Short YouTube clip (Lauren Bateman) advising viewers that the "best" guitar is the one that feels most comfortable. She recommends trying different body sizes in-store — avoid guitars that feel too large (e.g., large dreadnoughts for some women) or too small (strumming position ends up above the sound hole) — and notes she plays a grand auditorium for comfort.

What is the best guitar? Everyone always asks me. You see, I have a tailor here if you follow me on YouTube. I also have a crafter guitar, but I always tell students it's whichever guitar is the most comfortable for you. Now, the guitars come in a variety of different lengths and thicknesses, so I highly recommend going to a guitar store, putting your arm around it, and making sure it doesn't feel like you're climbing over the guitar, because then you might have a guitar that's too big. I know a lot of women that buy those big dreadnought guitars, and they're just a little bit too big for them. I play what's called a grand auditorium. A little bit smaller, a little bit comfortable for me to put my arm around. On the other side, if you're playing your guitar and your strumming ends up up here versus over the sound hole, you might have a guitar that is too small. So you want to make sure it's a guitar that's comfortable enough for you to hold. And when you strum, your hand ends up somewhere around the sound hole. And. And honestly, that is the best guitar for you, is the one that's most comfortable. Because if it's comfortable, you're going to love it.
