Talking about the future of the platform that I just showed you. Tom, great to see you. Great to see you on video.
Yes.
And more excited to see you in person later this afternoon.
You.
I. I got to tell everybody, in addition to running our first People Magic summit virtually with all of you at my house downstairs right now, 30, no joke, 30 of our product and engineering leaders and team are descending on my backyard. So I will post a picture in the challenge of this crew of people, our own People Magic, that we are creating with our company right now. So I get to see Tom later this afternoon. And with that, you have got the floor and I will get removed. And then you can, you can kick us off. Not kick us out, but kick us off.
All right. Well, it is super exciting to be here. Yes. As Gina said, I. We have a little off site. More like an on site at Gina's house. A bunch of people there. I'm excited, looking forward to going over there after this. But I, I just wanted to talk a little bit today about the future of the platform. So I'm gonna share my screen here. Let's see. Sorry, one sec. All right, can you all see that show screen? I think so. All right, so at mitei, we are super focused on the future of community. And I want to talk a little bit about what about community, why we care about community in the first place. And then I want to talk about where the product is going and how it ladders up, how what our vision is and what we believe in. We are building into the software of the product. So you've heard it referred to a million times, People Magic. I think I want to get into kind of the nuts and bolts of what people Magic really is. What are the actual experiences that come out of this focus on people. So obviously, you know, this whole summit is about. Is about community. It's about building a community. And. But at mitei, it is at the heart of everything that we do. And the value of community are the people themselves. And this is. It takes a little while to actually make a transition into really understanding that it's the. The relationships that your members develop with each other that creates the magical experience. Your contents, your ideas, possibly even your name, those are attractants, right? They're the thing that pull people in for the first time. But the reason members of a community, of your community will come back day after day and happily pay you for that privilege is because of the people with whom they are building meaningful relationships. Best of all, those that transformation that happens, the relationships that are built, all of this happens under the banner of your brand and your big purpose and the reason you created the community in the first place. And that means that the value of those relationships, that transformation in your members lives accrues to you. And that is an awesome place to be as a business. But you know, I think that it's a legitimate right now, given all of the factors in the world and how people online are making money, to say, why community? Why would that be the thing? Well, I have a few reasons why I think it's important. I want to just touch on these because they do kind of pertain later to what I want to show you. If you've been focusing on building an audience and developing content and you're wondering if community is right, you are in that place where you're kind of on the treadmill, right? The hamster wheel of just creating and creating, trying to build, build audience and develop all this content. And that is fantastic. Do it. But that's. There is no long term future in that unless you can transition this into something bigger. And we believe that community, in particular the people magic of community, which we are developing, is the way to achieve a level of community that really does what delivers on the promise. And that's how we build our software so that that can happen. Everything we do is focused on empowering you as creators, as authors, as coaches and course creators and entrepreneurs, nonprofits, wherever you're coming from, to create a community so awesome it sells itself that you shouldn't have to kind of hawk it off, right? Try to get people to buy it. It should sell itself and our software should make that easy for you. Now this is hard and we're constantly building and improving to make it possible. That is our vision for you. But why does community matter in the end? Like why, why is this a thing that you would ever build? I promise I'm going to talk about the product. This matters to me and it matters to be able to say this. First of all, a sense of community, of belonging. A of sense. A sense of belonging. There was a study by Harvard called the Study of Adult Development. It's one of the longest studies on happiness. And the conclusion is that strong relationships are the most significant predictor of long term happiness and well being. And now obviously those are the people around you, but they can be found online as well and they can be found in these kind of hybrid, digital and in person communities that we're building. Also this opportunity for learning and transformation. This is, we talk a lot about this transformation. We learn very effectively by observing Others, interacting with others and having that kind of place to do that transformation really is an effective way of getting change in your life. Accountability kind of hand in hand with that transformation is just having somebody there checking in or having a place to check in with people who care that you check in. And then there's networking and collaboration. This is a big one, especially in professional networks. Having a place where you can hook up with people or get to know people, I guess and have opportunities for partnerships and mentorships and the like. This is what community can do. So this is like the human element of community. And I, this is at the heart of like how I think about why it matters because it's about these things. But this is the human side. But there's more than that, right? There's the business side and this is a fantastic business. Just one more minute here. Recurring revenue really matters. You set up a subscription business. There's nothing quite like knowing, locking in your revenue, kind of knowing what's going to happen tomorrow and the next month and the next month after that. This one should sell you high customer retention and loyalty. You build an. You build a community that gives people a sense of belonging and they will continue to pay you for that privilege. And that is fantastic. And lastly, network effects. Just as more people join, this thing becomes more and more valuable. It doesn't deplete, it gets better. And some of the most valuable companies in the world ever built are network effect companies. You can have a little piece of that, your own piece. That's fantastic. Okay, so a Mighty network. Gina was just showing off some of the things in A Mighty Network. We've talked about it a little bit. I'm going to go into some of the details. A mighty network has everything