Lauren Bateman says 90% of people quit guitar in the first 90 days, but mindset matters more than talent. Use a metronome to watch tempo numbers climb and stay motivated. People have learned to play with their feet or without hands, so if you want it badly enough, you can do it.
"90% of people quit playing guitar within the first 90 days."
Just a mindset, which is so important. I think this is one of the most important things other than using a metronome. And the reason I say use the metronome is because it helps with your mindset. Seeing that number goes up motivates you. Did you know this is a very, very important statistic? Okay. Especially since we're in the new year, A lot of people, January 1st, they pick up playing guitar, and people quit within the first 90 days. 90% of people quit playing guitar within the first 90 days because. Because of guitar teachers like that. The other part is they realize it's actually a lot of work to learn the guitar, but a lot of it is because they have a guitar teacher that makes them feel like it's not possible. And I tell any student, if you have the desire to play the guitar, you can do it. There are people. Go search on YouTube. Person playing guitar with feet. There's people who don't have hands that are playing guitar. So if you actually have hands, guess what? You're ahead of the game. I don't have a technique. I don't have a system for learning how to play the guitar with your feet. That one you might have to figure out on your own. But there's people out there who play the guitar.
