The 7 News Young Achiever Awards are a prestigious set of accolades to recognise young people across Australia. Although I could not be there in person, I wanted to take the time to recognise an individual who was nominated from my area. Lachlan Hyde was nominated for the Konica Minolta Career Achievement Award for his work with the New South Wales Aero Club. At 24 years of age, Lachlan is the club's youngest-ever president and doing absolutely incredible things. 2 years ago, Lachlan restarted the New South Wales Aero Club and has since seen it become the southern hemisphere's largest volunteer-run flying school. Lachlan has created and led flying training camps and mentorship programs which inspire young aviators and promote industry diversity. If that was not enough, Lachlan has also cofounded the Fairy Wren Movement for youth mental health and leads civic engagement workshops through Youth Decide. Lachlan represents the best of Camden. Thank you for all that you do, and congratulations.