you need to get started, to grow, to scale a community. And we're adding even more awesome things or improving the things we already have. So I'm going to go through some of those. So first of all, plans, payments. Plans don't always include payment. You can gate up, you can gate access to your network or to different spaces through a plan and we are transforming those. I'm gonna talk about that in a second. We've got live streaming, we've got feeds and chats. Gino is showing off some of that stuff. Automations new onto the scene here. Custom fields. It's in alpha right now. So there are some customers who have access. If you want that, you can ping one of our team and we can get you access. It's still in its early stages and a bunch of Segmentation tools to make it easy to understand who is in your network. Beautiful profiles so people can represent themselves there. They look great. That matters. If you're in a community of people, you want to. You want to come. Like the way that you see who that person is is a profile. And it needs to look awesome. And member directories and people explorers. So being able to see all the people there, but also to have different kinds of experiences where you can explore and understand them in unique ways. That really matters to me. And a ton more. I can't go into all of them. It doesn't really matter. I think it. I think you get the idea. This is a fundamental thing. Gino is showing this. I think this is really fundamental. A mighty network is made up of spaces. And spaces can have multiple features. Let me take you through a couple of these. Here is just a chat with a member list. You see those two tabs at the top. Chat and members. You can have multiples. You could have a whole bunch. Maybe if you get too many, it can be overwhelming. But you can pair them up really nicely. 1, 2, 3. Three different features that make each space a unique experience that's tuned to what you need it to be. Here is a great example of content of like a course. Course materials. So we have course content and then maybe you have some events that maybe you do a live streaming every week or something with the members of the. Of the course. Here's just discussion. Here is. A feed with just a place for people to talk. You notice that at the top there's no tabs anymore. Because when we have a single space, we remove the tabs. It just becomes its own thing. You don't have to navigate within it. The next one is events. I'm showing the same thing without a tab. This is a single feature space and you can have full, full page event. So it's a single event. So you have a big mastermind. You want to put that as its own space and let people kind of start to see that and RSVP for that. That is what you can do. So just some. A few examples of how spaces work. This will matter later as I start to talk about the changes we're making. Live streaming. Gina said this as well. We are on the cusp of some really big changes. Under the hood of live streaming. We've rebuilt the ready to go form. So this is the little form that you see before you join. This should make it easier to recognize lots of different professional equipment. It lets you set all the right settings before you go Live and it remembers what you set for the next time. Makes it a lot easier for you. You don't have to reset it. Once you get it tuned to the way you like to go live, it stays that way on all the devices you have. Basically, this is third gen live streaming for us. It's more stable, more predictable, smoother. We still have a ways to go. We're still building on this. In fact, it's not going to be until probably the end of the year that we have all of the pieces under the hood working for recordings and all the layouts. But this is a real big focus for us because this is how you interact with your customers many times or with your members. Yes, a few updates to the layout. Lastly, not lastly. Next plans. Plans again. Plans are how you can charge. They're also just how you gate access to different sets of spaces in your network or the network itself. Okay, I'm not going to show you what we're doing to plans because it's so vast, so big. In fact, in the next few months over, you know, next quarter or two, you're going to see some of the largest changes to plans we've ever made since we introduced them. Changes to privacy so that any space can be added to a plan that privacy doesn't change. You don't have to change it to payment gated, which is what you currently have to do. This will allow you to add public things into a plan and also secret things into what you would call secret things. Now into a plan give access to somebody and if they have access to that plan, they have access to those things inside. This will really revolutionize the way we even think about what a plan can do and how it kind of is the center of, of giving access to people. A system for a value journey. So you can say, hey, if you land on this space, I want to go to this next one afterwards and I'm going to show you how that kind of becomes reality in just a moment. An entirely new payment and intervals and installments. This is a big one, huge way. The ability for a member to buy the next plan on that value journey that you're going to be able to implement is a huge one for moving people along from kind of a funnel or early stage thing, lead, lead gen kind of space into a full, you know, experience and refreshed landing pages and, and checkout and new plan landing space. So what does this mean? This means that when somebody joins a plan, you can do direct the plan from the plan itself. You can say they land on one specific space and that, that matters because you might have a welcome page, you might have, you know, very specific space you want them to start in. So they can see that and now you can direct that. And it's a per plan setting. So that's coming really soon. We just introduced automation. If you don't know what automations are, this is kind of the hub of a network. It's the, the, it's where you can set up automated workflows that basically say if this happens, do this thing. And we found a ton of people getting a bunch of value out of this. We are just getting started. I like to think about Mighty Networks as a kind of system of systems. So you have a, you have a big system of, of my, of of the network and inside of that we have all these other little systems. Automation is, is a great example of one but plans is another one. Live streaming is one and more and more we are interconnecting those systems so that they work really well together kind of in they, they, they, they, they interplay in a way that makes your job easier and makes it easy to go from one thing to the next smoothly. And automations is a great example of how this happens. So you go up, you set an automation. First of all you create triggers. You pick from a list of triggers. Things like somebody joins a space or somebody leaves a space or somebody completes a lesson or a section in a table of contents or course materials. There's a whole