I always recommend to students, go to a guitar play, sit down with some guitars and figure out, do you need a parlor size guitar? A dreadnought guitar? Maybe you need a concert guitar. The sizing is going to make it feel different and comfortable. Every guitar is unique and you as a person are physically different. Maybe you have longer arms, maybe you have longer fingers. Find a good brand of guitar and then go to the store, hold some of them, make sure they feel comfortable. If you feel like you're climbing over it, don't buy it because you're going to start having shoulder issues. I know a lot of students, they bought a guitar, it was too big for them, and they're like, my shoulder kills. And I'm like, get a smaller guitar. And they're like, oh my God, I didn't know you could do that. So go hold a few guitars, make sure they're comfortable, but definitely buy a good quality brand. Do not underestimate. You get what you pay for.
