Lauren Bateman explains her personal approach to backing up video footage: she keeps edits and footage in Dropbox for her editor but recognizes that improving camera technology makes older footage less likely to be reused. She confirms she has older footage from 2017–2020 stored but probably would not return to it due to quality improvements.

Do you keep a backup of all of your videos? Yes and no. I mean, I have all the edits for my editor on Dropbox. We do everything in Dropbox. But I also understand that my equipment is going to evolve and technology is going to evolve. So, you know, I probably wouldn't want to go back to any of the footage from 2017, 18, 19 or 20 because my camera is so much better now. So, yes and no. Do I have the footage? Yes. Would I ever go back to it? Probably not.