slew of them. They're really awesome. And the next thing you do is you add actions. What do you do? If they join a space you can add a badge. If they complete a course, you can invite them to a new course. That's the kind of stuff you can do. As we go forward we will continually add triggers and actions for every new feature. I'm going to show you some of those new features in just a moment. Custom fields, new on the scene. This is just on the cusp of being able to be released. Also will be growing as we move along it. We are the first thing we release with will just be the start and we'll continue to add to it. Let me, let me. So I'm going to transition here. I'm going to jump over, I'm going to stop sharing for just a second and then I am going to share a difference screen. Let's see here. See. All right, so I'm gonna, I'm gonna kind of take you in a little prototype here of what the things are you're gonna be able to be doing with custom fields and kind of not just what they are currently or what they're gonna kind of be released at, but where do they go? What, why build this thing? And how do we see it laddering up to real true people magic? First of all, let's just start with the settings, the boring side. We'll get to the funner side in a minute. You create a field. You can pick a name and description and a placeholder. You can also pick the type. Now, right now we have a dropdown. This little thing right here that you see with a little arrow next to it, little carrot. That is a dropdown. You're going to create those kinds of fields initially. That's the only kind we'll release with. And then we'll be following that up with other types, a whole bunch of different types in the future. You'll pick the type that. Now you see that there's a placeholder here. That's the text that's inside of the dropdown. That little bit of text that you see right there, that's. You're going to be able to control that. So you have a lot of control over these in configuring them the way you want. Now you can also choose the response type. So you can say multi select or you can. So you could also just have single select. So they can only pick one or you can let them pick multiples. And then you can actually, you know, if you select multi select, you can limit how many. So yeah, they can pick up to 10, right? And then you can allow a custom response option. This is, I have that checked here. So like, let's say, let's make a generic question, what is your favorite dessert? And I list five or 10 desserts and somebody shows up and they say, well, where is peach pie? You forgot peach pie. If I have this checked, I'm allowed to enter my own option there and write peach pie. And that will show up where it shows up. Then you're going to put in those options. You can put up to 20 here, right here in the creation, but you can add as many as you want later or a bunch afterwards. Then lastly, there's the visibility. And this matters in just a minute. This is like who can see this field? You are not going to want every field or everything. You ask a person to show up on their profile. I'm sure there are some things that are sensitive between you, the hosts and the responder, the person responding, the member. You don't those things, some things you might want to validate from them, but you don't need them to show up on their profile. So now you can choose if it's public, it's going to show up on their profiles, basically. And if it's private, it's going to show up in a different area, but still lets you ask those questions that you may need. So I create the field and bam. Now I'm going to show you what that looks like when you're using it. But let's just really quick look at the reordering. You can reorder these fields. So this is how they're going to appear on people's profiles and in lists. And you can change, you can turn some of them off, you can make them not visible, you can reorder them here for both the public fields and for the private fields. The private fields will show up on the member detail page, which is like the page you see when you are on the member list in Settings or in admin and you're able to click on a member there. You see a special page there that has more than just a profile, has all the information about them and that's where those private fields will show up for you, for them, for the member, they'll show up in their profile personal settings. All right, so great. Let's look at what this experience is like for the member because that's where it really matters. This is where it's exciting, this is where the fun happens. Also, if you note, we just released update to some of the interface, some clean, kind of a refreshed ui, new iconography in a few places and continue to roll out some changes to the way things look. So you see it's a little different looking. Go to click on a person here from the People Explorer familiar profile. But you'll see that it is updated. The image of the person is much larger now and the kind of font and text weights and stuff have been updated. You see the people graph we call. This is a place where you can explore the person you're looking at and the people that kind of surround them. The cloud of people around them go down. I see badges. All these are familiar things or they should be up now. But this is where it really gets interesting right now all of a sudden. Oh, by the way, sorry, strong caveat here. I always forget to say this. I use a network that is my made up network. It's called Modern Creator, which is an art network. I have a background in fine arts. It's an art network where it's the kind of intersection of art and business. So I think that that's a pretty good idea actually. It probably should get started up, but as a network, but teaching people how to run the business side of art, but also just there's a bunch of artists in here. I have tuned my custom fields to speak to them. That's what's so great about custom fields. And the way we've done this is now a profile is tuned to your network, what matters to you as people. So I have a bunch of different kinds of fields. You see, some are multi select, some are single select. I've set the order here before. So now I see collaboration interest, the one I just created. So now when a member shows up, they see this little plus, they click, they can choose multiple options, add it to their profile, and now that is, they're represented. Awesome. So how are these employed? What are we going to do with this information? And that's where it becomes magic. So right now, if you look at the people Explorer, we've got the photographers near you, so that, that's interesting. So I have these two little bits of information here. I have a location. So these are people near me and they're photographers, film photographers in particular. Well, that's cool. So we have this now, right? Because you have the member category and you have location, that's not enough. I mean, that's two factors. But humans are multifaceted and we know that we need to represent people in a multifaceted way. And