Lauren Bateman advises how to start building an online presence: secure a personal or brand domain (yourname.com or brand.com) as a destination to send people, and launch a YouTube channel populated with a backlog of foundational videos. She recommends recording and uploading roughly a dozen videos that answer the top client questions so viewers have multiple pieces of content to explore rather than a single video.

So if you want to be successful online, you got to start off by getting a website that's either your name or your brand dot com. You want to have a place that you can send people. And then if you want to start a YouTube channel, my recommendation is to get a bunch of videos recorded and edited. It's kind of like your foundational content. What are the top 10 questions that your clients are going to have? Answer them, give them awesome answers. Make a video for each question and upload those all to YouTube. Because what happens is a lot of content creators, they get started, they upload one video to YouTube, and they have nothing else to serve their audience. They're like, great, that video is awesome. Now what? Like, you've got one video and understand over time, yes, you're going to build a backlog, but I highly recommend in the beginning, create like a dozen videos and upload them to YouTube so that you have this foundational items for people to find you and explore and learn more with you.
