Lauren Bateman (YouTube) teaches the chorus of Johnny Cash's "Hurt". She identifies the required chords (G, A minor 7, F major 7, C), explains a strumming pattern of steady eighth-note down-strums with a final up-strum, then sings the chorus lines as a play-along example.
So today I'm going to teach you the chorus section of Johnny Cash's Hurt. This is a phenomenal song. Definitely. Go check it out. We need a G chord. We need an A minor 7 chord. I'm going to use an F major 7 chord and a C chord. The strumming pattern is going to be all 8th notes, all down strums. Okay? So it's going to sound like this 1 and 2 and 3 and 4 and down, down, down, down, down, down, down, up. Ready? Two.
What have I become?
My sweetest friend?
Everyone.
I know? Goes away.
In the end?
You could have it all?
