Welcome to Day 2 of People Magic Summit—From Zero to $1M in 2025

Transcript excerpt of the opening for Day 2 of the People Magic Summit (hosted by Kyle Ford with Jane Stutzick). Hosts outline the day's agenda (fireside chat with Jefferson Fisher, product preview with Tom, growth session with Daryl Westerfeldt), explain the People Magic strategy and why a paid front-door membership model works, and present revenue/participation math showing how small paid memberships scale (example: 30 members × $48/month → $576/year → $17,280). They describe summit-related offerings: a 14-day challenge, a $199 fast-mover community plan (includes five custom profile fields), People Magic GPT (an AI co‑host in ChatGPT), recommended books, and direct offer questions to chat@mightynetworks.com. The hosts emphasize that paid memberships increase engagement, act as a filter for fit, and can scale via member invitations to reach ~1,000 members and a $1M/year business.

I can't believe we are sitting here on day two now why like that sounds like kind of an over exaggeration. Like I can't believe but like yesterday was amazing. Today we have so many awesome things planned and I could not be more excited. So welcome, welcome. I am seeing the chat thread just so many amazing people here. Thank you so much for joining us on day two of the People Magic Summit from zero to a million dollars in 2025. I am sitting here with Jane Stutzick my, my partner in growth, my partner in marketing and our head of marketing here at Mighty. And we could not be more thrilled about what we are doing and what we've got on tap today. So with that let me give kind of a, a warm up a lay of the land if you will. And we are going to talk about three things before we bring on our first fireside chat, Jefferson Fisher. Number one, just what to expect today. Number two, I want to do a little bit more of a deep dive on why. Why we feel confident saying from zero to a million dollars in 2025 and it not feeling like a get rich quick scheme. And then we're going to talk a little bit about our offer because Jane is here because we didn't, we, we, we didn't tell you everything. Okay. So we have a couple more things that we are adding to the offering to make it even more valuable. So if you are thinking oh my gosh, this is the year maybe I don't know which is hopefully why you're here. We've got a couple more things to just make it super obvious that now is the time. This is the offer to take advantage of and we are going to be with you every step of the way. I'm giving you the lay of the land.
You're going to be.
If that sounds good to every Vicki, it's we're almost, we are almost at a free set. So you know that that's funny until it's, until a set of steak knives show up at your house. No, steak knives are not showing up at your house. Okay. So I am going to, let's see. I'm going to share, I'm going to share this and then I'm going to share something else. But I just want to kind of give us, give us the lay of the land. Jane, anything coming up in the chat or questions or things that you want to, to, to put a, put a finer point on, let me know because I am looking at my screen.
Great. And Paul says he bought the offer yesterday and I Think he's worried he's not getting the metaphorical steak knives. Paul, you're in. This is just.
You're in. We're just, we're just adding more things. There's nothing, there's. We're never going to add something the next day and like, as, as a punishment to the people who invested early. No, you don't do that. All right, so lay of the land for today. Yesterday we had Seth and Melissa and Hadar and Tiffany and they were amazing. Today is more about workshopping. But first we're going to start with Jefferson Fisher, who is pretty amazing. I feel very lucky that we have had all of our fireside chats and the people who said yes to us. Jefferson is a communications expert who also happens to have a day job as a trial attorney. So we're going to hear his story. We're going to learn about the differences between social media and community and if we're lucky. I got a question for him that I'm super curious about which is what is the best party he's ever been to? So we'll wait, we'll wait for him on that when we get there. And then Tom and I, Tom is my co founder, our head of product here at my networks, we're going to give you a preview. This is where we're starting, starting our workshopping for the rest of the day where we are going to show you exactly what is coming on a mighty network through the rest of 2025. And what we want to show with it is how you go from starting from scratch, getting your first 30 members into using people magic to create value and then taking your members on quests. So that is going to be me and Tom, really Tom. And I'm there for color commentary. And then Jane definitely has a workshop in her future, hopefully a platform that has had a global service outage. Today is back. By the time Jane starts, I think she will.
It will just clarify that's not our platform.
