The thing that I love about the guitar is that I was able to actually write my own music. I understood how the instrument worked, and I just really love the sound of it. It is so beautiful. If you finger pick something, it's just a lovely instrument. But that was the thing that really got me about the guitar, was that I understood how it worked versus when I took my piano lessons and I knew nothing about the piano. The guitar helped me express myself because I used to write a lot of poetry, and then when I put a few chords together and I just put a few simple chords together and you've got a so. And I started putting my poetry to music and the poetry came alive, and it was a really great way for me to express myself. So for me, that's why I love the guitar so much, is because it gave me a voice when I didn't have one.
