How Account Executives can Boost Productivity TODAY

Three ways to boost productivity by adding constraints: set morning deadlines for prospecting targets, narrow your focus to specific roles at specific companies, and replace old priorities instead of stacking new ones.
One of my favorite ways to improve productivity is to add constraints. Here are some examples you can implement to get more done today. Number one Narrow your time slots. Have you ever noticed that your worst prospecting days are often the days when your calendar is most open? Next time you have that open day, instead of thinking I have all day to prospect, think I need to hit my minimum daily target by 10am Number two narrow your focus. Broad tasks are overwhelming to start, which makes it natural and easy to procrastinate. More specifically, defining tasks will help you initiate and complete more. Here's an example for pipeline generation, a broad task that would be hard to start would be to say, today I want to prospect top accounts. A specific task that's easier to start is today I want to prospect marketing VPs at retailers with 100 to 500 locations. Specificity and constraints make it easier to know where to begin. Narrow your priorities. You've probably heard the phrase, when everything is a priority, nothing is. Here's how I apply constraint to my priorities. If I ever want to add a new priority, I have to eliminate a current one. Ensuring I maintain focus on true priorities instead of diluting my focus with net new priorities ensures my attention remains where I can make the greatest impact. I have found that productivity loves constraints. Add a few to your life and let me know how it goes. If this is helpful, please consider subscribing to my YouTube channel.