so to do that, let me talk about how we're starting into a process of kind of taking all of the data that comes inside of a mighty network, custom fields in particular, but also the other things that people share, their location, the posts they write, the comments they write, the preferences they have, the reactions to things that they have, even the sentiment with which they express and gathering all this information as facts. And the reason we want to do this is for you, our customers, our hosts. We're going to take all that information and run it through a interesting advanced AI system that we are developing that can organize this information and spit out on the other end clusters and recommendations for different people in the network of groupings of people based on kind of how they are interrelated and interconnected. This has been a dream of ours from the beginning of mighty networks. With the advancement of AI and the kind of the surge of AI development, it is finally at a place where we're able to take advantage of it and create this recommendation engine. Why does that matter? Well, because now let's just go back to that People Explorer I mean, this is the first example. I can show you other examples. This one is the first one. I'll show you one more in a moment. So now I show up to the people explorer and I see groupings of people. They're smaller, but they're very, very specific. Right here. This is very interesting that now a sentence can be written. This is where AI is. Like, there's a lot of things AI can do. We want to employ it for this kind of purpose to make connections to people. Now I can see, wow, wait, these are film photographers who also studied painting, like you. That is a very interesting intersection, right? It's not just that they're film photographers, they also study painting. So, like, that's a weird and interesting intersection. And who also primarily market their work through Instagram. Being able to write that out, I can't. Like 15 years ago, if you could tell people that, that you could create a system that could write out a sentence that's specifically tuned like this, with all this intersections of information and hand it to people, it would have seemed insane. But now with AI, we can do this. And here are six members in Denver near you, who are interested in collaborating on public art projects. Suddenly, that's. Those six members become very interesting. Think about this. I joined a network of 5,000 people. How do I find those six people that are interested in. In collaborating on public art projects who are near me in Denver? I mean, yes, I can go and look at everyone's profile one by one, right? And that's fantastic. And there's nothing wrong with exploring people. But shouldn't the software do it for me? It knows that information, or it can, if you build the right systems. And couldn't it deliver it right to me so that I don't have to go hunting? I can just have it delivered right to me, like the people that are interesting to me. And we can continually do this in different kinds of clusters so that there's going to be some that really appeal to you. And it makes it so much more, so much easier to show up as a new person in a new network and find people like me. So, okay, Let's take a different tact now. So just hold all that information. I think that's awesome. That's people magic. Here's another tact that we're also building in tandem. What if I show up on the Internet to this space just as I'm seeing it right now? It's public, it's open, it's a single space that just lives out on the Internet? You send Me a link and say, hey, join my. I have a course and this is what it looks like. It's a single space. You recognize that it's a space. It has two features in it. Just talked about that in a minute ago. But it doesn't have the kind of trappings of the network around it, doesn't have all of the pieces around it. I'm able to peruse this page here and it has some interesting design elements. Some instructors. Let's pretend it has more. I didn't have a lot of time to create a whole page here. It's a lot to create your own fake landing page. But I have this landing page and this is interesting. I'm intrigued. Well, I'd like to see this course material. I click, but, oh, I can't get through there. I have to unlock the course by sharing a little bit about myself. So let's get started. Okay, I'm interested. I would like to take this course on creating an art business. And so I click through here you see a fully refreshed account creation experience with some opportunity for branding. So I fill out my account. Now you see a little form. So now take those ideas of the custom fields and let's say we can create forms and you could put those in this kind of experience where somebody's joining, in this case just a single space, not even the full network, and ask them appropriate questions, gather information. Maybe that's the thing that you're trading with them, right? You're saying, here's a free course, gather a little bit of information about you, and then I can help use that information to. To help you go on a value journey and ultimately get that big transition in your life of creating the art business you've always dreamed about. So I fill out that information. Great. And I land back in my single space. Now the course is unlocked. You see all the information here. I can start taking this course. I can start interacting in this course. But you see also there is a upgrade prompt where I can look at some different plans for full access. So interesting. Now you've taken me and you've given me like kind of a free thing. Think of this a little bit like a funnel, right? I've taken all these people, I've given them a free thing, and some of them have given me information and helped me get them on this path. And now I'm going to keep moving them along the path. So they go pick a plan and they, let's say, let's pretend like I just went and paid money and did the Flow. I come back, I don't have to go anywhere. And now I'm in the network. You see that partially. Some of the things in the network have shown up and I have a few spaces now. A new navigation over here on the left has shown up. And as time goes this can become a full rich experience, all starting right in that place where you started at the beginning. You don't have a landing page and then you take them over here and then take them over there. It's it all happens right in one spot and before long I'm in a rich and full experience with that one course and many other courses and all of the other trappings and awesome experiences that you can have, including little right panel which we will be developing soon per space. Cool. Now remember what we just talked about with custom fields. I filled out all that information. We know something about this person, right? So let's say that they're moving along and you get a pop up. AI can pop up and say, hey Dylan, meet Lila Brashwell. You have a bunch in common. Here's all this information about her. And you seem like you might want