Not our platform. We are up and running and then Daryl Westerfeld is going to bring us home to talk about growth. Like what do you do after you have your 30 members and you're excited to go from 30 to 100, 100 to 500, 500 to a thousand, which makes a huge difference for what I'm going to talk about next, which is why do we feel comfortable and why have I been okay with us saying we can show you how to go from zero to a million dollar community in 2025? Well, number one, we have done it for Other people. So these are just a few of the examples. A successful creator, a financial planner starting from scratch, a fitness instructor being able to level up their programs. And then what we realized is we were putting today together and actually the whole summit together was that we had so many more that we couldn't actually fit them all on a slide. And so we these as as samples and examples of what is possible when you follow the strategy of People Magic and have the software also called People Magic just to make it extra confusing. And by the way, that was all me. And so what we wanted to show before we brought Jefferson on and started the day was these numbers are not somebody who was already successful. Oh, they already had X or they already had Y. This is a set of people who made the decision to trust the process. To trust the process. Now I will also say that yes, Mighty Networks has more 1 million dollar communities than any other platform. But we also have a lot of other communities, courses, challenges, events that are much less than that. And that's totally fine too. I think the reason, I think the reason we focus in on the million dollar plus is because we are just seeing in the strategy and the software and the numbers that when you connect your people to each other again, when you get 30 people, it starts that People Magic dynamic. And the reality is that on a mighty network, they stay on a mighty network, they invite other members in.
Yep.
On a mighty network, they love and engage with courses and challenges and events and chats and your content, which by the way, don't. Don't create a bunch of content, use questions, use polls, have a weekly calendar, use monthly themes. All of these strategies and tactics that we will show you step by step, day by day will get you these results. And if a million dollars isn't your goal, but impact is your goal, great. That's fine too. We're using this as a shorthand to say that software has not existed before, before Mighty Networks, before People Magic. That makes it easy to create a sustainable, durable community that you can monetize with paid subscriptions, with courses, with paid challenges and tickets to events. So I, I want to show real quickly, I'm going to share my screen in a different way. Let me see if. Let's have some math, right, Gina, let's do some math. Okay, so what you're looking at here is a spreadsheet and hopefully everybody can see it. Tell me if, if it's hard to see, easy to see, I'll make it a little bit bigger.
We got it.
Okay, so what you are looking at here is year one and year two of A. In this particular case, we have a number of these. So I'm not going to say this specific network, but this is. Think about this as a composite of many of the successes that we see. So number one, I want to show here, this is 30 members. So we're just going to start with 30 members. This is typically, if you get to 30 members, you will keep growing. That is typically what we see. But this, this is the point I really want to emphasize, which is this $48 number. The average price, the average price of a monthly membership on a mighty network is $48 a month. This is not Netflix. This is not Hulu. This is not your. Oh my gosh, if I just charge the price of a cup of coffee, I will get all of the people and I have to price it low or nobody will come. And this is something else somewhat controversial, but the, the data doesn't lie. The most successful mighty networks, the ones that grow the fastest, the ones that are the most engaged, which we can track and we can measure because it's activity happening and the ones where people magic happens the fastest. So we see those connections between members ready for it. They are networks that charge at the front door. Meaning, Meaning there is not a free community with paid programs. Now a lot of people like that. That blows their mind because there is this sense of oh my gosh, it has to be free. I can't possibly charge, can't possibly charge for something that I'm doing for the first time. How many people have heard that thought about that? I'll look in the chat in a bit, but I have a feeling more than one of you have heard that. Offer it for free, make sure it has value. Now the crazy part about that is that think about coaching or think about anything you would do in consulting. Well, a coach or a consultant takes on a new problem, takes on a new challenge every single time. So the way that we have found the most successful hosts on mighty networks operate is they think about their first foray into a paid membership or a course or a challenge or an event as small group coaching. So it's not about going and proving out your thing and doing it for free. And, and a lot of times the free comes from a place of fear or a place of the old Internet, where, where that actually was the thing that people wanted. Today, free for most people equates to lower quality. It equates to trolls. It. It equates to something that isn't safe.
Safe.
And so what we have found in our data is that when you charge, number one, people pay attention to what they pay for. And as Seth Goden said yesterday morning, which I thought was, was really a powerful statement when I'm saying people pay for, pay attention to what they pay for. What I'm saying is they're going to pay for it most easily with their money. But there are other things that they can invest. They can invest their time, they can invest their stories, their ideas, they can invest their relationships bringing more members in. But in the simplest case, we always want to start simple. $48 a month or $576 a year, 30 people. If you just think about those numbers, that gets you to a successful self organizing network that you can monetize in a number of different ways. This is not, not the only way to do it. But we have found that this is the most successful model. A paid front door and then a paid front door with more paid programs within it. And you can do this if you are starting from scratch. A freemium model where you're, you're investing a lot of time, effort and energy in a free community and then you offer something paid is, is absolutely possible. It is not the easiest, most modern way of doing this, especially for folks who are starting from scratch. And I think that that is a really, really important distinction because we're here to help you be successful. We're here to help you create something so valuable for your members that they want to pay for it and that you can charge for it and you can do that with a small number of members because it is much more similar to a small group coaching or a, a pure mastermind that all of those are, are, are paid programs that work extremely well. Now let's keep going here.
