I hear you want to start an online community. Awesome. Maybe you've already chosen a platform like Mighty Networks or Discord, but you haven't launched yet because you're missing that key ingredient, a name. Isn't it crazy how time consuming and hard it can be to find a great name online? Especially when so many are taken. But the process is worth it. Because like a good brand name, once you find the perfect one, it it will work for you forever. So even if it takes days or weeks or even months, let it. You'll thank me later. Now we've seen hundreds of thousands of communities started on Mighty Networks. And there's a simple three part formula you can use to pick the perfect name. Let me jump into it. But be warned, we're going to go old school here with sticky notes and my kids Crayola markers. Oh yeah. And for every word you can think of based on my prompts, write it down on one note. Okay? Ready? Got your sticky notes. Pause this video if you need to and then let's jump in. Number one, who is your community for? Who's your ideal member? Pick a word to describe them. It can be a profession, a hobby, a life stage, an interest. And you want to niche down where you can. So try a couple words that bring that ideal member into super sharp focus. Maybe it's mom entrepreneurs or beach volleyball players of New Jersey. Now number two, what's an adjective that captures what makes them unique? Do they have a mindset in common? Are they going through a really specific challenge right now? What kind of tone or energy do you want them to bring to your community? Jot those down. And number three, what do you want them to do together in your community? What kind of activities? What results are they going to get together together? This is the most exciting part of naming a community because you get to think about the impact it's going to have on your members lives. So think action words and verbs. Okay, once you have your sticky notes, now find a wall and start creating combinations and swapping them around. And if you need a little more to tie it all together, add some words like community, the unite together, school, hub or club. It may take a bunch of different combinations, but in time you'll come up with something great. If you're up for it, share your community name in the comments. We'd love to see what you got. Maybe we can add a little feedback for you. And there's just one thing that's just as if not more important than your community name and that's your community's big purpose. Check out this guy talking about it in this video. Or click the link in the description to get a free guide to creating your big purpose. Okay, thanks for watching.