to get introduced. Imagine that I could be introduced right to Lila. Or what if I could say there's 19 members near you. Would you like to chat with them? And you could join a chat, a local chat based on your location. These are the kinds of things we'll be developing and soon we can do this because of that people magic engine, that way of making recommendations and clusters of people. Now we can show you individual people that are like you or that are interesting to you and also groupings of people. And we can do it in different ways. We're not going to just have explorers where you can explore people, although those are fun. We're going to hand deliver in different ways these experiences. So these are just some of the ways that we are trying to make communities rich and interesting. To show the, you know, to introduce people to each other, to show the, the different facets of, of of the humans that are in that place. But we have one. I have one more thing that I want to talk. We when we create features for my D networks we, we do it in tandem. We co create with our hosts. We listen a lot to what you all have said to us. And over the years this has been true. And over the years we've added features that and, and listened to our hosts when they asked for specific ways of doing things that have been revelatory to us. Just we've realized, oh wow, there's a Whole thing here we didn't quite see before. Also, they've just been revolutionary and they're changing the way we do business. Adding courses. We started with just community, right. And added courses because we could see that there was something there. And people were talking about that there was no good community for their courses materials. And we combined that no one would. Had done that. And in fact, lots of people told us that it was crazy sauce. And so we continue to push forward in this way, listening to what our hosts want. This is really a critical way, I think, of doing business, listening to your customer. You don't always listen to everything. You have to listen with a kind of larger vision of what could we do that could satisfy the most people and do the good that we want to do in the product. One of the features we've been looking at a lot is gamification. Hosts have been asking, can you add gamification? And yeah, we think gamification has a lot of potential. It also has a lot of drawbacks. So we've thought long and hard and really deeply about how can we create gamification in a way that stays true to the values of mighty networks, that stays true to the idea of people being the focus of the network. Not content, not, not, not turn it into, I guess, a cheap game, just to be straight about that. So I'm excited. This is really new stuff to show off some of the ideas that we've been exploring. And we got a team on the case right now, some awesome people working on gamification in particular. So I'm gonna show you some of the things that we're doing, and I hope that it really demonstrates how we've put people at the center. We want to create real engagement, more engagement. And I will say, our mighty networks, we have stellar engagement. That's. We have. We. We pride ourselves on it. We focus on it. It's what matters, that real engagement comes from our networks. It's not easy, and there's a lot of factors that we even can't control some of those factors. Right. But the software should do everything it can to encourage engagement that's real and meaningful and. And not cheap. So that's what our focus was. Keep centered on people and create engagement. So let's jump back into a network here, and you'll see some new things. Leaderboards, a global feature. Remember, all global features you can rename, including leaderboards. And if it shows up here as a global feature, you'll have the chance to rename it that really matters, that you can tune the branding, not just the visual branding, but the words that you use. You can tune them to your kind of your vibe. So I show up here. I'm Dylan here. Doesn't look like me, but it's okay. So what if I show up and the first, I'm coming back after a day being away, you know, I log back on and as soon as I do, a little, a little new indicator shows up here. That little star that was up there lights up, increments up a couple of numbers and it says, I just received three points for my daily streak and I'm two days away from my fire. Okay, that's cool. Like, I'm intrigued now, right? We're starting to see some of the elements here. Okay, let's look at what this little star is. Open it up. And now we start to see some of the elements of our gamification idea. First of all, I have 34 points. I have 12 streak days. And you can see in 14 days streak I get fire emoji. And that's cool. Also there's a little, a little, a little points indicator there. Maybe I get a couple of points for getting there also. Gifts received. So I have 12 inspiring gifts or 28 energizing seven heartfelt. Right? So I start to see some of the gifts now. So starting to see the elements. So I'm coming along and I'm scrolling down the feed and I see Zoe and I go to hover over Zoe. I think she just wrote a really great article here. I hover on it. We see a new hover card. Quick information about Zoe right here. I see some of the stuff. She's a three days heart champion. So I guess she, she got three days streak. She's a super giver. I don't know what that is, but that's interesting. I see some badges and a big noticeable button to give. Let's check out what giving is here. I see that I can recognize Zoe for the post that I'm clicking on. I have 34 points and it looks like I can buy one of these values to give to Zoe. I can pick one of the values that she's demonstrated. So if you don't get it, the point here is that while we're going to have a system of points, some way to create points which you can rename. I'll show you that in a minute. They're in effect a currency to buy gifts and give gifts to each other. They don't have value on their own. You're not ranked on how many points you get. You're ranked on how many gifts you've received. And that way people are able to push other people up. And the point of getting points is to transfer those, to exchange those, to give to other people. So I click on inspiring and I give it to Zoe and awesome, she's received my gift. Inspiring. Nice. Okay, so what does Zoe experience? Let's jump over to Zoe's feed. So she's here moving along in the feed and she, you know, while she's looking at the screen, a new indicator pops down. A little toast or a little, a little notification. Her little what, what we're kind of referring to as a game center up here. Little star that, that lights up and, and this little notification pops down and says Dylan recognized you for your post that gave you the gift. Inspiring one. That's exciting for me receiving the gift. It's exciting for Dylan who gave it to me because he's also on his own journey of becoming a super giver. He's using the points that he intrinsically earns because he wants to show back up for the people