So.
Oh, go ahead, James.
Stephen had a great point in the chat that I think aligns with what you're saying, which is price is one of the filters ensuring you're working with the right members, the right fit members. Finding that ideal member is it, it's you want to have it be. It's for certain people, it's not for other people. And price is a way to do that.
That's a really great point. So thank you for making that. All right, so if you take 30 people and you multiply it by $48 a month or $576 a year, you get $17,280. Now we all can do even the simplest Math that says $17,280 is more than $199 community plan. So just putting a little plug in for our offer here, but even if it was the full priced community plan, I think I said about five times yesterday that it was like $459, it's $492 and then there are some transaction fees. So you are making a profit with just 30 members paying $576 a year. You're making a profit of $16,000 easily. And that is a return on your investment of 17 times and a profit margin of 94 times. And the software, the people magic software. Tom Session. In a little bit we're going to show you some of the ways where what, what we are building here at Mighty Networks is not a content engine. It's not a content grind, which is another word for content engine. It is about how you are using a very lightweight way of, of producing content to get your members to build relationships with each other so they come back for each other. And most importantly, see the power and the value of inviting other members in, which is how we get to in year two, a thousand people. Now this might seem just, you know, beyond expectation, but when you take 30 people and you grow at a compounded rate of just 10% per month. So this is, this is, those 30 people are all inviting one or two additional people in. You get to a thousand people pretty quickly. And Darrell Westerfeldt later this afternoon will show you ways that if, if that organic flywheel of your members inviting other members in isn't going as fast as you want it to, there are ways to accelerate it. So at a thousand people, turns out you can also keep raising your prices or, or creating more programs in your network that allow you to have an average price, not a $48 but of $97 or $11,000. So think about it this way of, you know, on, on average a thousand people paying $1,000 a year gets you to, yes, a million dollar business. And then if you are investing in the software that is letting this thing run itself, moderate itself, make this the kind of thing where you don't have to hire a big team like you used to, even a year ago or even two years ago, you're in a situation where you have a million dollars coming to you that is a million dollars in profit or a 46 times ROI and a 98% profit margin. That is why we love these businesses. Not only are they incredibly lucrative, but you're not, you're not building something that is promising your members the moon and you're not able to deliver, which means that you can create a community and a business that you can be proud of. This is why we are so passionate about what we are building with people. Magic. Because for the first time, we can use software to make and build relationships between people because the software is more sophisticated than it has ever been before.
And it.
That doesn't have to be scary. If anything, what it demonstrates is that you are able to create something of value because the one thing that is not going away in an age of AI and advanced technology and all of these things that feel like they're coming at us, human connection, member to member relationships. It's what we are designed to live for. And if anything, we're living at a time and a place where it's. It's almost like an awkward adolescence that we're. We're moving beyond very quickly into a world where people are hungry to meet amazing other people. And our job at Mighty Networks is to build all the things into the platform from custom fields so members can really offer what makes them unique in the context of your community. Not what their profile looks like on LinkedIn or on Meta or Instagram, but why they are there in your community so that they can meet other people who are on the same path. So there are plenty of examples for how. Okay, now I don't know. Oh, there it is. Stop sharing. I. I'm gonna. I'm gonna share. I'm gonna keep sharing. I'm just gonna share something.
People are loving it.
All right.
I love. Grant said, doing good and lucrative are not mutually exclusive content.
