say, restated. Again, if then we can see this, that Jesus speaks not from the situation of a historical deus ex machina, a kind of weird extraordinary event, but he is a voice which joins with other voices that have said in every place and time, wake up man. Wake up and realize who you are.

Jesus was an energy from the future who came to earth to bring illumination and knowledge to humanity. He came from another world or even dimension, and he brought with him the elevated energy of this reality. His awareness of his own greater self remained intact while he incarnated on earth. Because of his presence in me, I could easily realize the flexibility of material laws and perform miracles. The reason why the Jesus came to earth was to create an opening or doorway to a different state of consciousness. I wanted to set an example of the possibilities that are available to each human being in the spheres of light where Jesus came from. It was felt that the earth was going into a direction which would end up in great darkness and self alienation. For the souls involved in the Earth experiment, it was decided that a powerful impetus for change was going to be given which would clearly show human beings the choices available to them. By sending the energy personality of Jesus, we wanted to hold up a mirror to human beings and remind them of their own divine origin and the dormant potentials they carried within. The potentials for peace, freedom and mastership over yourself.