in the community and get his straight points. But the point of those is to exchange with other people. Also we can, we can spice it up or, or kind of infuse the system with a little randomness and so every once in a while we can just give out points. So let's say also that, you know, every so often, because I received inspiring a few times, I receive a few bonus points empowering me to give more to other people. Okay, so what's it like to set this up? Let's jump over here to a host. Host view is not much different than. But you do see some new updated icons. Those are live now. I go to admin here will jump right to gamification. What really is interesting that I find very exciting is the point of the values that you set up. These are going to be tuned to what matters for your people. What are the values that the ideal member should emulate in your community? And they can be wildly different depending on the community. And that's great. That's why it's fun. In a network where people are trying to lift each other up and inspire people, then you're going to use words like this where they're trying to help each other. Then you could use helpful or supportive. There's so many kinds of words and things you could use to be ideal kind of values of that community. And we'll have AI here as a helper to help you set it up. If you don't have an idea yet. And it all can be based on your big purpose that you kind of co create with our co host system. You can set the values of those how many points they cost. And you can rename the word values so you can call them what you want. Streaks. You're going to be able to set up the streak system. So how many days for three days do you have that on or off? What do you call it? And what is the I or what is the emoji? Same thing all the way down. And you can rename streaks to whatever you want. This is in keeping with what we really believe, that everything should be tuned to the vibe that you have in your network. Same thing with points. You're going to be able to rename points column what you want, change the icon, we'll have a few to choose from. The Top Giver is a special little option that lets you kind of recognize people who either get to zero a lot by giving away their points or different kind of attributes, give every day those kinds of things. You'll be able to set up some different parameters on the Top Giver and the little avatar will show up, or I'm sorry, not avatar, but emoji will show up next to their name if they're a top giver. And again, the whole, the whole idea here is to drive engagement and to, to, to create an experience where people are welcomed in early on, where the points you accrue aren't, aren't the value, but instead it's what good you do for the people there that matters. The focus is not on just creating content, but creating content that matters to people and that is useful for people. So this is again just, I think, a great example of what it is how we think about community in the first place, that it's the people that matter and the experiences they have and the relationships that they build with each other. Our software, our product team, our engineers, this is what we're focused on all the time, is how do we make software actually deliver on that for you? How do we make it possible to build relationships with people? I mean, obviously we can just say build relationships, great, but can the software do stuff? Can it do something? Can it interject in the right places without being bothersome? And if you're a person who's like on that content treadmill, building an audience, trying to go to content, or build all this content, you know, writing a book and you're thinking, oh, like what do I do after? I really want to encourage you to consider community because I think community has both, from a human perspective, fantastic payback and what you can do in the world. But also it's a fantastic business where you can make real money and people are happy to pay it because they get real value from it. So that is all I have. I. I think I'm under my time. I don't know how that's possible. I usually talk too much, but I'm happy to take a few questions or address anything that I kind of missed.
Tom, I decided to come back in because we've been in the chat and so maybe I can give you some questions from people, how to sort of think about it. So, first of all, wow, I think that. I think I'm speaking for everybody in the chat and some of this stuff I actually have to say I hadn't seen yet. I mean, I knew we were doing it, I knew the things, but I had not seen it. So I actually thought it would be kind of fun to be surprised by some of the design details that you were thinking about and how you and the team had put them together. And again, as I shared with everybody before we started, our product and engineering leadership is literally walking downstairs. So I'm hearing their voices as well, and I'm thinking about all of the different things that we're putting together. And I'm just incredibly grateful for our team. And I'm incredibly grateful not just for the hosts who are at Mighty today and they're listening to this and they're like asking those really detailed questions of like, but what about whether or not you're going to have a live stream replay automatically added to the event and produce a new post and then the next person basically being like, what's a Mighty network? So this is not. This is. This was not an easy presentation to put together. So if, if we were to just sort of summarize, Let me see if I've got it. Like, let me see if, if I was following it. Number one, we have custom fields. We have custom fields that are going to allow you as the host, to cluster your members in more and more interesting ways. So if we think about today, it's members near you or top members, or these very similar simple member categories with custom fields, you are going to be able to create fields that are right for your community. And one of the things that came up in the chat, Tom, that I think you will appreciate is using the new People Magic GPT to come up with some of your custom fields that you want to basically ask your members to answer when they join.
Yep.
Also, this is Just a com. This is just a public service announcement. Don't go nuts. Don't. Don't ask 25 questions. You can ask 25 questions, but do you want to. The answer is no. Okay, so we had. Wait, where did we start? Right? What was right before plans? There was something right before plans. Was it live streaming?
Live streaming Automations.
Automations. Wait, but there was one right at the beginning as we're summarizing this.
I don't know. Right this second. I don't know. Hold on one sec.
All right, well, live streaming. So let, I want to take a second on live streaming and, and let me.
Sorry, before live streaming it was just, we, I was just talking about all the space, kind of different configurations of spaces and how they can have the multiple features.
Great.
Is a super great thing. Then I talk about live streaming and automations and plans.
