Hey, everyone. Lauren here. Welcome back. This is going to be a play along video lesson. That's where you get to play along with me to a song from the beginning, the way to the end. If you want the actual lesson video for Heart of Gold, scroll down below. As soon as I get that done, I'll post a link here for you. So what we're going to do is I'm going to play through Heart of Gold here and we're going to play beginning to end. And the first time through, I'm going to go a little bit slower and I'm going to keep the strumming very simple. So we're just going to be doing a down, down, up pattern. If you're not cool on your up strums yet, that's okay. You can just do all down strums. Totally fine. And then the second time through, I might spice it up a little bit more because that's what I tend to do. On the second time through, I'm going to play it a little bit more up to speed. You guys can see if you can catch up with me. And if you can't keep up, simplify the patterns, give yourself more time and play along with me. And slowly but surely you'll get it. All right, so let's take it from the beginning, from the intro. So we got 1, 2, 3, 4.
I wanna live.
I wanna give.
I wanna mine up for this heart of gold.
It's these expressions that never give.
They.
Keep me searching for a heart of gold.
Now I gold.
Keep me searching for a heart of gold.
And I'm getting old.
Intro ready.
I've been to Hollywood, I'm into Red bull. I've crossed the ocean for a hollow bowl.
I bend my mind, it's such a fin.
That keeps me searching for a heart of gold.
I'm getting old.
That keeps me searching for a heart of gold.
And I'm getting old.
Back to interview.
Down, down, up, down, down, up, down, down, up.
You keep me searching for a lot of gold.
You keep me searching but I'm going.
And a miner for this heart of gold.
Keep me searching for a heart of gold.
And I'm getting old.
And there you have it. Beginning to end. Heart of gold. So I'm going to play through a second time now. A little bit faster, a little bit more up to speed. Be doing a 16th note pattern. I'll be doing a down, down, down, up.
So down, down, down, up, down, down, down, up, down, down, down, up, down, down, down, up.
And that's about as fast as I'm going. So if you can't keep up to speed with me just yet, don't worry about doing the 16th note pattern. Stick to the simple. Either two down strums or the down down up. But here we go. We're going to give a try from the beginning intro. 1, 2, 3, 4.
I won't give.
But when a mindfulness how to go.
Man these expressions I never give.
That keep me searching for a heart to go.
And I'm getting old.
It keeps me searching for how to go oh.
Red Wood I've been to Red Bull I've crossed the ocean for this pot go.
I've been in my mind it's such a fine line that keeps me searching for how to gold.
And I'm getting old.
That keeps researching for how to.
And I'm getting old.
And there you have it. That is Heart of Gold, pretty full speed. One of my favorite songs that I like to play. Again, like I said, if you can't keep up with me, don't worry. Stick with the slightly slower version or just practice your chord changes until you get them up to speed. But that is Heart of Gold by Neil Young.
