Lauren Bateman describes releasing a beginner arrangement of "Simple Man" (Lynyrd Skynyrd) that uses three simple chords (with some intermediate parts). She explains she simplified and broke the song down for learners; the video "took off," leading directly to increased core sales as viewers bought her course after praising her teaching style.
I had a song came out recently. It was Simple Man, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and I did a very beginner version. It's a great beginner song because it's three simple chords. It has intermediate parts, too. But I kept it simple, and this video took off and my core sales took off with that video. You can tell when a video is taken off. Your core sales are directly proportional to that. This video was taken off, and it's because I helped people learn a song. I kept it simple. I broke it down for them. They're like, I really like your teaching style. I went and bought your course.
