Lauren Bateman describes her personal morning routine and philosophy: she prefers a flexible, feel-based approach rather than rigid rituals. Depending on circumstances she either works immediately after coffee or relaxes with her wife; she emphasizes that individuals should find what works for them and rejects prescriptive morning rituals.

My morning routine is my wife gets up or I get up, we make coffee and then the dog comes back in bed. That's the morning routine. I'm not one of those people who needs to go outside, smell the flowers, walk in circles five times, write all my goals down. I think that's bullshit. It honestly is. I do my morning based on how I feel. Sometimes I got a project to work on, I will get right up, I'll get my cup of coffee and I will go right into my office and get to work right away. Sometimes though I want to sit and have coffee with my wife and I want to relax and I want to enjoy the morning. Maybe I to read a book. I let what's going on in my life dictate my morning routine. Your morning routine is what works best for you. I'm not going to dictate what that's supposed to be. You need to figure that out for yourself.
