A short clip from Lauren Bateman describing her approach to creating YouTube video thumbnails. She explains that she outsources some thumbnails to a vendor called Custom Thumbnails, and that she frequently uses Canva as an accessible alternative to Photoshop for creating thumbnail designs and templates.
In terms of making thumbnails, we still make a lot, but there's videos. For example, the videos I cater to kind of go viral. I actually send them out to a company that does thumbnails. It's called Custom Thumbnails, and they actually will do the design on the thumbnails. Because I'm not a graphic designer, so I'm not going to do graphic design. But we do use Canva a lot. Canva is a great tool for people who are just getting started. It's not as difficult as Photoshop. I've used Photoshop before, and I know a lot of people who use Canva for their thumbnails, and they have a lot of great templates that you can use to easily get started with creating better thumbnails.