Yep. Hey, one of the things, John, you're like, oh my gosh, this chat's going in so many different directions. Focus up here. We're going to summarize what we did in this session. We've got a few more minutes to be able to do that. And I was in the chat, I think I got kind of the key points. So let's just take this from the top. A mighty network exists to bring people together in new and absolutely innovative ways, period. Full stop. That is why we exist as a platform. And I think you heard that from Tom, you hear that from me, you, if you were in my backyard this afternoon or this morning, you'll hear it from every single person. It is why we exist. It's also why we don't just take whatever is the latest fad or thing or like what do we have to do and how do we have to do it? We exist as a platform for people magic. So what delivers People magic number one, the ability to see other members, understand what you have in common with them and break the ice and start to get really smart using advanced software automations and yes, AI to break the ice and start to build relationships between members. So how do we do that in more and more sophisticated ways? Not sophisticated that you have to be an expert as the host, but that there's a co host there who's, who's set up to help you, just like we're doing with that People Magic GPT right now. So number one is custom fields, the ability for you to ask the questions up front as well as later on that you want to make sure that you've got in your database as the host, but then also for members to know about each other. Number two is, and I'm going to come to plans last, if that's okay. Number two, live streaming. So I want to talk about live streaming for a minute because we decided to use Streamyard for this virtual summit. And the reason we chose to use streamyard is because we'd never done a virtual summit for brand new people on the Internet before. We had invited people into Mighty Community or our Path to Pro Membership or our Mighty Pro Membership. And we do live streams in there all the time. Time. But we had never done something where it was like hey, come to our open house. And so we decided to use Streamyard because you didn't have to like create a full account, you didn't have to fill out a bunch of profile questions, all of that stuff. But I just want to say a couple things about our live streaming and I've got some surprises to talk about later this afternoon and they include our live streaming. But our live streaming is today being used by some of the biggest creators in the world to go live with their memberships and their communities when their memberships and communities are paying them a lot of money. And it turns out you can whip up a live streaming feature pretty quickly but to scale it to 20,000 concurrent members or viewers to make sure that you've got the ability to bring people on stage, have the all the features that Tom talked about in terms of what's happening in the chat, it turns out you got to work pretty hard at it. And that is what one of our teams has been doing for the last few months. So we're going to launch this gen 3 live streaming next week and then more amazing features are coming on it as we go. Automations. Why do automations exist? Automations exist because there's a set of things that you all want to do and you want your members to be able to see. I saw it in the chat a few times where it was like hey, but what if I want them to watch this video? Or what if I want them to to see this preview? What you what what you have now in place with Automations is this ability to do if then statements. So if my member joins then I want them to meet the other members in Palo Alto, California. If my member joins then I want them to be able to have a new member badge or one of my favorite ones. Tom, I don't know if you heard this from, from Tim, our third co founder, that that hosts are putting Easter eggs in different places in their. In their networks with Automations. So if Member goes to this one post or messages me, then give them this badge or give them this gift, which is pretty amazing. What's next in my list? So Automations.
Plans live streaming.
I'm gonna come back to plans custom fields. And then we talked about marketing funnels. Yeah, we talked about.
Started the. We. Yes, we started.
I'm gonna actually fill you guys in on. So I'm gonna tell like, because we are, we are a community here right now. We have an internal name for these that I think we just have to like because we're all looking for like. Okay, well how do we talk about it? We will talk about them as funnels. They are funnels. But we also talk about them internally as networkless spaces. Basically the ability to have a space that someone can join before they become a member of your mighty network. This has been something that if you are a longstanding Mighty network host, you have wanted. Why have you wanted it? Because it's a funnel. It's this ability to give people a taste of your mighty network before they are full members, before you have to join. This is the way, this kind of funnel space is the way to do a freemium model. It, it is going to be the absolute most effective way of doing this. Frederick Longstanding over here. We've launched some things on mighty networks where people will come in and, and, and again, we're so grateful for, for our hosts. And they'll basically say things like that's great. I've been waiting for this for 478 days. And we're like, this is why we like you. It's why we like you. So this ability is something we're going to talk a lot more about. We are starting work on these now. They are going to mean that you will be able to funnel people not through all sorts of other zaps and things and stuff, but by bringing people in, showing them people magic, showing them the value of what you're creating. The other benefit of this is going to be that you can essentially test out your idea before you have to launch an annual membership or a monthly membership or a lifetime course. You can literally show up, launch a two week challenge. Or what about a countdown to January 30 day challenge at PeopleMagic MN Co and validate your idea, validate that what you want to bring into the world, the people who you want to serve in that transition, want what you have so you don't have to have that fear of, well, what if I put this out and five people show up and now I'm stuck with them For a year. That Martinez story from the very beginning, the first session, on our first day, oh, so many days ago, three days ago. And so this ability to validate. So I just, I want to just celebrate Tom and, and the team that are currently having coffee in my backyard because they, they saw this and they co created it with you. They co created this with you. And then Tom's one more thing. So I'll share something else with everybody here because we're sharing right now. I hate the term gamification. I hate it. I know I'm in the minority, but what Tom and the team have done is said, okay, what's, what's the core idea here? And how do we take anything that's out there in the market and filter it through the lens of creating people magic? And that's exactly what they did. And so as we are starting to work on these now and we never give specific dates because we let our features bake. So we have a whole process where we bring folks in. If you want to be a part of an alpha, great. We have a way. Jane will put the forum in the chat. You can be a part of the alpha. The reason we do an alpha is to make sure that the thing that we are putting out into the world is not half assed. Why? Because we build a business. Like our entire platform is designed to make you look amazing. It's designed to make you look amazing. It's designed to give you credit for all of this people magic that we're, that we're here to make