They are not. And. And I think, you know, multiple of our speakers and fireside chats yesterday really emphasized this point. Can everybody see my screen? Okay, good. Which is when you can create value for other people. You can help them achieve their goals, help them achieve results in transformation that they cannot get on their own. That is extremely valuable, and people will pay for it with their time, their energy, their own relationships. In terms of bringing people in and ultimately and ultimately get results in transformation and then bring their story to your ability to bring more people in. Just like what I just did. Because we have more $1 million communities on mighty Networks than any other platform, you probably are like, well, you know what? This might be a good place for me that flywheel can happen for you as well. So as I mentioned yesterday, mentioning again today, as we are kicking things off, this summit is only the beginning. So one of the things we have learned is that surrounding you and modeling for you the power of community in being able to take on this challenge. Challenge of Zero to a million dollars. Well, we've got all. We got it, we got it. We know how to help you do that. And so yes, we kick things off with this free amazing summit with fantastic speakers and you know, really hands on workshops. And then we have a 14 day challenge that starts on Monday. Jane wanted me to mention that. And because no one's missing anything today, you can, you can get a jump start by buying our 199 community plan. Again, normally I think I said what it was it 400, 492. I keep making up different versions of 400, but it's $492. The point is it's more money than 199. And so what this, this package is designed to do is it is designed to take somebody who is curious and make that curiosity a reality. Taking that first step, it takes the opportunity for somebody who is ambitious and ready to level up. We've got, we got plenty of places to go. You just saw those numbers. The sky is the limit. When you are ambitious and ready to level up your business to take advantage of people Magic. And then finally if you are struggling, there is nothing better than a community. And so this is why we have got the challenge and the plan. And it's, it's, it's an annual plan and the annual plan is designed so that you have and give yourself enough time to experiment. As Tiffany Liche said yesterday, community gives you grace and space. And that is what we are doing here. So then we got some books. Why? Because they're cool and I like giving away books. And so we've got Seth Godin's book, this is Strategy. It's his latest book. It's fantastic. Especially if you're getting started from scratch. We've got my book Purpose. Some people seem to like it. I'll take, I'll take it, I'll take it. And then I will also say as we bring Jefferson Fisher on, we don't have his book because it's on pre order but I really recommend pre ordering it because I am super excited about it and pre ordered it myself. But this is not all. Jane, a little bit later today is going to show you how with our people magic GPT even when you don't have people around you, which you will have humans around you in the 14 day challenge. And by the way, that challenge community doesn't go away. You guys are in it together. But then sometimes it's Saturday night and before you go out to dinner you got a couple questions about strategy or you're curious how to set something up in your mighty network. Well that's where the people magic GPT it is a AI co host that sits in chat GPT. So if you haven't heard of chat GPT look it up. Maybe on chat GPT they give you a great, great opportunity to learn all about AI and all about how to use a GPT. People magic GPT that is your AI co host. It has our best thinking in it. It's got our best recommendations, it's got strategies that are based on the data that we have. But I said this was not all and I was accurate. So Jane, do you want to talk about the pieces that is also will also show up in that 199 community plan when people buy it Before, I guess. I guess what Before? Yeah, which is Saturday 5th.
Yeah, it's our fast mover bonus. So I think Paul said, oh no. Am I missing things? On the contrary, Paul, you're a fast mover. You're getting the things. So we have two things that we're on that summit offer page but I saw some questions about it. We didn't really talk about it at length yesterday so we're going to dig in. One is you are going to get five custom fields on your community plan. This is typically only available on our courses plan which is about $1,100 for the year. So you are getting extra features and you may be like what are custom fields? A common question what you have to think about them as are connection points. They are just ways for your members to connect with each other to signal hey, I'm here to give this to the community and I want to ask for this or this is my job, this is my birthday. There are little things you can use to help bring people together and when you combine these connection points with other features on mighty like hey, let's get everybody who says they've been working in this area for 10 years, let's bring them into their own space to have a chat. Let's give them a badge to celebrate them. Let's invite them to a special event. You can start to create some really fantastic member matching that as Gina said, it's custom to your community. It's not just a LinkedIn profile. The kind of boilerplate people do it really when you have custom fields on the profile it helps them think about okay, who am I in this community and what do I want to get out of and add to this community? And it's just part of people magic. Another thing to note about custom fields come to Tom's session later. I've seen a bunch of comments. Well, what about this? What about this? And the answer is come to Tom session later. He's going to talk about this is just the beginning of this idea of matching members together in these dynamic groups. So by investing the 199 in the community plan today, you, you're going to have a year to take advantage of that roadmap, but also to just get in and explore what are the connection points for your community. And in the challenge, we'll teach you which custom fields you might want to use, how to use them, all that.
Good technical stuff, which is a great segue to. All right, we're about to bring Jefferson on. If you have questions about this offer, you know the chat over on the side that's so easy to be like, hey, what about this? What about this? What about this? We're going to move that into emailing. Chatightynetworks.com so chatightynetworks.com so questions about the offers. Fantastic. We've got them. We've got you covered. There is a team standing by to respond to your emails. And the reason is. And this is for you, GH Henri. I'm seeing it. I love it. Jada Kevin. So all of those questions, we are going to answer them in email and we'll talk about them later today. But while Jefferson is here as a guest in our house, let's keep the conversation about his story and his experiences and his ideas because they're awesome. So with that, is everybody, is everybody with me? Give me an emoji that we're good. We got, we got chat at Mighty Networks. I am saying the right email address.com chat@my. So when you're like, oh my gosh, I'm gonna just type in the chat instead. Be like, oh my gosh, I'm just going to type in chat mighty networks.com Michael to ask my question and I'm going to get a response so that we can save this chat for Jefferson Fisher, who's coming on now. Oh, my God, you guys are the best.
