How this Personal Development Podcast Brings Listeners into its Community

Brad Stolberg and Steve Magnus built Growth Equation Academy on Mighty Networks to connect their peak performance community. Members get monthly curricula, a book club with author events, live sessions with replays, and interest-based groups. They use ConvertKit to send personalized onboarding that isn't a sales pitch.
The Growth Academy is a place for members to learn, sharpen their skills and receive personal support on their journey to finding and sustaining performance and excellence in the things that matter to them most.
My name is Chris Douglas and I am the coo, slash co owner of the Growth Equation, which is content media platform dedicated towards the art and science of peak performance and sustainable excellence. And the way we think about that is we want to try to help people perform their best of the things that matter most to them. And, and the other two co founders, Brad Stolberg and Steve Magnus, are published authors in this space and they have a huge following, have written many books, almost a million copies sold worldwide and they thought this was their best way to be a signal amongst the noise, to bring a community together of like minded people all striving to try to perform their best of the things that are important to them. Whether that's in athletics or their business and relationships and anything in between. We, when we decided that we wanted to build out a community, we started looking around and, you know, Mighty Networks quickly rose to the top as the one we wanted to use. I think what we wanted to do we wanted to create sort of like a safe space for like minded people to discuss, to connect, to find commonalities, to sort of engage separately outside of us. One thing we also wanted to do was sort of share all the information that we've been sharing on our weekly newsletter, on our podcast, and just kind of have a place like a repository for all these things that we've been writing, disseminating and speaking about for a really long time. So we thought, well, why don't we use something like Mighty Networks where we can have courses. We have a masterclass on there now that has been super popular since we launched. We're going to have monthly curriculums. We also have a repository for all of the past writings, past presentations and you know, just all sorts of all sorts of information. So when we were looking at a, at a network to try to, you know, basically house all this stuff and have it be something where we could sort of curate the content, give people an experience, walk them through a curriculum and get them onboarded as quickly as possible from everything that we researched, and we researched all of them, I think at this point I can't even remember the word, you know, all the acronyms and the, you know, all the different circles and whatever else you know, Mighty Networks seem to be the one that made the most sense to us. We've also been using ConvertKit for a really long time. So sort of the native integration with Convertkit was really helped, really put it over the top for us.
The Growth Equation Academy of course starts with an excellent welcome experience for new members, but going deeper into people, Magic profit One thing that I've been asked about a lot by other Mighty Networks hosts is where they should feature their monthly themes. Chris does something unique here by laying them all out in a specific space with the table of contents feature turned on. This way members can easily find all previous monthly themes and all material related to that so specific theme. I also love the creative naming of the Shelf Help Book Club. Yet another example of excellent community calendar filled with occurring events and reasons for members to return to the Growth Equation Academy. And something super special and unique that we can see in the next book club meeting which is on September 17, is that Chris actually invited and is co hosting with the author of the book that members are spending their month reading. How cool is that? All members of the Growth Equation Academy have access to the Shelf Help Book Club and there's plenty of options for member interaction as well. They can post their longer thoughts in the feed here, but there's also the chat feature turned on so members have the opportunity for light touch check ins about the book and their reading as well. We can see that there are some other awesome events that members can access as a part of their membership. I like that Chris only schedules them out for the near future. It really emphasizes the focus that each event has on the monthly theme and also doesn't overwhelm members calendar. For example, let's check out the monthly meditation. In this event members chat about a topic related to their podcast and also relating to the monthly theme, in this case Humane Productivity and end with a guided meditation for all members and then all recorded events live in the live event replay space right here so it's easy for members to find them if they missed a session or if they just want a recap exemplified in this space here as well as a ton of other spaces that Chris features. You can host a ton of content on Mighty. You can also upload unlimited video content to a table of contents. Look at all these incredible resources that Chris has between his courses to his content library to his Growth Equation books. Chris really makes use of the ability to upload all of those videos without hitting any sort of storage cap. For example, are you interested in boosting your resilience? Members can check out the resilience content here where members can learn about the psychology of stress and develop key aspects of resilience against that stress. Other things that get in their way and change. Members can then divide themselves into different collectives depending on their interests and this provides further opportunity for both collaboration and connection. For example, in these different collectives, members that take interest in training and coaching and sport, for example, can support each other and provide interesting insight that they wouldn't be able to access anywhere else. And again, the opportunity for member to member connection is really valuable here in the Growth Equation Academy. Since Chris's Mighty Network is all about sharpening skills and learning. There is a space for members to find where they can put their best year ever and their results and transformation to work. Members can connect and share skills in this networking and job opportunities space and as you can see, it's humming with activity. And last but not least, one thing that I want to call out that Chris does in his Mighty Network is outreach. Using Convertkit, he sends out tailored content that honors members membership and doesn't waste their time with sales, communications. And yet another thing that sets the Growth Equation Academy apart, What's the most exciting thing about the Growth Equation Academy to you? Will you promote your offer in a similar way?