easier and easier and easier and easier. Trivial even. And if we start putting things out into the world that are half assed, guess what happens? You don't look great. You don't look great. And there's a lot of other people that are out there in the world and software that are like, just get it out, say you have it, check the box. Because no one's going to be able to see that we don't have it to the level of quality that you need to be able to drive that engagement, drive, drive that retention, drive that word of mouth, drive that viral growth. And we don't believe that's okay. So we are relentlessly releasing right now. We are, we are doing new updates to our platform every single week across web, iOS and Android on our apps. And the over 400 creators, entrepreneurs and brands who have their own branded apps have all of this goodness on their own branded apps, which drive about 20% more engagement when it's under your brand. And so what Tom and The team have done in terms of conceptualizing and working with actually other Mighty hosts, like Jane McGonagall, the Amazing Game designer, to really get at the essence of what are we doing to unlock more and more people magic? Because people magic is sticky, people magic is valuable. People magic is how we are going to get back to being great at people stuff because we're not not that great at it right now. So I think I summarize everything. Let me tackle the last piece, which is our plans. So plans are how you charge in a mighty network. Plans are also how people just belong to certain spaces, belong to certain collections of spaces, or belong to the network as a whole. Plans today on Mighty are a little bit more complex than any of us want them to be. And it has been something that came from actually being one of the pioneers of how to work within the Apple system. Is the answer for like, how did we end up here? You know, it's so easy from the outside and I think, you know, Tom, you and I have joked about this. It's so easy from the outside for somebody to look at a platform and say, you know, either they're stupid or evil. And in this case we are neither. It was certainly driven by a specific need that we had. So we are simplifying everything. Part of that is from again, this ability to just reimagine what it looks like to spin up a space, be able to charge for it, be able to offer it for free, layer on top the network and all the things that you want to do in the network and just make it feel, as Marie Forleo said yesterday, spacious. There's space for you and there's not about overwhelm. And everything that we are doing on the platform from here is to enable your members to come in, to build relationships with each other, to keep coming back, to get results in transformation that they cannot get not only on their own, but in any other Frankenstein configuration of whatever it is that's happening elsewhere. And here's the thing that is coming not tomorrow, not before any of the things that we've talked about today, but as we build intelligence into these relationships, we are creating a co host for you who can talk to your members about who else you want to invite in, who are those other ideal members who, who can get results that they can't get on their own by being a member of your community and then how best to talk to those other members who are joining. This is going to enable a, a world where you can start a community with just 10 people and monetize it through memberships, through challenges, through events, through courses. I think courses are going to continue to evolve over time because we just don't want to consume a lot of content. We want to build relationships with each other. And as we do that, what this ultimately becomes, it ultimately becomes the perfect business. Energizing because you're unlocking relationships that are incredibly valuable to your members. The opportunity to create and, and watch people apply frameworks that make their lives better and creates a lot more value for them and therefore you, and ultimately, if we do our jobs right, help you, you and your members make the best friends of their lives. And everything that you just saw that Tom went through. And Tom, thank you so much. I, I, you know that I randomly call you at times and just say I am so grateful for what you're doing and how you're doing it with the rest of the team. And it's incredible. It's not anything that is possible by one person trying to go and just think, think harder about solutions. So thank you.
Well, you're welcome. Let me. Sorry.
No, please.
No one's going to call gamification just because I don't like the gamification work either. I don't know what to call it right now. That's a concept word. It's not the word any member will ever see in your mighty network. I guarantee you that. I do not want to be calling it a game even to them, like this is just a fun thing you do together. It's just an activity. So let's make sure about that. And we don't do half ass features. I couldn't agree more. Yeah, so many people will just throw stuff out because then they say they have that thing and that's fine. I mean I get it. Like they're playing their game, but our game is making you host successful. And to be so many features that, that work, that actually do what they promise to do.
Yeah, yeah. We also have been around enough and have served. You know, whether you are starting from scratch or you are scaling to the next 20 million in revenue at 99% margins, here's the thing. We've learned anything that we have built half ass because we needed to get it out or we just didn't understand it or it was the V1. Do enough of these chats and guess what? You got somebody. I think it's Phyllis in the chat right now who is like you dum dums do not have the replay automatically becoming the event link and post. And we hear that we, we, we are Listening to everything. And there will, we will have that conversation of like, could we have that done? Is that possible? And so it's just a better way to run our platform and a better way to run our business for us to be able, you know, very clear on our North Star. It is people magic. It is creating a network that gets more and more valuable to every member with each new person who joins and contributes and making sure that those details that just can save you even five minutes are things that we also get to as well.
Yeah, and, and you don't. I, I love that, that you all push us and push us. Those of you who have been around and seen where we had flaws. The thing is, is that we are constantly addressing those we, we just did, I don't know, 15, 20 in one squad in a month. Just like they were just plugging away at the most inane little tweaks to make sure that this thing works with that thing. But those things really matter to you and we hear it and they matter to us too. It's just that you can only do so many things and so we'll get to them all as we, as we can.
Yeah. Well, anyways, thanks anyways. As if like, okay, well, great talk. Nice to see you. No, but seriously, thanks everybody for being a part of this. I know we went into details and popped out and popped in. If you are brand new to mighty networks, here's what I will tell you. Just join the challenge and we are going to break things down day by day, step by step, and there is nothing anywhere that we're not here to help with and take off your plate. There's a lot of things that we talk about that is they, they are all coming and we will, we will drip them in, in ways that feel really good and really manageable. So with that, the next session starts in 15 minutes. So 12:30 Eastern Time. I hope you will join us. I am going to be interviewing Lovey A. Jones and it's going to be fantastic. So I hope to see you there. Tom, thanks again and I will see you live in a little bit. All right, take care.
Bye Bye.
