Lauren Bateman explains that due to widespread scammers and spam (including Telegram contact attempts) targeting her older audience, she no longer runs public giveaways on her channel. She now conducts giveaways only within a controlled private community/platform she can manage, and will generally decline giveaway partnerships unless she receives the winners' emails from partner companies.
I've done giveaways in the past. I find there's so many spammers out there now. You'll get so many people like, message me on telegram. And my demographic is older and unfortunately, they fall for a lot of these scams. So I have stopped doing giveaways on my channel. If I do a giveaway now, it's within my private community. It's on a platform that I can control because of these scammers. And that's very unfortunate. But I find most of the companies I'm working with, they're giving you a product and basically they want the emails of the people in your customer base. And unless someone's willing to give me those emails as well so that I have them, I'm probably not going to work with them as a giveaway.
