A brief YouTube short transcript of a conversation between Lauren Bateman and another speaker discussing differences between 6-string and 12-string guitars. Core claims: chord shapes and basic playing transfer directly from 6- to 12-string, a 12-string provides more sonic depth, but requires slightly different picking technique and more time/effort to tune (12 strings vs 6).
Lauren is there much.
Difference between a 6 string guitar and a 12 string guitar?
And honestly, there really isn't.
If you can play a G chord, you play C chord, you're going to play it exactly the same way on a 12 string. It's just a 12.
String guitar has.
A lot more depth because you have twice as many strings. So playing chords, I have found is.
Not that much.
Different than playing on a six string. Where things vary a bit is a little bit with the picking. You need a little bit.
More picking.
Technique on a 12 string. And tuning can be a pain in the butt because how you got to tune 12 strings instead of.
Six strings.
But in terms of playing chords and strumming, there's no difference between a 12 string and a 6 string.
